When I thought to myself I would meet face to face to the new English music sensation there was no way I would expect what I saw.
I left my house for our appointment. It was a snowy winter day in London and all I had was the name of the street he expected to meet me, no number, not a thing. I had neve been to that street before, on the far east part of London, but it was my big chance, better yet, it was this man's biggest chance to get a bit more known on the business. I couldn't fail. I drove and drove until I found that one street, the snow was getting heavier.
I saw a very tall and skinny man with penetrating blue eyes staring at the floor and smoking a cigarette. Not knowing what to expect, I pulled over next to the guy and asked if I was on the right street. 'You are the music guy, aren't you?'. He said with a low coughy voice. I had found the new sensation.

Interviewer: So, tell me your name, something brief about you. I gotta be honest here, I haven't heard anything from you.
Guy: You can call me Andrew Guinnard. I love how the snowflakes fall at this time of the day, they're so precious and pure. Don't you wish you were like them?

I: Erm, sure. Your music is often described as a sort of acoustic yet post-punk act. Do you agree with that?
Andrew: I don't care. My music is my music. I really love this street we're at.

I: Why is that so?
Andrew: Nothing, nothing. Would you like a cigarette?

I: No, thanks, I don't smoke. Anyway, can I perhaps get a sample of your work?

The man suddenly turned on his back and went inside a house before lighting up a new cigarette. I couldn't stop noticing how much he smokes. 'Over here' he said with little enthusiasm to a room where there was paper all over the floor and things written on his wall. There was an acoustic guitar by the window.
'This is my favourite, it's called Machine Gun'.
As he strummed on the chords and sung with so much sadness and in such a low voice I could barely keep track of the words. Yet, it was one of the most powerful songs I had ever heard. I almost cried like a child inside that little room, that song reminded me of so much. I had found out why everyone that went to his concerts loved him.
I thanked for his time and left. He just sat there smoking a cigarette, looking at the wall. He was troubled, but boy this was worth my time!

Some guitarist from some band(AKA John York)-So I guess our time as "the new English music sensation" is up. It goes by fast. I'm interested to see how Post-Punk and "acoustic" go together. We do Post-Punk and jazz, which seems pretty intuitive to me, but maybe not to other people. So yeah, we'll see how this goes.
My Characters-
John York-Guitarist/Multi-Instrumentalist-Genres-Alt Rock/Post-Punk, heavily interested in the Avant-Guard-Face Claim-Graham Coxon- Is Currently-Screwing around
Kim Black-Vocalist/Bassist-Post-Punk/New Wave-Is currently-In India trying to find herself
Website for my old Post-Punk band, which featured John and Kim

Wow, he seems intriguing. And who doesn't love a good genre fusion? Madcore.
