Mainsteam success or huge disappoinment? Just days ago, Chanel shot her newest music video for her second single, Basket of Roses that will be released soon. Chanel went on set, full of energy and off set writing new music for her two album that she is already starting to work on. The success of this RNB singer was outnumbered. She got signed to Tric-Jam, one of the hottest record label in music and got a huge deal. Her debut single, All I Ever Wanted got major buzz getting the attention of rock legend Jason Smith and many music stars on her amazing soulful voice. She has been working on her upcoming debut album, Born into Music for almost a year when she was on a devolopment deal with heavyweight manager, Ben Willer Entertainment back in 2009. But we all want to know the big question- will her voice take her far and even her soulful, but yet vibe blues tone and sound? Chanel released Last Tour July 5th 2011 on Tric-Jam and Ben Willer Music. The single only had a digital download of 5,000 copies not even as much to make or debut on the digital charts. " I think she tries to hard, she is too serious for her first record.. What the fuck?" Music Critic's Marcus Champan said. " It's her sound of music. I give her freedom to do her music her way; that's the only way an artist will do her best work at." Ben Willer released a statement regarding the remark on Mark. Her single was released on airplay, but didnt make charts because of ' low requesting' and 'horrible sales' Just in half a week, the single barely sold 20,000 copies. Rumors went around that this new songstress was going to get dropped from Tric-Jam. " No, this statement is FALSE. We love Chanel and what she is doing with her music and sound. She is a talented young lady and we are so excited for her and her success." Owner of Tric-Jam said on a recent press conference.
Chanel has been trying to get apperences, but havent booked because of low buzz and success of her single. Weeks later, after almost a month of releasing; Last Tear debuted at number 17 on Airplay and #7 on Airplay selling over 190,000 downloads and iTunes and Amazon sales adding up to only 245,321 copies sold. She has the voice and talent, even the strongest passion for her sound and music. But will we see Chanel after her debut album? Is she mainsteam success like stars Brittany Knox, Glamazon and RNB rising icon, Alicia Lena? Only time will tell but MusicCritic thinks, " This bitch will be gone really soon." |

Stinson: I have zero against Chanel...but the question asks if she's a mainstream success right? Well she sold 5,000 singles...I reckon I could sell 5,000 singles of myself snoring. So the answer is no....no she is not. |

Stinson: who am I? Haha...no wait, it's understandable that you don't know...after all, it's not likely you could afford a tv on the revenue of 5,000 singles.
But as for who I am; my name is Neil P. Stinson, I hosted both Chaos Awards shows, and I have a Tv show every week, a comedy talk show called "Your Saturday Night...with Stinson" which racks in 8 million viewers per week. Like I said, I have nothing against you at all...but just saying that for every 1,600 people who watch my show, only one bought your single.
I'm only messing with you though...I thin you got the attitude to make it huge someday. |
