In September 2008, Chimera (who were at that time known as Smash Up) released Ashes Of Dawn: A Fire Begins, before events that occured during the bands December UK tour in support of the album forced them to take a short break until May 2009, when they released their comeback album Picking Up Old Pieces which they said on numerous occasions while touring in support of the album that they were dissapointed in themselfs, not only because they didn't like the album, but because it isn't what they wanted to do.
'Me and Luke [Jelt] wrote the Ashes Of Dawn story in 2008 and released the first part, and people loved it, the 'Fire' that is talked about is the destruction of James' life, the second part, Enemies is about the ones who try to take revenge on him, because the album is being re-written to suit my new genre of music it's going to take a few months, and I'll be releasing them without the 'Ashes Of Dawn:' in the title, I love the story, but Ashes Of Dawn: Enemies sounds too hardcore/metal for the new style of music.'
In 2008, the band reported they would release three albums over the next 2 - 3 years, the 'Ashes Of Dawn' series, which would all link together.
Enemies is set to be Dan Serverge's debut album, which has been confirmed to be the second installment of the Ashes Of Dawn story, which began in 2008.
The story began in 2008 in Ashes Of Dawn: A Fire Begins as James, a 16 year old religious boy finishes his school life, he experiences the terrible event of his brothers suicide and best friends murder within three monts of finish school, in the same month he fails his exams and is rejected from college, as he looks for work, nowhere will employ him, feeling helpless he turns to God, hoping that something good will happen, 12 months on, he's kicked out of his own home after his step father comes home drunk, a few words turn into a physical fight and he ends up on the street for months, his life is misery, with nothing but a broken bed in a youth hostel, he realises that he's expected to be greatful for this, through it all he keeps his faith until a fire burns what he's supposed to call his home down, he's left on the street with nothing, he turns against god and rebels, he begins a journey of destruction, vowing revenge for the events that have taken place, drugs and alcohol consume his life, the struggle gets harder, committing murder and robbery, the first chapter ends with James on the run, his life in ruins, not knowing where to turn...
In the second part of the story, Ashes Of Dawn: Enemies a group of acquaintances of some of James' victims come after James, with no idea of this, James continue as normal as possible with the life he's currently leading, wishing he could turn back to where his life began to spiral out of control to change it all, however, when the family & friends of his first murder victim find him, James' life becomes even more complicated...
More news to come & the rest of part two will be continued soon.
