Conor Lynch Born: January 14, 1989 (Age 22) Origin: Dublin, Ireland Occupations: Singer-songwriter, guitarist, pianist Instruments: Vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards, drums Conor Lynch was born on January 14, 1989 in Dublin, Ireland to parents, Patrick and Marianne, his older brother is his band mate Sean and growing up the two were very close, his mother died when he was 8 years old and his father and his grandparents looked after him and his older brother. He was always a little bit of a troublesome child and admits that he never really made his father’s life very easy, often getting into fights at school and was suspended from high school on various different occasions. He was a big fan of Football from a very early age and would often spend the majority of his free time playing football with friends, A Celtic supporter, he claims that music is his first love and Football is his second love. He began playing the piano from the age of 11 and would often spend time at the local church in the evening playing the piano. At around the age of 15 is where he started to get himself in trouble, fighting would become a regular occurrence and his fiery attitude often ended with being suspended from school, at the age of 16 he and his brother were blamed after an abandoned warehouse was burned down after a group of teenagers spent the evening partying in the building. He was however considered a gifted student during high school, learning seemed to come very naturally for him and he left school with very good grades and went on to do a sporting scholarship at Dublin University. He left after two years and created the band with his older brother.
Sean Lynch Born: April 8, 1987 (Age 24) Origin: Dublin, Ireland Occupations: Musician, drummer Instruments: Drums, guitar, backing vocals Sean Lynch was born on April 8, 1987 in Dublin, Ireland, he is the older brother of lead singer Conor and is the bands drummer, he was always close to his younger brother but was often away from home a lot more than Conor, he had a quite strained relationship with his father and spent as much time out of the house as possible, he did eventually patch things up with his father but resented him from the age of 15 up to around the age of 18. Like his younger brother, Sean also studied at Dublin University, although he was more academic than his younger brother, he took a Science degree. Like his younger brother, Sean often caused trouble but remained a lot less fiery than Conor, he would often look out for his younger brother despite the two often fighting with each other, they have a somewhat strained relationship but as they’ve grown older, they’ve become more calm and learned how to work together, Sean and Conor formed the band together, later adding Jordan Murphy to the band. It was Sean who was originally friends with Jordan and since the age of 8 the two have been almost inseparable. Sean was given drum lessons as a way of letting out his anger as recommended during his time in anger management.
Jordan Murphy Born: February 21, 1987 (Age 24) Origin: Dublin, Ireland Occupations: Musician, guitar Instruments: Guitar, backing vocals Jordan Murphy was born on February 21, 1987 in Dublin, Ireland. His parents were initially from London but Jordan has lived in Dublin for his entire life. His father was a builder and his mother was a nurse, in comparison to Conor and Sean’s family, Jordan’s family were quite wealthy and rather privileged, at the age of 10, Jordan began taking guitar lessons and although his interest wavered quite often, he did later become obsessed with music. He studied at Dublin University too but only studied in music, he was also part of several local bands before being asked to join Diamond In The Rough. After becoming friends with Sean at 8 years old, they became best friends and have been inseparable since then and he initially didn’t like Sean’s younger brother Conor and they even fought each other after an argument during their teens, but they ended up becoming friends and are now in the band together. |
