Ex-Chimera vocalist Dan Serverge and bassist Oli Williams (ooc: which I only just realised is the black weather guy on Family Guy lolol) talk about their future projects and the Chimera final arena tour & final gig at Aftermath Festival.

Interviewer: Hey guys, so first of all, tell us about your last tour and gig

Dan Serverge: Hey! Well, we've already written out the set for the millenium stadium gig on September 3rd, it's rediculous, it's a 27-song set, not including the intro's and interludes, so we're looking at two hours on stage at Aftermath, we're not playing that many on the tour though as we're saving a lot of songs that we want to play just at that gig, if people are paying over £60 for a day ticket and even more for a weekend one, we want to give them something more, so we're not too sure about the tour yet.

Oli Williams: Yeah, like Dan said we've got a huge setlist planned and the stage show is also going to be something bigger than ever before, we've done an arena tour once and we had a pretty cool stage show for that, but we've got a full new light show under way, just to make stuff so much better, we have a lot planned, we've got chiors joining us on stage at one point, which I'll probably get in trouble with our manager and the band for letting slip, however, I've said it now.

Interviewer:: That sounds like it's going to be insane, Oli, we've already heard about Dan continuing with his music career as a solo artist and producer, have you any future plans?

Oli: I'm not too sure at the moment, I'm a lot younger than the rest of the band were, I'm only 19 where as Dan is 23 and Jake and Ben are 21, I joined as a friend of Luke's, who would've been 24 at the moment, so haven't been playing aslong as the rest of the boys in any genre, as far as I know i'll continue with metal, Chimera was my first serious band when I joined in 2008, and when I was asked to join, it was incredible! But I'd also like to go into another direction, so it's still too early to say anything for sure, I will definatley be back with a band though.

Interviewer You were made famous in 2007 with your album Confessions, then the career continued, you release two albums in 2008, one in 2009 and one in 2010, so you haven't had much of a break since your break through four years ago, how have you managed it?

Dan: Well, we knew that the genre we chose was very over-crowded, we've been careful with planning everything, I mean, in 2007 we release Confessions but we only toured the UK in support of that and had loads of songs for it, so Tomorrow We Die, our first 2008 album was pretty much a better version of Confessions, Ashes Of Dawn was written over two years, then released in 2008, well, the first part of it, 2009 saw a really bad album on our behalf, Picking Up Old Pieces, and then 2010 saw This Concept, but writing this, in our breaks from the Pieces tour(s) we were writing, we finished in November 2009 with the Pieces tour, This Concept was then recorded, we never had a long 'off' stage so the buzz of the band kept on going, and luckily, except for Pieces, albums kept getting better, This Concept broke one million sales, it was amazing, but after the UK tour, a day before the EU tour, Luke died, we had to do the first half of the tour with our drum tech Mike, like I said, Smash Up/Chimera never went too silent, so we got bigger and bigger and kept releasing fresh material.

Oli: I think that we gave so much in our live shows that we drew a lot of attention to ourselfs from that, which done us a lot of favours, it seemed everyone wanted to tour with Smash Up, it was insane! I wasn't even 18 for most of this so you know, pretty intense stuff for me, I somehow managed three C's in my GCSE's when I was 16 'cause I was touring & writing at that time, it would litterally do every gig I could make, so the exams to me were second priority, irresponsible? Yes. But worth every fail!

Interviewer: One last thing, do you know what the rest of the band are planning for the futue?

Oli: I know that Ben is moving to America in November, he plans to settle down, we all made a hell of a lot of money from out careers in Chimera we could finish now, I think he's going to become a promoter and possibly open a little studio up out there, something for the local bands, he knows how hard it is to get a break as an unsigned band, all of us do!

Dan: Jake will be forming a new band after the last Chimera shows etc, but he doesn't have a clue about the genre or anything.

Interviewer: Well, thanks for talking to us, a pleasure as always!

Both: Cheers!

OOC: I know I haven't been on here a lot lately, I'm gonna be doing a fair bit on ex-members of Chimera as both my band projects are writing their albums, or touring, waiting to record, all that jazz, I haven't dissapeard! I just got back here so my new bands on here are just starting out, I came back hoping to continue the lives of most of the Chimera members and rise a new band from the ground. So I've not got a lot to RP about, but as soon as they do release their albums and get on the road, I'll have plenty to RP about, just an awkward moment in their careers for me to do anything with them at the moment! Anyway, that's all I have to say!
