I saw that episode of the original series where that guy was being a dick to his Charmander, slapping it around and stuff. It was so emotional. Then I saw what it evolved into and I was set.

I don't know why, but something has always drawn me to it. All my other pokemon area, like, big and powerful, but I always choose Bulbasaur. Admittedly though, Charizard is a badass. Indifferent to Squirtles and their evolutions.
