RollingStone Q&A With Teen TitansTeen Titans talk about next single "Super Powers", Joey in the Big Brother house, their latest album "Rebellion", solo music, touring and more...!...So you guys announced that the next single off your latest album "Rebellion" is going to be "Super Powers". Why this choice?Laurence: We felt like it had to be a single for how it sounds. It really represents the sound of the album well.
Den: ...And it has got all the potential, you know! It was an obvious choice!
Have you already got an idea about what will the video be like?Martina: Yes, we do. It's going to be another video that reflects ourselves and our personalities, but in a different prospective though!
Tanya: We have always got ideas on the video when we choose the single.
"Fight", your last single, was promoted and performed as a fourpiece. Did it give you guys any problem?Laurence: No, Tanya has always been taking Joey's parts for the whole time and the only thing wasn't really a problem, it was more like feeling the band differently, as if we weren't the real Teen Titans without Joey.
Martina: We also felt like that when Den left the band the last year. It's quite disappointing to be on the stage without one of your bandmate.
So how are you feeling about Joey being in the Big Brother house, apart from live performances?Den: You know, it's kind of sad to not have him with us and we felt pretty bad when we had to release the third album without him, but we know that he's having fun in the house and we're really supporting him and I was so happy when I found out that he became Ugenia's boyfriend. She's always been a good friend of us, especially of me.
Tanya: We really miss him.
Talking about your music again, how is it to have already released three album in like a very short time?Laurence: Well, it's quite cool. We're all impressed by how fast we made it in releasing these albums. Everytime we started to work on one, we always used to think that it would have taken more time.
Den: Actually our second album was supposed to be released during this summer and this third one was meant to be released around the summer of next year, but everything went quickier and we managed to release them sooner.
Tanya: We've been very fast on recording the album, but it was obviously because we usually write, produce and record on our own.
Have you already got ideas on the next album?Den: Not many, but we're already putting some little ideas together!
Martina: I'd love to do something rockier for the next album, or at least something that had more guitar in it. It's something we'll think about the next year though.
Are you all already busy with your upcoming solo albums?Martina: Yes, we kinda are, but I'm currently working on my new side project, which is the girl band "The Amazons". I'm going to work on my solo music soon though.
What about a new tour?Laurence: Well, we're also working with our manager Will on it and there may be something around the beginning of the next year.
You guys have been in the industry for over a year now. Are there any experiences you'd like to tell?Den: Actually there are! We've been through lots of fun and amazing experiences. One of the best I think it was touring all around the world and you know, visiting all the different cities.
Tanya: Yeah, it's also always cool when you meet the fans. They're great.
What did success change in your life?Den: I think how people treat us. Some treat us as if we were some sort of Gods, which is kinda embarassing sometimes because we don't really feel like that. But there also are some people who just use us, which is very sad!
Laurence: And life is very different even for the simple things, like going to a bar for example.
Now, lastly, who are three of your most played artists of the moment?Laurence: Well I'd go with Buzz&Hype, Tisha Jackson and Dominic Brown.
Tanya: I'm loving Riot! In The Boulevard, Michelle Green and Glamazon.
Martina I've been lately in love with Chanel, Alicia Lena and Misery Loves Company.
Den I am listening a lot to my friends Electrodeath, Buzz&Hype and Mandy Williams!
