Blog 1: 10/17/2011

Hello, my name is Rowan, and I have created this blog to write about my misadventures in the music business. So.. maybe I should start out about telling you who I am, and what I am doing. My name is Rowan Moore, but I trying to get into the business under only one name. I am nineteen years old, currently living in a shabby apartment in New York.

I was born in South Korea, but my family moved here for my father's job when I was three. We moved to a small town in Kentucky, and I lived there until I was eighteen.

When I was eighteen I decided that if I wanted to make it big, I would have to hitch my wagon to stardom, and stop in New York. My first night I met up with my aunt, who had move to the states a little before my parents did. I lived with her for a year. She had also tried to do the whole music thing, but on the producer side. Eventually she gave up, and married, but she decided she would help me with my dreams.

I had been living in New York for two months, By then I had had a boy break my heart, I had been mugged twice, and my apartment had been broken into. There was only one thing that had been keeping me going. The music scene. Since I live in the downtown area, I've been managing to get small gigs at clubs, and and bars, playing my pop songs.

Sure, I was performing for little money, and I would get booed on the occasion, but I still loved performing. When you are only good at your belts, then then singing and performing is the only thing you can do.

During that time, I had written three albums worth of material. I had gotten positive reviews from crowds, my songs had even gotten a few label scouts to find me.

I was close to being signed. It was a small label in lower Manhattan. The guy, Robert, was really nice, and was willing to sign me. The next day I went to the label to sign a few papers, and guess what? THEY CLOSED. The label went out of business, since it wasn't bringing in enough money.

So that is what happened in my tragic story. Now I have a show tonight, and there will hopefully be someone who will want to listen to me. If you are ready this, please hope that I get something done in my music career. I'll post later!~

Blog 3: 10/19/2011

So, today I went in and recorded my first demo. I was really excited. My aunt had this connection through her husband, and managed to get me two hours of recording time. I called up a few of my musician friends to play some instruments on the track. I met with the owner around noon, and we went straight to work. The track, including the instruments, was done within the hours given.


I decided that since none of you have heard anything from me music wise, I would give you a little taste of the song, and see if my aunt can get it sent to a radio station to get some airplay. Hope you like it!

Blog 5: 10/27/2011

I'm loving my life at the moment. Sorry I haven't been posting a regular blog, but a lot has been happening this week. First of all, I've been recording material like crazy, so I'm really excited about that. I've been recording my best songs, and I think they will be making it onto an album soon.

Second, I've just been really happy. I heard my song on the radio two days ago, and I was at a supermarket. Yeah... I freaked out. Oh well. Can anyone else at that supermarket say they have a single out on the radio? (It would be much appreciated if you would request it or download it :3)

Now with all the recording I've been doing, which should be done in the coming month, I have decided to put out a release date on my OFFICIAL LEAD SINGLE for the album! Speechless won't be considered a single. I just don't think it is a very good lead for the kind of album I'm writing, but Speechless will be featured on the album.

Now the lead single from the album will be out NOVEMBER 16TH, 2011. I'll write soon on telling you what it is called! See ya~
