INTERVIEW:
Vh1: Hey guys we are here with Suburban Sunrise who just released a new album called "Scream!" last week and I must say, I think along with me and alot of other people we were all wondering what you would bring back to the industry. can you tell us where your influences and idea's came from for this new album?
Matt: Well with the instrumentals we wanted to kind of take a step back to what fans and everyone really liked from us with "Torn, Filthy, Love" which is a really hard album for us to follow up because we really never expected such a good response from everyone because with that album we just really wanted to get something released with Nicole on it but what we did with the new album is we took the style from TFL, and mixed it with our last full length "When All Else Fails... Run" but without so much of the electronic feel and went back to the more straight guitar, drums and bass.
Nicole: And lyrically I just write about what I do on every album and its really just what I cant talk to people about and this album is alot deeper(lyrically)then any of the other records I have written just because I have had alot of drama going on in my life, but I think that fans can really relate to these songs so it could be a good thing

Vh1: Since you brought up your last full length. Although it wasn't a complete flop, it was not as well taken in by fans as TFL. Why do you think that is?
Matt: I personally think people didnt accept it as well as TFL because of the electronic change. I mean I dont really know why it wasnt as accepted because it wasnt that much different from the other album but just had heavy electronic synth and beats in it but I mean I think we should have just eased people into it instead of just like BAM! There is a new sound now take it!

Vh1: So you guys just announced the "Scream Tour 2011" with Misery Loves Company and Aaron Marks. Are you guys excited for that tour?
Nicole: I am more than excited. I miss playing in the US club scene. The kids that come out are usually really crazy and really get into it. Im also really excited to play with MLC and Aaron. Both are amazing and I'm really happy both wanted to do the tour!

Well I know you guys have to go get ready for your set but thank you so much and good luck tonight!

SHOW REVIEW:
As the crowd stands around anxiously waiting for Suburban Sunrise to come stage and play. As I await the band to come on I kept thinking over and over again, "Are they still going to be able to keep up the energy as they did back when they were one of the top Alternative bands in the industry?" Well as you will see the answer to my question is yes! And they might be even better then before. As the sun begins to set an electronic instrumental plays through the loud speakers and everyone began to cheer. When Matt and the other touring members came on to the stage the crowd erupted and the band went into a heavy intro. As the intro went on it cut into the old style vinyl crackle of the song "Torn Filthy Love" as the full instrumentals came in Nicole Woods came running onto the stage and the entire crowd began cheering really loud. Right from the beginning of a song the energy was intense and insanely high. The next song they played was "2012" off the album "When All Else Fails... Run" and kept the energy high and fun. Although the song isnt as hard and fast as TFL the crowd kept up the energy. After that song the band stoped playing and Nicole introduced the band members. The band then went into a new song off of their new album "Scream!" called "Razor Around My Neck." To my suprise most of the crowd knew the song even though the album was just released last week. It really shows who the die hard SS fans are. Next they played another new song "Sleeping In Someone Else's Bed" which is the most explicit song from the new album, next they played an old single "Cancer Song" which consisted of Nicole playing Piano and Matt playing acoustic guitar. This was probably my favorite song from their performance because It was very very hearfelt and the vocal trade off's by Matt and Nicole were just beautiful. After that they went into another high energy song, the first single from their new album "Torn!" which is one of the harder tracks that the band has and oh boy did the crowd love it! The entire audience ate it up and went crazy when they played this song. At this point in their set the entire band was dripping in sweat. The next three songs they played were the old single "Which Way Is Up?", the first single from WAEFR "2 Birds, 1 Stone" and the fan favorite "Lines." When the band played "Lines" it reminded me of when SS was at the top of their game. The energy was still high, the crowd was having fun, the band was having fun. It had been almost like SS had never lost the great feel that people fell in love with! Next SS played "Song In The Dark" which is another fan favorite. Another one of their harder tracks that the crowd could really get into and move with. And next was the last song in their "official" set which is everyone's favorite SS song and their biggest hit "Vulture!" I dont even have words for when they played this song! There wasn't one person just standing there! Everyone was moving, the band looked like they were just starting off their set and everything just seemed right and "in tune" with everything. As the song closed and the band left the stage automatically the crowd started cheering for one more song. The SS tour manager came out and asked the show manager if they had enough time and he gave the band an extra 7 min! Only Matt and Nicole entered back onto the stage and the crowd cheered. The band talked for about a minute and then Matt picked up an acoustic guitar and began to play their newest single "Forever In A Moment." The majority of the crowd sang along with the two and swayed with the song. As the song ended the crowd cheered and the two exited the stage.
