This Documentary is basically footage from different moments on ElectroDeath’s Career, each song’ stories will be told and also reports from the girls were recorded as an interview.


1. Here And After

Story

This is the only new track on the album, and obviously the only single too, it was dedicated to Yulia, and we clearly can see this on its lyrics. Rumors about Yulia’s departure from the band started when the girls started the European Leg of their WICCA tour, media started to say that Yulia made some demands to keep touring, such as a separated hotel room for her, a speared tour bus and other stuffs that would kept her away from Magie and Lilly, things were not good inside the band, the real reasons were never revealed and probably will keep in secret, the only thing said is that Yulia was not in the same tune as Magie and Lilly were so she was leaving the band to pursuit a solo career. In the meantime of all these things happening the band’s managers started to induce the band to record a song and let the song explain what they were feeling so they could overcome the situation, and what happened was that “Her And After” was born in this extremely apprehensive feeling, at least the song made the girls respect themselves rather than fight, let’s say it was better this way. Now they’re probably not friends anymore, but they respect each other and both of them can go on with their own careers. This is officially the last track ElectroDeath produced under Shooting Star Records management and also the last track of the original members, enjoy it.

Magie Comment

I feel like, this is going to be the departure of our lives! It wasn’t to be this way, but unfortunately life has put us in a point where we must divide to keep going, and I don’t want to put a blame on us or on Julia, I think this was something that came naturally through the years, now it’s just something we could not hide anymore! I feel sad and happy at the same time… sad because I love Julia, she will always be my heart sister, but I feel happy that we found a way to keep our friendship. You know sometimes we think that we have to be closer to our friends to keep the friendship alive, but sometimes it’s not like that, for us and Julia, the distance will take care of our own issues, and we will be able to hang out again in a near future. I tried to translate this into this song. – She smiles at the camera as the scene fades out.

Song Description

This is an electro house song with dance pop beats. It is not so different from ElectroDeath’s last album, there are still that hope and fresh feeling on its melodies, what would be really happy if its lyrical content wasn’t so sad and sometimes dramatic. There is a dance pop continuing beat that keeps playing although the song, house elements appears in the songs hook moments, and those moments last for sufficient times to put everyone to dance. The song has a reaming growing melody that reflects a high energy feeling to its listener. Magie sing almost the song completely alone, Lilly and Yulia only sing the chorus of the song. Lyrics are about departure, it’s basically Lilly and Magie saying goodbye to Yulia and thanking her for everything, it’s sad, sometimes tragic but there’s a beautiful meaning on its underline.

2. Sorrow feat. Daniel

Story

While writing songs for the album “The Sun Will Rise” the long time wish to produce a song with Daniel was attempted once he accepted to work with the girls. The song Sorrow was written in Russian language, native language of Yulia, but an English chorus was added to fit Daniel’s vocals to it. This song remains to the process of recovery that the band passed after Magie and Lilly initiate themselves on Wicca arts, actually the album itself bears a lot of this theme. The song was not released as a single, probably because of everything that happened with the girls, but it is a B-side of the single “Her And After”, and its live version, took from the band’s DVD, received some airplay and also can be purchased as a promotional single for it.

Julia Comment

Sorrow is a beautiful song, I wrote it when we were writing material for ‘The Sun Will Rise’ album right after the end of our past world tour ‘Mad House’. It came so easy to me, like a rap in my native language which is Russian. Talks about love and forgiveness, it is funny after all, because even in that time we were not so close like we were before, me and the girls. And this song was just about that, about being tolerant with someone else’s mistakes and forgiving them. I think forgiveness is the best thing a human being can do in life! There’s just no other way to live a peaceful life if you not forgive the ones you love. I love Daniel and his unique style, I’m a truly fan of his work and the way he came to us to record the song, was so cool, I felt that it was such an honor to work with him. He is so calm and concentrates in his work and so creative, I even loved him more after the recording sections. That was a great experience – Julia keeps looking to the camera as the image changes to Lilly.

Lilly comments

WICCA changed our lives (Magie and Lilly) in ways we would never think it would change. I know we’re better human beings nowadays then we were before, this song is about that, we did it with Daniel which in my opinion is one of those spiritual’s artists out there, he has such a strong energy with him, it was really cool to work with him. I remember that he brought candles and stuffs to the studio, just for us to enter in the mood. I’ll never forget the day we recorded it. – Lilly keeps looking down to her feet while the video fades.

Song Description

This is the most slow and soft song in the album. It starts with Daniel Singing the first strophe of the song in English, followed by a 80s slow piano melody, the song receives an organic percussion and a jazz sax melody before Yulia starts to sing the Russian verses of the song, this downtempo melody keeps playing although the song, and when Magie sings the second English strophe of the song it gets more dramatic, Yulia sings the second Russian Verse of the song, till the song enters its break moments, all melodies get back to that soft piano from the beginning, and only the Jazz styled sax is played. The last English strophe of the song is sung by Daniel and Lilly together, the song ends suddenly, with the last phrase being sung and their voices in a echo effect. This song ends the standard format of the album. Its lyrics are about how human being deals with hurts and betrayals, and how they can get over these things, just crying and letting their heart empty of those bad feelings. Daniel joined the production of the song while he was still on tour with Miss Vanity, and this is considered the most experimental song on the album.

4. WICCA feat. Cinzia Ricci



Story

Last year Magi and Lilly decided to work their spiritual sides by joining modern witchcraft, more known as WICCA. This has not only changed their lives, but also changed their music as well, heavily influenced by nature sounds the girls started to mix ambient sounds with their actual electro pop beats. ElectoDeath always claimed their selves the biggest fans of Miss Vanity, but they never were brave enough to work with her. But this song WICCA was written specially for Miss Vanity who had passed though really bad moments on her life back at that time, so Magie invited her to join ElectroDeath on the track. Miss Vanity traveled to Brazil while she was still with her last worldwide tour and spent three days on Julia’s family farm in São Paulo, there the girls did the song together, but unfortunately Miss Vanity passed away a few weeks after it. ElectroDeath entered in a discussion in weather was good or not to release the song. After several talks with their managers and also their fans, the girls decided to release the song without Miss Vanity vocals on their album. The song received critical acclaim, not only by its positive message but also by its innovative sound. This new Hit singer Cinzia Ricci was starting on electronic scene back at the time, she was hired in the same label as ElectroDeath was, the wish to make WICCA a duet, was still on ElectroDetah plans, and after they invited Cinzia to join them, the song was released as the third single of the album.

‘WICCA feat. Cinzia Ricci’ was released as the third single of the multi-platinum album ‘The Sun Will Rise’. The music Video of this single coast around one million and a half dollars to be produced, probably the most expensive video the girls ever released before.

Magie Comments

This is my special song, we wrote it so carefully and frankly for us, that every time I have to play this song, it’s like I’m growing inside, my heart gets bigger and I feel happy about it. This actually was the first song we wrote for ‘TSWR’ and it came so naturally and different for us, that Julia at the beginning was somehow worried about how our fans would react to a softer song, but me and Lilly were so sure that it would work, that we instead convinced Julia that this should be the direction we should take to produce the album. And it worked

Julia comments

I didn’t like in the beginning, because it sounded so different from what I was used to do, that I felt worried about it. But the change was prominent, so I just followed the way and I guess now I’m happy with it.

Song description

The song starts very slow with a growing electronic melody mixed with some wind ambient sounds, Yulia sings the first strophe of the song followed by these slow and angelical melodies till the chorus starts where she is join by Magie and Lilly and the song changed to a house electric melody with a up-tempo drum sequence mixed with some piano riffs, but everything sounds so mysterious, due to the ambient sounds the song bears, the second strophe of the song is sung by Lilly, with Magie on the backing vocals when the chorus starts again, the song melodies doesn’t change too much, the up-tempo fast drum sequence and the house electronic beats are still there. On its bridge the song goes to a new intonation, while Magie goes singing the last strophe, it all comes back to the regular sounding when the final chorus starts. The word “WICCA” is whispered although the song. This song has a hope spirit on it, compared to the first track of the album, it can be related to Miss Vanity’s last singles. Lyrics are about changing our lives from searching material stuffs to conquered love, which is all we really need. Cinzia Ricci’ remix is basically the same version as the album, melodically talking, the only big differences consists of Cinzia singing the second strophe of the song and also singing with the girls the chorus and the pre choruses of the song. It was also added in the drums of the song a faster sequence, to make the song sound faster than the original version, but it is still very subtle

6. White Robe



Story

This is the very first mainstream single ElectroDeath released back in 2006. Before it, the girls released only in Brazil a Portuguese album entitle ‘Origem’ but with a more pop rock feel, so ‘White Robe’ is their big change style from rock to electronic scene. But still back at that time, ElectroDeath was supported by their former label ‘Brazilian Records’, which promoted the album ‘Do Not Regret’ and its ‘Reloaded’ version in a worldwide campaign making the girls achieve some success worldwide, especially on Europe and Asia. ‘White Robe’ is definitely a very important song on ElectroDeath’s career, everything they become nowadays, first started with that industrial electronic crazy songs of their very first album.

Magie Comments

Every time I have to perform this song, I feel like I’m coming back to the start. This is really good actually, because I can remember how difficult it was to make this dream come true. How hard we had to work to make people accept us. It all started when we decided to work on our very first English album, which would be our first worldwide release. ‘Do Not Regret’ were more electro pop then our first and only Portuguese album, because we wanted to be mainstream acts, and electronic music was just getting some attention and I had worked as a DJ almost my entire life, so it was the perfect idea for us to change our style. I feel like if we hadn’t change, would we ever be successful as we are now? I only have to thank Brazilian Records for making us follow that way, unfortunately the label doesn’t exist anymore, but the memory remains and so us!

Julia Comments

I’ll never forget the day we recorded this song. It was a very different way to record, first because we were for the first time in L.A. in this big studio and second because I was used to sing rock songs, and I was singing an electronic song. I feel so happy that we had to pass this big changing in our careers, because It only leaded us to the place we are now! Even we’re not gonna be together anymore, I will never regret this song or anything else I have done in this band. I’ll still be loving each moment, each memory and each of these girls!

Lilly Comments

This is our, life’s changing song! Without it, ElectroDeath would never exist, the fans knows about it! In every tour we must perform it live! It’s our signature. Also this is the most remixed song of our repertory, every new tour, or every new album, a new remix for it. It keeps following us in every place we are, and it will keep following.

Song Description

This song is an industrial electronic music, with influences of dance pop. There is a drum sequence which is played although the song making it sound clear and simple but also fast at the same time. Between the verses of the song, this fast drum sequence slows down to match with the warming and thin voice of Magie, she sings almost the entire song only at the chorus she is followed by Lilly and Julia, also in the chorus the drum sequence becomes fast again, the song has a mix of industrial sounds such as machinery noises and also echoes. At the end of the song a dance pop beat is mixed in the original sound of the song, making it more danceable and also a bit more pop. Lyrics are about innocent people sentenced to death.
