______________________________________________________________________ Hello, and Welcome to the official re-launched site of J-Pop singer Miyuki Tanaka! The site is currently under construction, but in the meantime, please enjoy Miyuki's new song and official debut, Scarred, which will be released on 1/29/2012
Release Date: January 29th, 2012 Genre: J-Pop, J-Rock, Psychedelic trance Duration: 6:30, Radio Edit: 4:00 Recorded: 2012 Writers: Miyuki Tanaka
Miyuki Tanaka emerged this year as the the next wave of Japanese artists to break into universal acclaim after artists like Yumi Takahashi proved it to be possible with #1 hits like Tonight last year, not to mention years before Yumi other Japanese Artists managed to make a mark. But who can we remember other then Yumi for the last two years? In a world where popular music can sometimes become one dimensional artists where would Miyuki fit? And for the most part she would be the sole Japanese Act to jump the gate as Yumi has gone into obscurity. Still, her J's had plenty of faith in her.
Making her way into 2012, Miyuki was signed to a managerial contract with Sony as they would be in charge of her marketing, publicity, promotion and arranging studio sessions for the singer. What Miyuki didn't know was that she was practically signing her life away and ultimately would have no say-so in what her music sounded like. That's when "I Think I'm Gay (Kissed A Girl) came about.
Her managers wanted to find a way to garner a buzz for Miyuki, and if it meant forcing her to sing a homosexual charged debut, then she would have to do it. Although Miyuki has no problem with the orientation, there was so much other things for her to sing about, and for people to know her for, other then kissing girls. Miyuki was obligated, and so had no choice. Her dreams were sure to be shattered and she regret even signing. Miyuki wouldn't have the luxury of contacting any record producers, writing her own music, or having any say -so. Totally locked in.
To no surprised the song itself garnered a huge mixed review with some artists calling it "inappropriate", "crap" and it even crashed on the charts as a big disappointment. This very talented singer, songwriter completely over shadowed by a label who thought they knew it all. After legal actions were soon to be taken against Sony for defamation of character, they agreed to let her out of the contract for a disclosed amount, her founding manager brought Miyuki out of the contract, and so we are starting fresh, and Miyuki is doing it her way. The way she intended on doing it. The J-Way.
'Scarred' is a single that is from an upcoming body of work that will totally ditch the previous work you have heard from (Miyuki's managers), and will totally shine Miyuki as the real J-Pop artist that she is. No more Kissing Girls and all the nonsense that came with Sony and their sick plan that ultimately fell through the roof. And gave them a huge loss of a potential huge star, who's out to win.
The song starts off with an unorthodoxed cut up vocals of Miyuki that is not understandable and at first would have a person going WTF? But soon after the backing beat cuts in and speeds up along with these "weird vocals" as an electronic backing beat keeps speeding up, and it breaks into a J-Pop catchy/chaotic beat. Seconds go on with these vocals and the song quickly is added with guitars and drums creating a more J-Rock sound where we can finally hear Miyuki's quite powerful voice that isn't out-shadowed by inappropriate lyrics. She sounds angry as she sings "I feel so ashamed, I signed me away, what do I win? Back to square one, nothing to gain, I'm such a shame." She repeats those lyrics twice, but what we didnt know is when she is singing these lyrics the song is building for a huge drop full of chaotic trance beats, along with guitars and a quick electronic like backing beat. The overall sound almost feels like the different instruments and synths are fighting each other as the syths are weaving in and out, the electronic beat pounding, and the guitar sounding more haunting then ever giving us pleasant mix of all three. When things slow down, Miyuki comes back with the track "I might be full of scars, But I'm getting stronger, I'm out to here win, to all my J fans, yes I'm okay. The song breaks into a second drop this time with the electric guitar sounding harder then before and then slows down as she repeats the previous line one more time and out of no where a strong Miyuki belts out a large belt and begins singing the chorus "AHHHHHHH" along with the previous instruments, guitar standing out the most as she powerfully sings "This girl is scarred still fighting for her family...she's fighting for her pride and sanity.... striding so hard..her epiphany, So Scarred, So Scarred, I'm Scarred! followed by an accompanying belting note along with plenty of guitar chords, electronic bliss, and full on psychedelic trance going along with the chorus and continue to go on for a while after Miyuki finishes singing the chorus.
The song finally slows, breaking down with slow piano notes along with a lighter pounding beat as Miyuki singing more vulnerably then before, sounding much sadder "I feel so ashamed, I signed me away, what do I win? Back to square one, nothing to gain, I'm such a shame." with that the song starts rising one last time, stronger then before with eerie guitar chords and that pounding beat as one last time Miyuki screams out "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" i]"This girl is scarred still fighting for her family...she's fighting for her pride and sanity.... striding so hard..her epiphany, So Scarred, So Scarred, I'm Scarred![/i] and the song breaks into one last "bliss" full of synths, electronic beats, and the full on psychotic trance for about 30 seconds and finally slows down one more time with the piano and she sings "This girl is scarred still fighting for her family...she's fighting for her pride and sanity.... I'm...Striding so far...." andthe song fades out slowly
Miyuki brings her all this time around, and after listening to the song you may or may night gain a liking to Miyuki, but for one thing, she's without her career killing managers and is striding. The single will be out tomorrow. WHAT DO YOU THINK?[/color]
Sounds like: Give it a listen!
