Hello, our name is stars.

(from left to right; Alex, Nathan, Jason)

Nathan Castle – lead vocals, primary lyricist
Jason Andrews – guitars, trumpet, composer
Alex Manning Jr. – backing vocals, piano, guitars, bass guitar, keyboards, synthesizers, trumpet, flugelhorn, glockenspiel, drums, percussion

A Message from our name is stars.

Not much to say yet. We are a band, who makes sophisticated pop music. And we are filthy rich assholes. Oh, sorry, not yet at least. But we are friends with quite a few though. So yeah... look out for our music. Ryan Ross Hernandez produced our debut EP and we have a rather attractive girl who joins us on some songs. Those are two points to love us already, right?

A Message from our name is stars.

It is true what they say about knowing Ryan Ross Hernandez. Well, I don't actually know what they say but I'm sure it'll have something to do with getting laid, getting paid, and getting famous. We know we aren't as good looking as he is, he refused to speak with me and Alex while we recorded because he did not like the fact we had green eyes. Nor do we have the the lovely lips that Arianna from another indie pop group has. We have a master plan; first we give you our EP for free to draw everyone in, then we turn into greedy motherfuckers by the time our full-length album is out. I'm talking about dating the hottest girls around, wearing sunglasses at night, drinking cups of the rose (whatever that is). Anyways... back on track now. We will be sporadically revealing the lyrics to each song on our EP, before the 20th, beginning with one of our personal favorites, Drag It On.

I'm not sure what to say about our sound, other than the fact that we play actual instruments on every song, then build around those to add hip-hop influenced beats and keys. We try to make pop music with heart, that's pretty much all I can say. Best explained when you actually hear it. So, that's it.

Goodbye.

“DRAG IT ON”
Written by: Nathan Castle

Another night I fall asleep to the sound of late-night talk shows
The cars outside are speeding and curving the sidewalks
Then you woke me up, with the sound of a wine bottle breaking
Your speech is slurred and your eyes are red
I can't tell if you got drunk or high
Well maybe it's both since your heart is pounding
Just like it did on your 24th birthday, last year

You slipped off your dress and said
"We are not
No, we are not a perfect fit"
Yes, I know
I'd have to be mad to say we are

Though I can't recall the last time I felt this lost
I've seen enough movies to know
That a guy like me has to struggle 'fore he finds himself

If you feel lost and alone
Or an anchor is pulling you down
Stop dragging your feet
Drag it on
And the sound of your sleep
Be the warmest memory
Drag it on

Drag it on-on-on

You say all my friends are bad kids
'Cause we meet at the end of the night
At a bar in Lower Manhattan
My friends and I, talk on and on
About how our girlfriends' are brats
'Cause we like the upper party, model types

Although it's a nice thought
To think I will change one day
Seeing all of the times I've been cheated on
And it's funny to think
About how many times I've been letdown
I stand up and make love to all your friends
I am not the bitch you want me to be

If you feel lost and alone
Or an anchor is pulling you down
Stop dragging your feet
Drag it on
And the sound of your sleep
Be the warmest memory
Drag it on

Oh
My head is fucked
But the friction in my pants says otherwise
'Cause after all that's the only time I feel right
So just go and let your clothes slip off
Tie your tongue,
Kiss my chest,
Wrap your legs,
Around me now,
Let my fingers grace your thighs
No one's ever gonna stop us now

'Cause now we are
We are a perfect fit
We are the best of kids
We are who we want to be
'Cause even on the day we part
When the time comes and we're in different states
So we go
And find ourselves ba-ba-back home
Tonight

If you feel lost and alone
Or an anchor is pulling you down
Stop dragging your feet
Drag it on
And the sound of your sleep
Be the warmest memory
Drag it on

Drag it on, drag it on-on

Jared: My faith in music is restored, you guys couldn't have come at a better time. Seriously. I will now have to play this EP over and over again until I'm calm, and best of all, it's free! I've always liked a freebie.

Arianna: Jared, you're so dramatic!

Jared: Dramatic, yes, but I speak the truth. I know you feel the same.

Arianna: I don't know, one part in the lyrics makes me giggle though.

Jared: Too predictable.

Ryan: Very impressive debut, young gents. I must say, the bridge is a personal favorite of mine, something about the lyric content draws me toward it... oh. Anyway, as I said, im really diggin' you guys. Interesting bunch of guys, who are thankfully different to the other pencil pushers coming through these days.

Nathan: Gracias, sexy people! That's Spanish for thank you, good looking people. Indie groups like us are made to restore faith in people.

Jason: Yes, hopefully you will like the lyrics just as much when you hear the music behind it.

Nathan: Well Arianna, at least I'm glad a part of the lyrics I wrote made you giggle. Even if the lyrics that were revealed are for the slowest song on the album. Giggling is good, expect during intercourse... that, that would be an awkward experience.

Nathan: Thank you. Please don't tell anyone that we are actually in our mid-to-late twenties. I'm not sure exactly how to categorize my writing style, but the bridge on this song is fun to sing. Especially since that's the falling point, music wise, once you hear the song. Nevertheless, glad you're digging us. Hmm... don't get offended when/if another song on this EP has a reference to boys in swooping haircuts. It's nothing personal, I swear.

“Who Should Be the One”
Written by: Nathan Castle

I have too much on my mind
Sometimes I wonder if she knows
That she's not holding onto much at night
She's counting it all with her fingers
One, two, three, four weeks that I've appeared distant

I'm no longer looking for help
For now I now all of the words
I think about the lies that I've lived
I mean I've never always been like this
I wanna feel something real
I guess my life has become a collage of wishful thinking now
'Cause instead of dining out
I just wanna stay in my bed

What if I hold like I should've?
Would this become a home now?
Well darling if you want to,
You should let it be known

Come on, come on, come on
If you love me then you should let me know
Seeing as you wanna be the one
Who lives up to their full potential

Come out, come out, come out
I know the feeling is hard to show
Seeing as you wanna be the one
Who lives up to their full potential

I think she has enough on her plate
But now she living with no regrets
So I let my mind think that she's different from the rest
As she don't mind driving everywhere
I am not one to hold onto
Even though I crave affection
I think she wants the attention
Like when she hangs out with my friends
Darling, we can't put so much trust in this

Come on, come on, come on
If you love me then you should let me know
Seeing as you wanna be the one
Who lives up to their full potential

Come out, come out, come out
I know the feeling is hard to show
Seeing as you wanna be the one
Who lives up to their full potential

I think I might've loved you but I kinda inhaled too much
Perfume and loathing
So I'll move back south
To some old small town
In Charleston
Oh, when you stare at me
I won't think twice
I'll move back south
To some old small town
In Baton Rouge
When I break your heart
I won't think twice
I'll move back ...

Come on, come on, come on
If you love me then you should let me know
Seeing as you wanna be the one
Who lives up to their full potential

Come on, come on, come on
If you love me then you should let me know
Seeing as you wanna be the one
Who lives up to their full potential

Come out, come out, come out
I know the feeling is hard to show
Seeing as you wanna be the one
Who lives up to their full potential

I think I might've loved you but I kinda inhaled too much

So I'll move back south

Nadia: I can't say that I love any of you guys as a certain someone would probably not be very happy with me if I did. However, I will definitely say that I love your lyrics and I'm looking forward to everything you guys have planned for the future. :)

“Children of Over 25”
Written by: Nathan Castle

I sleep on a stairwell in Brooklyn just waiting for someone to notice
The world is falling outside but it's funny seeing no one cares at all
In my bed there's a stranger, what's her name?
My mind keeps romanticizing my life in stars
I carry a bullet, but I don't own a gun, and so

I put my success ahead of all my friends
I want to meet new women,
And live somewhere new,
And replace my sorrow with green
I put my success ahead of all my friends
I want to meet new women,
And live somewhere new,
And replace my sorrow with green

I woke up in a Vegas chapel last Friday
And I'm scared when I think of all the events that occur in that place
Too many of my friends have an anchor on their finger, that's no way to live
Why are my mistakes sins? Why is it up to them?
Aren't we all, aren't we all suppose to be God's childern?
We'll all die for our own sins,
What kind of father is that?
I will learn from my own sins, thanks for nothing at all
When you think about it, we all just rot on the ground

I put my success ahead of all my friends
I want to meet new women,
And live somewhere new,
And replace my sorrow with green
I put my success ahead of all my friends
I want to meet new women,
And live somewhere new,
And replace my sorrow with green

Maybe I need to learn to not speak so much
I am just a child of over twenty-five
And I'm trying to make a name for myself
A night I breakdown and cry
Call it luck that my parents' are still alive
They've spent most their life fighting with each other
And if fighting's all I know
I will sell my soul
As long as my song lives on forever

I put my success ahead of all my friends
I want to meet new women,
And live somewhere new,
And replace my sorrow with green
I put my success ahead of all my friends
I want to meet new women,
And live somewhere new,
And replace my sorrow with green

Ahead of my friends
Ahead of my friends
My song will live on forever

“A Night in New York City”
Written by: Nathan Castle

Let me breath a different air
I need a moment to see who I wear today
As your girlfriends are in the bathroom
Blowing the sunshine into their veins
I see you arrive in your favorite dress
Just across the crowd
But my side of the booth is no longer there
It's been taken by some hipster with a swooping haircut
Asking my girl who's she with
And I know she'll proudly state it's me
I know it's hard to forget what happened months ago
But as we drink and talk in small
That night creeps into your mind
You know that I'm trying to erase it now
So if you want to drink for two
Then you feel like walking back
I'll be your shoulder to cry on

For once in our lifetime
We are the wild things
Young and rebellious
So give us the night to ignite some fireworks
And we'll shoot further than the stars

Tonight
For once in your lifetime
Be the wild thing
Young and rebellious
So here's the night to ignite some fireworks
And you'll shoot further than the stars

Well no I am not
What you want
Another case of thinking that I
I just might be all that you want tonight
But your friends have found their high
And they are back
So let's drink tonight
'Cause you found your third shoulder

For once in our lifetime
We are the wild things
Young and rebellious
So give us the night to ignite some fireworks
And we'll shoot further than the stars

Tonight
For once in your lifetime
Be the wild thing
Young and rebellious
So here's the night to ignite some fireworks
And you'll shoot further than the stars

Why do we always play this game?
You can't look at my face
Well if you wanna hurt me babe,
You just did again

The crowd is with me
(You can't look at my face)
Give me a chance to fight
(You've hurt me babe)
'Cause I can't compete with all your friends
The sins have subside
(You wanna play this game)
But I still hear the devil
So can someone be my shoulder tonight (tonight)

Tonight
For once in our lifetime
We are the wild things
Young and rebellious
So give us the night to ignite some fireworks
And we'll shoot further than the stars

Tonight
For once in your lifetime
Be the wild thing
Young and rebellious
So here's the night to ignite some fireworks
And you'll shoot further than the stars

So if you want to drink for two
Then you feel like walking back
I'll be your shoulder to lean on
Tonight

“To All the Girls I've Yet to Sleep With” (Intro)
Written by: Nathan Castle

Can we please take a minute
To talk about me
And my hatred for postmodern things
Like trust funds and Florida
Like drug dealers and Starbucks
Fake breasts and gossip sites
I know I can't complain I only have myself to blame
But boys in pop-punk bands
With their swooping haircuts
Are pissing me off
Instagraming pictures of themselves
Oh no

“Boys in swooping haircuts
You all know who you are”

If the tea parties correct
I should buy my kids a gun
And teach them the good values of the lord
“Son, you shouldn't have sex until you're married,
But it better be to a nice, white Christian girl
Who reads the Bible nightly
And only does missionary”

Well I don't believe in miracles
I just believe in what my eyes can see
You should never judge a color of a skin
Don't you ever judge someone by their kin
Never believe in leaders that promise hope and change

These lessons do not matter
Because I wrote you a note
It read:
“Your love
It just doesn't shine enough
I'm looking for sunlight not just twilight
That's why all the flowers you plant have died
I haven't found my own sunlight
But at least I can wear sunglasses now”

This is a message
To all the girls
I've yet to sleep with
