Daft Punk and Avenged Sevenfold certainly aren't punk rock. But meh, I don't really care for punk rock anymore, it's a dying genre. |

Wouldn't call A7X any type of punk (and I'd hardly call them Metal either but that's a different story) and Daft Punk isn't either, but you're missing some real gems here. Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Fugazi, M83. Where's the Ska? Propaghandi, Cerebral Ballzy, Shellac and I Would Set Myself on Fire for You. |

i think we'll have to agree to disagree on that. I'll go ahead & say I'm more on your side of the debate. In fact I'll go on record & agree with Henry Rollins, the best Black Flag record available to buy is The First Four Years, before Rollins was in the band. Nervous Breakdown is my definitive Black Flag track. Personally, I like my punk with more edge & less catchy melodies, so the whole So-Cal pop-punk thing, I can listen to a little but mostly not my thing. I'm more into the 80s hardcore stuff like Black Flag, & crust & anarcho-punk stuff. I don't really want to post videos because this thread is already fucking murder for my poor PC, despite having an alleged 6GB of RAM. Sure doesn't feel like it. So I'll link to tracks on Spotify instead, or put Youtube links when that's not possible. Black Flag - Nervous BreakdownCrass - SecuricorDischarge - State Violence State ControlAnd for a change of pace, The Clash - Complete Control |
