The other day I watched this documentary and it touched me so much that I wanted to make a difference and spread the word about what's going on. The documentary covers the mass slaughter of dolphins - one of the most intelligent species on the planet, who have been shown to have very high self awareness (understanding of themselves) - in a cove in Japan. The killing is said to be for food for Japanese people (yet a dolphin diet would increase the risks of mercury poisoning to you and also has been shown to cause birth defects in children), it's supposed to be a cultural tradition (yet most of the Japenese population aren't aware of it going on), it's supposed to be 'pest control, but I think that says enough on it's own when we're calling a living being as intelligent as a Dolphin a 'pest'. People need to know about it. The charity accepts donations, volenteering, pretty much anything. Please check it out even if you just watch the trailer and spread the word to other forums as well as this. Don't mean to be a spammer or bot or whatever but just wanted to spread the message about this. I know a lot of people on here are very interested in nature and things like this, so I really, really recommend you check out the video and the below link. Link to SAVE THE DOLPHINS |
