Fired UpArtist: Weekend Title: Fired Up From The Album: Fired Up Length: 3:14 Genre: Pop/Dance Written By: S.Vola, P.Reynolds, D.Healy Label: Chaos Records Information'Fired Up' serves as the third single from Australian-British-Irish boyband Weekend's debut album of the same name. The song is a dance/Euro-pop track which is the only dance oriented song on the album. It is one of only few of their songs that were not written by a member of the band, instead it was penned by Stefani Vola alongside song writers, Dylan Healy and Patrick Reynolds. 'Fired Up' was one of the last songs to be recorded by Weekend before the album was released. Recorded in their basement from 2am on a winter Wednesday morning, the song was really stressful to record for the boys as they were too tired to put in the all the energy needed for this dance anthem. Originally, it was Oscar who sang the chorus but after hearing it back, they didn't think his voice suited the dance oriented songs and that he sounds best on the more rock-pop tracks. Now at 5:30am (without even having a little nap) they re-recorded the song with Dustyn on the chorus. The result was great and after several hours of straining their voices on the one song and not going to sleep for a very long period of time, the boys took a well deserved rest. 'Fired Up' is a fan favourite from the album and was always rumoured to be a single since the release of 'Smile About It'The TrackThe track suddenly plays and bursts into life with a loud, racing and attention grabbing synth. It plays for approximately 10 seconds before Oscar sings the opening lines. His voice is deeper than normal but still keeps his rocky type vocals, almost sounding very alluring. Without a break in between, Billy continues straight on afterwards and sings the next line, his voice in a slightly higher pitch than Oscar's, Billy's voice is known to be very 'urban' and therefore sings in that manner, when he sings the word; 'dawn', his voice deepens. The backing track ever so sightly quietens down as Dustyn sings the prechorus. His voice is higher than it normally is however he still sings with his beautiful unique throaty voice and his Irish accents still comes through whilst singing. As the chorus starts the synth get heavier and almost pound as Dustyn sings over them. His voice goes very fast, singing on line after the other without pausing or taking a break, the chorus is very racey and it seems to get the adrenaine pumpingCommentsOscarFired Up is a song that will forever be in my heart. So many things surround this song, the very memorable dragged out recording of it, learning the tough dance routine, it's the only dance song we've done plus we love it so much we named our album after it! Now, I think this song is the only one on the abum I don't get a huge solo part on but I think it's nice to let the fans hear different voices and mix it up more. Also, this was chosen as a single not just because it's a fan favourite, but because it will hopefully show the people who bash us that we don't just sing mushy love songs about girls!RileyNot one for dance music but this song has a place in my heart. I'm sure the other boys will tell you that recording this song was far from easy. We put our blood, sweat and tears into this track literally! Well....not literally but you get what I mean. I adore this song as it's full of energy and has a great dance routin in the upcoming video which I'm sure you'll love. Like our debut single, this one is just fun filled and nothing to take seriously. People want a dance song to make them feel good and this is exactly what we gave them. Nothing more, nothing less.DustynYay I really like this song and I'm so so so glad we all chose it as the third single! At first, I was dreading re-recording the song as Oz originally had the chorus and with him being the lead singer it was a daunting prospect having to try to match him vocally. However, I enjoyed it so much and although it's quite hard to perform live having to do the energetic dance whilst singing the chorus super fast in the one breath, it is a lot of fun. This song is really cool to me as it's one you could play in a dark nightclub in London but at the same time wouldn't seem out of place being played at a beach party on a bright summer's day. It HAD to be a single and like I say, I'm so glad it's been released. Enjoy! xBillyAh the song that nearly killed us all! Despite all the troube recording it, it was totally worth it. I was skeptical at first when we were handed the song because of it's genre and we wanted to be marketed as a rock pop group, even simply teen pop. We didn't want to do the song at first as it seemed everyone was doing the whole dance stuff but there was just something about Fired Up that we were drawn to. Although I only sing a line, I do enjoy performing the song as the whole crowd interact and are LOUD when it comes to the chorus. It's definitely anthem like on many levels with it's boasting lyrics and pounding beat. Like Riley says, it's nothing to take too seriously. Just enjoy...ScottThis single is one I love. This is the first time I've really been given a good sized solo part to sing, I want to thank the boys for letting me do it! This song is just one that grabd your attention from the start, it gets the heart racing, the adrenaline pumping.....actually it sounds like I'm promoting Red Bull......anyway, it's a fun song haha. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do. And remember what Weekend tell you; have fun!!!!! :DFIRED UPChorusOSCARRILEYBILLYSCOTTDUSTYNI’ve been waiting patiently for you to come and pass me by Been waiting so long to get you here by sideSo can we dance and party til we break the da-aw-aw-aw-awnNobody can do it as well as I can N-no one can touch me when I hear my jam We are young, so we give a damn You better get set For the rhythm in your headI’m all fired up and ready to go I’m ready to run the show I’m all fired up gonna lose control Gonna make those speakers blow Oh yeah, I say; I’m all fired up and ready to go I’m ready to run the show I’m all fired up gonna lose control Gonna make those speakers blow-oh Oh you know, oh oh oh oh Oh you know, you’ve got me fired...Up and down, all around I’ve come to invade the floor I ain’t sorry for it baby that’s just how I roll Come take me hand, I promise you won’t regret a thi-i-i-i-ingNobody can do it as well as I can N-no one can touch me when I hear my jam We are young, so we give a damn You better get set For the rhythm in your headI’m all fired up and ready to go I’m ready to run the show I’m all fired up gonna lose control Gonna make those speakers blow Oh yeah, I say; I’m all fired up and ready to go I’m ready to run the show I’m all fired up gonna lose control Gonna make those speakers blow-oh Oh you know, oh oh oh oh Oh you know, you’ve got me fired...Up, we’re going to the top I can’t get enough Don’t want it stop (uh-uh-op) Fire it up Get ready to rock We ain’t gonna sto-o-opRewind the track, yeah bring it right back Come into my world, come feel it (feel it) Don’t be afraid to lose it just do it Put your hands up feel the sky-ahNobody can do it as well as I can N-no one can touch me when I hear my jam We are young, so we give a damn You better get set For the rhythm in your headI’m all fired up and ready to go I’m ready to run the show I’m all fired up gonna lose control Gonna make those speakers blow Oh yeah, I say; I’m all fired up and ready to go I’m ready to run the show I’m all fired up gonna lose control Gonna make those speakers blow-oh Oh you know, oh oh oh oh Oh you know, you’ve got me fired...
