Mark smirks. "Oh so my cooking isn't good enough, huh?" he jokes. "Nah, but really, you should let me make your Christmas dinner. It would be nice. It could be my gift to you." He smiles at her and then nods nervously. "Maybe we should tell her together. You know, so she knows we're taking it seriously and not rushing in. It might put her at ease a little." He sighs a little and holds her hand again. He was still ashamed of what he had done. "I'm not gonna hurt you this time though. I promise. I know I did in the past...but I had my little crazy turn. Now I know you're all I could ever want, Layla." He gives her another soft kiss on the lips.

"I do insist," Mark says with a smile. He was determined to prove to her that he could be worthy of a second chance. Layla had always been so good to him, and this time around he wanted to prove that he could be good to her too. "Awesome. We should do it when Scott isn't home too. He has no desire to see me happy," Mark muses. "I'm glad you're happy though, Layla. I'm very happy. I never thought I'd get the chance to be with you again. I'm so glad I have." When she kisses him, Mark leans in, allowing himself to be drawn in by her passion. One of his hands moves to her back as they kiss, holding her. As Mark enjoyed the taste and touch of Layla's lips, he hears her moan a little against him, which makes him step a little closer. It was a moan that was still so familiar to him. Despite his two month relationship with Nadia, Layla was still the only girl Mark had ever had sex with, so he knew so much about her and her reactions. As they kiss, he places one hand gently on her leg, thinking it was what she wanted and knowing it was what he did.

"Help? Please woman, it's your treat. I'll do it all," he says with a little smile. Mark was pleased that things were getting back to normal so quickly and it definitely showed their love had never gone away. "Yeah it's serious. I think he thinks I disrespect him by wanting to go solo, and he hates me for it." Mark shrugs. Scott had always been his buddy, his brother, but he had been acting so childish and jealous lately and Mark wasn't sure he could take it. As she kisses him deeper, Mark closes his eyes and just gets lost in her lips. He couldn't think of anywhere he'd rather be than with Layla at that moment. He holds her close as he allows his free hand to gently rub her thigh. He could tell Layla had missed him, and he had definitely missed her body as well. They had learned together what each other liked, and it would be impossible for either of them to find something so meaningful elsewhere. When she asks him to promise, Mark nods. There were no more doubts in his mind now. "I promise, Lay. I made the mistake of leaving once and it was the worst mistake of my life. I would never make that mistake again. I promise I'll never leave." He brings both hands to her hips as he kisses her passionately and deeply to show her just how much he meant it.

Mark smiles a little at the comment Layla made about Scott. She never saw bad in anyone, which was sweet in a way. "Nah, not this time. I think we're done. There hasn't even been an attempt to sort it from either of us." When Layla pulls away, Mark is a little hurt, and when she says she's confusing things, he assumes she means she doesn't want to get back with him after all. "Oh...oh, sorry," he says quietly. He shrugs a little and then takes his cigarettes from his pocket, removing one from the pack with his lips as he stares at the counter, embarrassed.

"Stubborn? That's the word for Scott yeah. I'm more...easygoing. I'm not going to go out of my way to make him talk to me though." Mark was confused. He had thought Layla wanted to get back with him again, and now it seemed like she didn't. He wasn't very experienced in love, so he often got the wrong end of the stick. He didn't know what he had done wrong, but whatever it was had changed her mind and now she didn't want him. He lights his cigarette and takes a slow puff of it. "No. I'm sorry. I guess I just got the wrong end of the stick," Mark says sadly, his hopes seemingly crushed again.

Mark looks over at her with sadness in his eyes. Was it really already over before anything had even begun? He takes a drag of his cigarette as he listens to her before he narrows his eyes. "Wait....sex? Layla I wasn't trying to have sex with you. I was just kissing you." he shakes his head and scoffs a little. "You know me, sex isn't the be all and end all. I told you, I'll take it as slow as you need." Mark laughs a little. He had thought Layla wanted sex, but clearly not. But to Mark, being with her had always been about way more than sex, and all he wanted was a chance to try to get their relationship back. He smiles at her and holds his hand out. "I think we got some crossed wires here, Lay. All I want is to be back with you. All I want is a second chance to prove myself to you."

"Have I ever been sex obsessed?" Mark jokes, before going quiet. He could see that she was still upset. Something had definitely changed. "Ok..no problem. Do you want me to go and come back another time then?"

Mark smiles at her. The two were being a little cautious and anxious around each other, for obvious reasons, but he wished they weren't. "It's alright, Layla. Let's forget that ever happened." he stands up. "I'll stay. It's ok. What room do you want me to move into for now?"

Mark smiles and nods. "That's not harsh, that's fine. I can stay in there, yeah. The bed's pretty sweet in there so I don't mind." He guessed that Layla was being guarded, and he made a mental note not to push anything with her. He knew it would take time, but he was prepared to wait for her to get her feelings back. Even if she didn't, he would understand. "You don't have to prepare it, it's alright. I can manage." he smiles at her again.

"It's fine, Layla. I need to find where everything is again, anyway." he smiles and rubs her arm gently. He was glad to be back home again. The apartment he had been in for the past few months was a bit too flashy for his liking. It was Scott's place, so it was filled with so many luxuries he could barely move. He was much more comfortable being here at home.
