Quote:Christopher - Red Dennis - Purple Brian - Blue Jerry - Green All (Falsetto) - Black [Italic] All - Black [Bold] Chorus - Bold/Italic The Stat Nerds. Do you remember them? At one point this boy band quad made up of the good looking and sometimes brash members were forecasted to be a force to be reckon with on the charts after winning a contract as the first act to be signed to then then up and coming label "Shooting Aces" records. Things were looking all the more positive for them especially when their debut single "Going On" became a radio hit almost two years ago. With the sleeper hit picking up on airwaves and the boys garnering a considerable growing and large fan base, why is it that the boys simply vanished? Where have they gone, and so fast? If you were wondering, then reading this write now was the right choice for you. Shooting Aces Records eventually went bankrupt nearing the middle of 2011 and their anticipated debut album release "Want To Be" was suppose to hit stores in May of 2011 but instead was released online for free as the label didn't even have enough to fund the pressing of discs of the album to be distributed to retail stores, let alone enough to fund promotion for the band before the albums release. With their fanbase still easily by their side a contract was almost as predictable as a WWE wrestling match, but after the album was released The Stat Nerds were in a long contractual battle with Lawrence Matlock over the publishing rights to the group. Causing the boys to go completely quiet in handling their legal troubles. In the end, the boys kept their name and their publishing rights and easily got back to business on making their presence known in the industry once again. As soon as the boys jumped back onto the scene, and with the support of many interested and potential fans as well as the fans who have stood by them, the Stat Nerds have easily been able to bring a buzz about as they get ready to release their new music for all of the listeners. Chris, Dennis , Jerry and Brian announced that they have been working on new material to release and if they didn't get the industry buzzing then it was the birth of the brash attitudes that the boys have been adorning that has done the job. Especially when starting a campaign "Ready For Weekend" which has been quoted to mean "being excited to enjoy the weekend" just as it sounds but. Some have taken this as a shot to another boy band that is on the seen and whether or not it's symbolic to any other band, who isn't ready for a weekend after a long and exasperating week full of school, work and tiredness. Aside from causing an uproar about that, the boy bands wildboy Jerry Holmes has been getting on either the really good side, or really bad side of people skin with his overly flirty mannerisms and has ruffled the feathers of a few respected peoples. But that doesn't stop him, and certainly doesn't stop the group as a whole. Being signed by Studio 60 Records rather quickly, the boys look to soar as they get back and to finally find their spot. On top. "Ready For The Weekend" is the first single taken off of the soon to be titled sophomore album by boy band The Stat Nerds. The track starts off automatically with long and lengthy synths in the background, swaying behind bouncy and quick keyboard notes that whistle relentlessly over a non existent backing beat, that just consists of the swaying synths and electric guitar riffs that move along quickly with the keyboards and synths for the beginning seven seconds of this single, automatically and pulsating backing beat begins to pound quickly behind the keyboards and synths and out comes Chris's vocals. Chris has this captivating vocals that has a pinch of forcefulness with a raspy touch, he sings quick paced over this relentless beat. The evening is upon us and the strip is gleaming bright|We’re getting ready to move all through the night|Girl get your party shoes on|Let’s dance until the night has gone; Encouraging a girl to get ready for a night of partying, as soon as Chris if finished; Automatically Dennis begins to sing the next part of the song. There's something enjoyable about Dennis's vocals, they sound lighter then Chris's but more cocky and brash as he murmurs in a faced paced manner; Short skirts and diamond rings|The beat is never ending|Just like the songs we sing|Everybody’s drinking the night away|Hold me close by your side|This is what we’ll say. The keys boards remain at the same pace, as the synths swaying along while Dennis's part goes on gets louder and as soon as he's finished a menacing swooshing sound makes its way quickly onto the track with the keyboards stopping quickly, signaling the song's pre hook. After the quite looking swoosh is heard, the relentless keyboards make it's way onto the track as a more recognizable and extremely catchy backing beat mixes perfectly with that of the keyboards as the boys all join in as one, letting go of their chest voices and go into a surprising falsetto register. They voices move along perfectly together in a quite high pitched coo as the beat moves quickly; Ooooh yeah girl, get ready for the weekend|Ooooh yeah girl, we don’t need to pretend|Ooooh yeah girl, I know what you don’t need|Ooooh yeah girl, we know they’ll make your ears bleed|On the weekend; Christopher Hudson, Dennis Shaw, Brian Bodkin, Jerry Holmes sing as one in falsetto as they tell their listener to get ready for the weekend, and that a someone, not disclosed will make their ears bleed. Once again, that surprising swoosh comes about once again, and the song bursts heavily into it's chorus. The keyboards move accordingly as electric synths come about and make one with a relentless dance backing beat making the chorus sound quite "big". Automatically the boys sing their parts of the chorus to the tee. First Chris followed by the other boys speak in a confident, sexy manner. They each coo out over the beat at their turn about being ready, and enjoying the weekend but the person has to abide by their rules for the weekend: Darling I don’t know everything about you|I don’t even have to; Followed by Dennis: I ain’t gonna smile about it, I ain’t gonna scream and shout it|and then Jerry: So if you’re fired up| Then lock it up and lastly Brian :Just turn that music way down low| We could be together. They all come together as one to harmonize the final line "But there’s something that you need to know". As they finish singing this, the synths slow down and move back into it's slowly pace, as the chorus and backing beat completely take over. The boys stop singing and the keyboard notes then move relentlessly, and then moves relentlessly once again with the backing beat. After that, the songs regular keyboard notes go back into place with the backing beat and the light but quick guitar riffs as Jerry's vocals come about. There's something special about his voice, as it sounds like strong alto as he sings arrogantly like typical Jerry: If you wanna be my friend|You’ve gotta be ready for the weekend Give up your crushes on all of those little boys|Throw them away like unwanted toys|It’s time to get with a real man|And baby this is our plan; as he tells the girls to be ready for the weekend and to get rid of those unwanted boys in verse two of the song. The beat stays at the same pace and you are brought to the pre chorus, when once again the boys move into the falsetto register of this now massively addictive song. After the pre chorus the bouncing synths, unleashing backing beat and keyboards take over for the chorus once more as they each sing their parts respectively. "Darling I don’t know everything about you|I don’t even have to; Followed by Dennis: I ain’t gonna smile about it, I ain’t gonna scream and shout it|and then Jerry: So if you’re fired up| Then lock it up and lastly Brian :Just turn that music way down low| We could be together| But there’s something that you need to know. They all come together as one to harmonize the final line. They all come together once more as the song goes into the bride and the boys go falsetto. Once they move out of falsetto the keyboards go completely missing and a quite eerie menacing backing beat is heard with long synths that soar along for the bridge. Brian is heard for the first time and his voice holds something quite unique as well, and especially with the eerie beat, he speaks out but also sounds as if he's singing as his vocals echo behind him. Jerry takes off where he finishes arrogantly And we don't need no Chaos Awards! |Not when there's so much more to enjoy |When it's weekend;| Speaking about the Chaos Awards and saying it's not comparable to enjoying exactly when the weekend does come along. Jerry's vocals echo behind him with this eerie breakdown, and Brian takes it over once more Now stand up, scream and shout |It's time for you to say it aloud Get ready, get ready |It's time for you to say it aloud; The eerie breakdown begins to start sounding like it's building for it's last chorus. Soon as Brian is finished, the song bursts into it's chorus with the keyboards picking back up and relentlessly whistling over and over again with the quick backing beat and synths. After the first time it's sung, the keyboards move even faster with the beats quickly stopping and then beginning again this time the last chorus sounding even harder than before as Brian, Dennis and Chris sing high notes behind some of the lines in the final chorus with them harmonizing the final line and then yelling out the final line of the song: Ooooh yeah girl, get ready for the weekend|. As the song comes to a haunting stop. As if the Stat Nerds haven't been climbing their way back up for some now, they finally deliver their offering since last year "Going On" in this danceable and addictive tune that seems pretty lyrically symbolic and brash not to mention is getting a chance to recognize the vocal ability of the boys. Could it put them back on the ranks? What do you think about the song? Let us know! The evening is upon us and the strip is gleaming bright We’re getting ready to move all through the night Girl get your party shoes on Let’s dance until the night has goneShort skirts and diamond rings The beat is never ending Just like the songs we sing Everybody’s drinking the night away Hold me close by your side This is what we’ll sayOoooh yeah girl, get ready for the weekend Ooooh yeah girl, we don’t need to pretend Ooooh yeah girl, I know what you don’t need Ooooh yeah girl, we know they’ll make your ears bleed On the weekend Darling I don’t know everything about you I don’t even have to I ain’t gonna smile about it I ain’t gonna scream and shout it So if you’re fired up Then lock it up Just turn that music way down low We could be together But there’s something that you need to knowIf you wanna be my friend You’ve gotta be ready for the weekend Give up your crushes on all of those little boys Throw them away like unwanted toys It’s time to get with a real man And baby this is our planOoooh yeah girl, get ready for the weekend Ooooh yeah girl, we don’t need to pretend Ooooh yeah girl, I know what you don’t need Ooooh yeah girl, we know they’ll make your ears bleed On the weekend Darling I don’t know everything about you I don’t even have to I ain’t gonna smile about it I ain’t gonna scream and shout it So if you’re fired up Then lock it up Just turn that music way down low We could be together But there’s something that you need to knowOoooh yeah girl, get ready for the weekend Ooooh yeah girl, we don’t need to pretend Ooooh yeah girl, I know what you don’t need Ooooh yeah girl, we know they’ll make your ears bleed On the weekend Now if you're ready for the Weekend Let me hear you scream! Just throw your hands up We'll be making a scene And we don't need no Chaos Awards! Not when there's so much more to enjoy When it's the weekend Now stand up, scream and shout It's time for you to say it aloud Get ready, get ready It's time for you to say it aloud
Darling I don’t know everything about you I don’t even have to I ain’t gonna smile about it I ain’t gonna scream and shout it So if you’re fired up Then lock it up Just turn that music way down low We could be together But there’s something that you need to knowDarling I don’t know everything about you (oooh nooo) I don’t even have to I ain’t gonna smile about it (Ain't gonna smile about it baaabaay!)
