"Alive. Which is always nice. Got a beautiful girl on my arm here as you can see." He kissed Roxy gently. "You got hitched I hear! Nice to see you with her. Any girl that marries you is a hell of a woman. Besides that, been busy. Working on my new music venue, talking to our old producer that did our records for us back when we were still 18 and stupid, and trying to get Mr. Zeke in the studio for three good ones. The guy can keep you up all night with all the stories he has. We played with him once on tour. You were pretty shit faced so I don't think you recall. Business and work mostly. Getting my solo act and Nobody's Darlings together to form a big revue band. I think it'll be our last big go round. I wanna commit to what we got going here. That and Joe has his kid along with another one on the way. He wants to spend more time being a dad. That's respectable. Next to you Joe's been my friend since we were old enough to walk. We promised each other back when we started that if any body ever quit that we wouldn't replace them and keep going. Being together for so long just formed a bond that can't be broken and nobody else can fill you know?" He seemed pretty down mentioning that last part. But some good things didn't always last. Then he nodded and took another sip from the jar handing it to Roxy to have a taste. His arm swung back and stay locked around her shoulders. |

"New York City!" He said it with the inflection of those cowboys in those old salsa commercials. "I can't really see you fitting in New York City with all those stuffy uptight urbanites. But I wish you the best!" He shrugged when he mentioned Roxy. "Charm, Mr. Hess. It's all I had. Certainly not my award winning personality." Then he laughed and nodded feeling the warmth come over him after a while of a good alcohol buzz. "You gotta see the studio downstairs and I really don't want you over at the new venue until it's done. Hell I want you to christen it by playing the first show there." |

erich cracks up at the salsa reference,spilling a little of his drink on himself. "well,shit. "he says looking down at his wet crotch. " new york is a change. but i actually enjoy it a lot. we got a great place there.you guys should come see it. you too can be depressed at the urban sprawl!" he takes another sip and laughs. "charm,you got it by the spadeful,i almost didnt want to bring ada with me,you slick bastard you." erich laughs throughly enjoying seeing his friend from many adventures. "hell yeah i'd like to see that studio and i'd be a poor excuse for a human being if i turned down the offer for your venue. you want atomic war bride or some other project?" |

OOC: Musical Theatre minor comment: When I hear "new york city" I think of RENT when they talk about how awful New York City is and how wonderful Santa Fe is (and I hate Santa Fe with a passion, so that's stupid), and the drag queen character goes, "New... York City..." Like in a really half-hearted way and I'm not sure why I'm explaining all of this to you PART OF THE GROUP I'M PART OF THE GROUP.
Ada and Roxy both stay quiet while the men speak, passing looks at each other, and giggling at the men being men. They both follow their respective others downstairs to the studio.
"Hey, I'm Roxy," She whispers to Ada, not wanting to interrupt the men.
"I am Ada... I knew your name started with an R. I refered to you as Roxanne the whole way here..."
"Yeah... Just don't do that anymore, cool?"
"Got it."

He was finally adjusting to have Roxy around after she had moved in. Meeting her dad had gone better than he had expected. All he had to do was lay on that "gee golly gosh" southern boy charm and it worked pretty well. Too an extent really. The first nice sleeping with Roxy was heavenly and waking up to the smell of breakfast in the morning was also pretty nice. Even the family that was around liked her company. Even his Uncle Clyde and his uncouthness had taken to her. She had been there for the recording process of his last album and commiserated with him at the parting of his best friends. The last few weeks had been very good. Now he was sitting on the back porch staring out into the stretch of woods. Guitar in his lap and a beer on the side table next table. Reveling in the niceties of actually settling down with someone. He'd never thought it would ever happen. Where was Roxy? She had disappeared on a run out to pick up some chinese takeout in town. It was easy to get lost around here. Looks like she still hadn't had the lay of the land yet. That'll come he figured. |

Roxy finally makes her way back to the house, Chinese in a bag in her hand, absolutely starving. The smell of Chinese food was killing her. "Johnny, darlin'?" She calls out as she steps inside.
