The four girls stand proudly in this shoot to now standing strong in their possible first club hit.
The girls who has won over music hearts with their rough and tough attuides towards boys is now in for their first mega- hit. The four girls who emerged in the music scene earlier last year with their hit single, ' Without You Boy' has been shining thought their flawless and strong female dominate vocals and sound. Earlier this week, 4U Girls released ' Urban Knockout' the hip-hop record that was produced from heavyweight producer Jermaine Dupree and XROCKA. The overbearing uptempo features some of 4U experiential urban/R&B sound from their unreleased material from ' Endless Dopeness' mixtape. The very hip and fun track has the concept of the girls knocking out all female groups or even males in the urban or pop genre of music. " They are not getting cocky... they just know what they want.." DJ's from New York clubs and Atlanta has spinned this record more than 10 tens in one night of attendance with the club-goers. " It's a hit.. everyone is in the club dancing, sweating and this song when it comes on, keeps people on the dance floor and they want more from the girls.." DJ Glow said of Atlanta's Club Glow. " To see that people are really getting down in the club, it can be died and all of sudden, this bass and this fire sound comes on and shines though the stereos and it just has that edge to it that makes you wanna dance.. it gives you so much energy and confidence.." New York's Fire Wall, one of the top club in New York owner Chris Walker said. Besides the girls sassy vocals in the track, some of the lyrics feature, you really make me feel/make me feel/this urban knock-out/ The more exciting part of this record is the constant sound change in between chorus and verses. " It gives you the excitement because it's such an ride during the song, it slows you down on the dance floor for you to stop sweating but soon as you think it's over, they give you more and more and it gives you this sense of freedom with the record.." a club goer said. Also let's discuss the overall lyrics. " I think they are so girly and so compeptive. The lyrics are fun and easy, it's so catchy but at the same time, lyrically it fits well with the production of the record." Jermaine Dupree said. The excitement and thrill this song gives club is not usual for an starting female group. " It's weird because you could have sworn they was here for a while now.." the recent club in Los Angeles witnessed the riot the crowd gave. " At first, they were real like 'what the fuck is this..' we dont know this song, what is is.. but soon as we mixed the intro in.. it was all over.. the whole crowd on walls was dancing and they requested it four or five times out-though the night.." a source said. Manager of 4U Girls said, " I thought it was a good idea to hand it to DJ'S in clubs because that's why you get that popularity up with the record and get the girls heard on an national level... the label is great but we have to work just as hard for the girls.." Groups in pop music now like The Weekend is the phemontal boy band that is one of pop's music biggest group. " They have music power, they have success.. anything The Weekend touches turns to gold because of their industry and star music power.. we want that for the girls but we have to slowly do that so we can do it right and hard.." manager said. The record was sent out to digitally and radio's just this week and yet to make a debut on the charts but the overwhelming attention of the nightlife may just pass at 4U's first mega- hit that will shot them to stardom. " It's fun, funky and fresh, no one is doing that in the industry..." XROCKA said. " I think it's easy for a girl group to write love songs and heartbreak music.. but they are having fun and doing it in a unique way.. they are dope.." a fan said. With the sweating, the fashionable men and woman of nightlife, ready to let loose and dance to some of the hottest house and pop music is now claiming 4U'S Urban Knockouts as ' springs club banger' of 2013. " I really think the summer will be the season of the girls, they are workin' on music that will begin to start a bigger riot.." Stefani of Kiss My Pop said. Is this the girls' start of stardom or the downfall of the album? Tell us your thoughts. To listen to 4U's new banger, listen here:
Name: Urban Knockouts Produced By: Jermaine Dupree, XROCKA. Recorded In: December 2012 Recorded In: Atlanta Genre: Urban Length: 4:50 Release: Febuary 18th 2013 Label: Kiss My Pop Introuduction ' Urban Knockouts' is an track produced by XROCKA and Jermaine Dupree. 4U Girls recorded an mixtape titled ' Endless Dopeness' at the end of the last year and was suppose to be released to the public for hearing. They decided to keep the tracks from the mixtape so they can be released as promo singles before the album. They wanted the fans to have music and videos to entertain them because the album isnt going to be released rumored until the middle of summer of 2013. The girls has choosen this uptempo and hip-hop influenced dance track to get their ' Toughies" the feel of war and freedom at their dreams and visions, but most importantly it's an strong athem to the world of music that the girls are here to fight, start war and dominate the world of urban music. The strong and confident ladies show just that in this record, featuring hype vocals from Jermaine Dupree and voices of chats and sounds of fighting, screaming and a huge bassline that features so strongly in the song but sounds as if the bass is breaking glass in a echo of a arena, the composition of the song goes so well with the concept of the record. XROCKA designed the complicated arrangement of the song and vocal style that the girls has to sing all the verses in one breath, similar to (Beyonce- Who Run the World Girls) verses. The song will be set to radio's and digital on Febuary 18th. Composition
The track begins with a sound of fighting for a few seconds, invanding the sound of fighting is a loud sound of sirens and then sounds of walking with heels on the ground. The track begins with those sound effects to create the enviorment of the story the girls are telling in the record. After the :40 seconds of the intro of the track, it goes to a high and banging club brassline that does four counts of brassline then a clap. It does it for :30 seconds before the dance mix with the brassline and sythns of a hip-hop bass and snitching of a mixing disc is heard in the background and Jermiane Dupree's voice saying, " you aint ready.. 4U Girls" the sound of the disc snatching, similar to a DJ mixing tracks in a night club, XROCKA mixed the sound of the girls heels walking on the floor until the brassline and clap. The track moves forward with the dance mix does seperate sythns with the previous effects in the beginning, to the liftout of: (the beginning of this instrumental) with the chats from people screaming from a far distance, screaming: YEAH 4U, 4U, 4U 4U, 4U! While the liftout is still able to shine with the brassline being so hard, the deep announcer that is said by Jermaine says, " Calm down now, coming to the ring is the only urban princesses, give it up for 4U GIRLS!" the liftout repeats itself, to moments where it will stop to the sound of the heels hitting the floor that is mixed so well during the intro with the brassline and low sirens. After the liftout comes to the official instrumental that features the vibe and uptempo club sythns of hard hitting drums and exciting patterns of bass and club hitting patterns of drums, claps and brassline. Jermaine added a little hip-hop flavor to the type when during the pre-chrous the hard bassfront stops, to the silence of the girls singing in the background, to the low and beautiful melody of the voices all coming together before the bassfront rushing the girls to the main and energetic chrous keeps alive with the sound of fighting, screaming and sirens mixed during the chrous. During the verses, the girls are powerful and quick verse wise, you can hear them clearly between the brassline and bassfront that over shadows the effects in the background. Something great happens with XROCKA wrote this quick part of the arrangement where the girls basically screams this but control their ranges in their vocals before going in to more verses of the record, it sounds like the fast paced chats similar to (staring at 1:08- 1:15) after the quick arrangement, the instrumental stops to Jermaine's annoucement, " we aint done yet! let's go!" the liftout repeats again before being mixed into the official instrumental, all coming together in the chrous and Jermaine's hype vocals in the back. The crowd of voices say, " back up" to the girls finishing the rest of the lines in the pre-chrous. Jermaine's screams " oooweeeeee" over the top and laughs after it. It's becomes a club banger when Jermaine's Owee's and Yeah's are over the top. During the second verse, " Oh damn" are voices of little girls in a high pitch voice before the girls complete the verse line. The chrous are a normal pace, going along with the sythns of harmony of the instrumental patterns during the chrous that are different from the verses. During the bridge, the official instrumental starts to fade slowly before the quick arrangement instrumental is heard slowly approching with the bassline and front is now silent. The quick arrangement (Ciara- Got me Good) is now faster. The words " back up" is heard by little girls when the seperate girls complete the lines mixed with their regular strong toned vocals and robotic effects to their voices and Jermaine's chuck and energetic "ooooweee's" and " let's go!" in the background during the bridge and sometimes during the chrous. The bridge is quick. The record gets silent but dont leave the track, the dance mix like the intro eariler in the track is heard, faster and more vibitic, it's quickly changes into the official instrumental to the girls all energetic belting out the chrous lines and doing mixed adlibs. The track ends with Jermaine's " oooweee, now, that was hot.." Lyrical Meaning *colors highlighted are the colors of the lyrics of who is singing what* The girls wrote this in the studio with Jermaine during the tour with Aubrey Mikkel when they had one of their most successful shows. They went into the studio days after to record it. " It's something fun and energetic, it's us, bitches that in the club and we had fun with this and the production is so dope. We wanted something fun and hip to go with the sound.." Danielle said.
Aubrei- I think I had so much fun vocally with this because my little pitched voice was just sexy and appealing in this record and I had so much fun writing it with my girls. It became one of my most favorite on the EP, just because it showed the hip and sassy attuides so well in the track. It was fun, but yet so epic because of the production.
Bianca- All I got to say is the lyrics are just so fitted with the sound of the track overrall... it all mixed and came together at the end of the recording.. this is a dope record..
Laci- I got to shine vocally and lyrically. Jermaine really gave us a chance to explore and have fun and go over the top if we wanted and be sassy, he gave it so much life at the end that the lyrics are so powerful and smart, the sound of the record is already so powerful and hip, the lyrics are just the additional arrangement that made the track even more doper.
