Title: Too Far From Home Acoustic Released: June 23rd, 2013 Recorded: December 2012-January 2013 Label: Studio60 Records Genre: Acoustic Country-Pop Length: 61:02"Too Far From Home Acoustic" is the debut acoustic/remix album by American singer-songwriter Ellie-Grace Summers. The album features both acoustic versions and live versions from her second studio album "Too Far From Home" (2012), including two new songs that were recorded in December, 2012 as well. On the album, the songs contains songs that were put on the album are songs that were recorded while Ellie sung them with an acoustic guitar. Also, some of the songs that were put on the album were recorded when Ellie performed on Columbian singer-songwriter Isabel Merjos' 'Dancing in the Dark Tour'. The album also features songs and lyrics about homesickness that could be directly related to Ellie’s own more recent feelings having left California to return home, “It’s an emotion that many people have felt before, it’s rough when you don’t have those things that you’ve always had around you anymore, but it’s something that we all have to do. When you’re becoming an adult you have to leave home and do the whole independent thing and it’s different and exciting but it can also be scary and lonely at times and I certainly don’t think it’s something to be taken lightly. We all get a little lost along the way but it’s what we learn in the process that really shapes the person that we become, I’ve learnt a lot from being in California but I was scared that I was losing my identity a little, I didn’t just want to be another person that’s most famous for being famous or for dating someone more famous than myself, I want to be known first and foremost for my achievements as a musician and songwriter, that’s all that I really hope for.” The album was recorded while Ellie was on a break from Isabel's tour in December of 2012. It serves as the first album that Ellie recorded on a tour and is her first acoustic-only release. Also, the release of the album fulfills all contract agreements with Studio60 Records and is the last album to be released under her two-album contract with the label. Ellie joined Studio60's roster after the release of her debut self-titled studio album and the subsequent closure of former label ‘Monk On Fire Music’. The lead single from the actual album ‘Wishing You Would’ which was released on July 1st, 2012 and peaked at number #3 on the singles chart, are included in the tracklist of this album. Also, her single 'All Good Things' which featured Ryan Williams and peaked at number one on the Top 20 Digital Charts (becoming her first number one hit) are included in the album as well. The album was recorded between December 2012 and January 2013 and is set for a worldwide release date on April 14th, 2013. In November 2012, Ellie-Grace Summers already begun to project what her next release in her career would be. At that time period in November, demands for a new single release by Ellie were high. Ellie however, didn't choose to release a new single off of her second studio effort. This was because she knew exactly what her next step was - and that was to release her first acoustic album. At first, Ellie's initial plans were to start work on her third studio album shortly after she finished touring as a support act on Isabel's 'Dancing in the Dark Tour'. Shortly after, she soon changed her mind and opted to record an acoustic version of her second album 'Too Far From Home'. Ellie finished the recording of this album in early January. Edited by user 17 June 2013 13:55:55(UTC)
