Pixie Illusion Imagine Brian Ziff Titanic Records 2013 Music Video BackgroundThe video was directed by Brian Ziff and will premiere April 3rd on Pixie's official Vevo channel. The video features Pixie shown walking down a street with multiple lights and people passing her by and was also shot in two different versions, 2D and 3D. Pixie says the direction of the video was co-directed by her and Ziff so she could get the end result she wanted rather than accepting any idea thrown at her. She wanted to make the 3D version the official version and the 2D version as the uncensored and 'second' version of it. The video was shot in her home country of Finland where she shot her last video for Walk Alone. Pixie describes the video as 'inspirational' and 'really hits the nail on the head as to the point I'm trying to make with my lyrics and the point I'm trying to make'. The video begins with Pixie standing in front of a ledge overlooking the city. The camera focuses on her backside and then she turns to walk away. The next scene is her walking into the city, on the sidewalk. Everyone is moving slow and Pixie continues to walk on by them. She looks over her shoulder after passing a man and she touches her chest. Stopping, the man then looks at her and she falls down to the ground as if he had done something but the man stood there, looked at her and then walked off. "Stop!" she yells after the man but then the screen fades to a white screen, the sound of Illusion being heard playing. The scene then switches to her walking down an alley with posters hanging up on the wall that say 'Join the Army of Love' and her famous companion, Loo her teddy bear also seen on the posters. Once she begins singing, we see her with a man, supposedly her lover, and they are spaced apart from one another. They then argue and space even further apart. He caresses her face and she looks up at him, when he then pushes her on the ground and strikes her. Just close your eyes And you can hear the breathing of the dead You're paralyzed Those monsters never stay inside your head True happiness It's always missing you by little bits You can't deny I was the spark in your pitiful life
Now my head is far up in the clouds I can't hear you cus the love's too loud You'll never break another bone tonight Yeah, time to disappear Reaching out, you're reaching out to me But baby I'm just too far gone Reaching out, you're reaching out to me I never want the love you've shownChanging scenes and going into the chorus, Pixie is not in the dark, the camera spinning around her as the 3D effects make it seem as if she is coming out of the screen while spinning. The build up leads the scene to switch to her and the guy arguing again, Pixie walking away and running into the darkness. She is then seen smiling at the camera, a quick glance of white light and then back to the darkness again for the second verse. She's in the street, camera spinning again and she looks back at it as she sings. There's a woman standing at a window and looking down at her, looking upset until she turns away, the camera going back to Pixie who is now shown from the bottom up in a different setting. The woman represents her guardian angel and her mother, both whom she believes look after her and save her. She looks to be content and happy but also still disturbed by the drama with her lover. Her continues to hurt her but Pixie continues to love him despite it.Reaching out, you're reaching out to me But baby I'm just too far gone Reaching out, you're reaching out to me I never want the love you've shown
[Verse 2] I play your song I hear a chuckle every now and then I saved my life While you were beating me in my own skin Those days are gone "It's you that I really want" I won't deny All your words sent me into a high
I still weep about the old days Some troubled faces you just can't erase You are the lover taking up my space Yeah, time to disappear Reaching out, you're reaching out to me But baby I'm just too far gone Reaching out, you're reaching out to me I never want the love you've shownNext we see Pixie with strings on her arms, as if she were a puppet. She is bound to her love because of her love for him and she can't free herself yet. She watches as he walks away from her, out of their home and then when he returns, he opens his hand to her but she rejects it, slapping him in the face and then running away from him, smiling. Another switch to the darkness with her in the road again, this time she's carrying a piece of cardboard with a heart drawn on it. She stops and looks up at the camera. While the music slows down and becomes distorted, you hear Pixie's voice in the background. "No more.....I'm free! Free! Free!" As she says the last free, the song bursts back into the chorus and the build up of the song where Pixie is shown hugging her lover, both naked except for the man wearing black pants. She has a smirk on her face and then looks up at the camera. She reveals a black eye and then the scene switches again to her back in the darkness with the camera spinning.Oh, oh, oh! Oh, oh, oh!
[Chorus] Reaching out, you're reaching out to me But baby I'm just too far gone Reaching out, you're reaching out to me I never want the love you've shown
I felt low, I felt low I felt low, I felt low (But baby I'm just too far gone)
Yeah baby I'm just too far gone You'll never find me all alonePixie walks down the street as if she were drunk and then she stumbles and falls. She closes her eyes, smiling until the scene is back at the beginning where Pixie first fell down. She gasps and sits up, looking around. The man is gone and she gets up, running towards a building that has a club inside. She goes into the neon light filled building and begins to dance with the other people. She dances as if she's forgetting her worries and everything troubling her until the scene goes bright white again, revealing Pixie standing, seemingly, naked in front of a golden, glittery background. She smiles at the camera and the video fades out, ending the song.Reaching out, you're reaching out to me But baby I'm just too far gone Reaching out, you're reaching out to me I never want the love you've shown
I felt low, I felt low I felt low, I felt low (x3) You'll never find me all alone
