"Bless Me" Official Single ArtworkName: "Bless Me" Album: Immortal Recorded: March 2013 Writer/Composer: Stephanie Fierce Producer: Stephanie Fierce Length: 4:19 Genres: Folk-rock Release: May 12, 2013 (Digital Download) TBA (Airplay) Record Label: Hot Eye Records, CBS "Bless Me" is a track recorded by American artist Stephanie Fierce for her eight studio album "Immortal". As of right now it is unknown whether the song will be included on the album due to a recent change of track-list, but the song will be released as a "digital download only single" through Hot Eye Records and the support of CBS records on May 12th. The song was recorded and composed in March inside of Stephanie Fierce's tour bus trailer and mixed at a private owned studio. As of May 11th, the song is currently being used for television promo for the 10th season finale of CBS's hit drama NCIS that will air on May 14th. Part of the song's instrumental was used in the earlier promo's that began on May 1st without the title track or artist being unveiled. Fierce will be performing the song for the very first time on BCStyle Charity Fashion Show on May 11th. A music video has already been filmed and will be released in the coming days. Fierce discussed the song in her recent Rolling Stone interview: "I originally wrote the song around the time I released "Love is Lust" but never touched it until March of this year. As of right now, the song may or may not be included on the album, but I feel like the song is very special to me and should be somewhat commercial in my discography of singles, so I wanted to release it in sort of way at least." She added: "I think within the concept this song is a bit more interesting lyrically. Vocally with this song I was very influenced by Amy Lee from Evanescence. I will admit I'm not a huge fan of Evanescence's sound as whole, but I am a fan of their lyrics and Amy Lee's voice. As a woman I feel like she really has a distinctive sexy voice. She sounds almost like a saint but with edge and I wanted that in my voice for this song and I wanted to also represent that on this record because this particular song does not have a good meaning at all. It's very sexual and somewhat whorish, but it is something that does happen with many women. A one night stand is meant to be a one night stand, but sometimes we can't get caught up and feel trapped by wanting more. I think this point and time in my career, people should understand that everything I say or portray shouldn't always be taken literal, and that's why I"m not afraid to release the song. " This song has a very stripped and mellow sound, very much like "Dying in the Airwaves" and many other songs Fierce recorded for her "Free" album, which was released back in 2011. This one however has a little bit more edge in the lyrics and in the bridge. The song talks about the lust and desire of a lonely woman and how a one night stand made her want to keep coming back for more. She desribes herself as a rebel and makes it very clear that she isn't s saint and is willing to push boundaries within herself and her sins. The song is written in a religious fashion which may cause Blasphemy controversy. Fierce moaningly sings "Bless me, Bless me"; a sexual innuendo referring to the fact that her body is need of a "blessing". The song begins with a guitar riff, making two rounds before it dives in with it's opening verse. The song is then joined by what sounds like two smashing sticks and Fierce's soft and sultry vocals. As she sings "bless me" her voice turns more into a moan rather than a belt. When she sings 'I don't stand a chance in heaven', the song goes silent for few quick seconds, and is rapidly joined by a louder smashing claps that also make a few rounds. Growing more melodic as it's joined by more instrumentation, the song continues with it's instrumentation which is kept simple and progressive all throughout until the bridge hits. During the bridge, the song takes a more upbeat beat turn as she sings "keep the demons out" ect. During this section, the song's instrumentation grows even more intense as fierce's vocals become more sultry and evolve into a more moan-like sound as she echoes and repeats through the chorus-repeat. The song then grows more silent and less active until is rejoices to it's normal form and fades out with an emotionally driven sound. "Bless Me" Lyrics "Love drunk again, overdose accident no I'm not saint, no I'm not a saint I think I should be a little more embarrassed, in myself, in my sins Bless Me, Bless Me Oh oh, oh oh Bless Me Bless Me Oh oh, oh oh Cause I don't stand a chance in heaven even the devil don't recognize me anymore a desperate girl shouldn't be given another night but I thought you might Bless Me, Bless Me Oh oh, oh oh Bless Me Bless Me Oh oh, oh oh
