Going to see Joe Pug tonight, first concert that is actually an artist rather than a tribute band or a stage show/musical.

Doesn't look like I'm going Slam Dunk 2011 or LED Festival this year which sucks, but I'm getting tickets for Hevy Festival which will be so good!

I recently went to see Anaal Nathrakh at the Classic Grand, mainly because my pal Neil's band were opening, Chronocide. Watched them, quite enjoyed it, & then dozed off which was also quite nice.

Before that I saw Watain & Shining, & Shining almost single-handedly restored my faith in live music.

I got back late last night from Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, The Color Revolt, and The New Regime. The New Regime who were up first had a great guitarist and a sort of Jack White but more pop going on. There performance wasn't bad either. The Color Revolt basically played shoe staring music, so they failed to interest me while playing live. Thursday was great, and although I haven't followed them for several years they played one song from A City By the Light Divided which made me happy. Then Taking Back Sunday came on. They played a variety of songs, old and new. Most of them either will be on the new album or were on Tell All Your Friends, but they played one song from Where You Want to Be, one from New Again, and several from Louder Now. I can now say that I have been in a mosh pit. My advice to everyone is make sure that you're shoes are tied and double knotted before you go into a mosh pit. The most fun songs overall were Timberwolves at New Jersey, Everything Must Go, El Paso, Cute Without the E, and my favorite was This is all Now. This Is All Now was my favorite because Adam started by singing it while crowdsurfing. Then he spotted a couple of girls at the bar making out and naturally went over there. I was in a good spot to follow, and was right up front when he used the bar counter as a stage. Then he decided to give me a hair and face massage. I was at first slightly creeped out, but then he whispered to me "thanks for being a good sport". Haha

Last night I saw Panic! At the Disco who is my favorite band! Opening for them they had Funeral Party whose songs all sounded the same, and fun. who was surprisingly really good. And then Panic! played and their performance was amazing. I think since the departure of Jon and Ryan they are having more fun on stage. Great stage presence, they sounded almost perfect. And they played alot of old songs which I was happy about lol. Overall it would be like an 8 1/2 or 9 out of 10 show!

I'm going to Hevy Festival in August with bands like Architects, Funeral For A Friend, Your Demise, Lower Than Atlantis and While She Sleeps (with so many more good bands that I can't be bothered to list)

One of my best friends girlfriend also got me a ticket to see Enter Shikari in October who are being supported by Your Demise and Letlive.

Plus The King Blues and Gallows are playing seperate dates at my local venue soon so i'll be going to them.

I vehemently disagree. Clutch aren't even the shittiest band on that bill. They are in fact (& this is scientific FACT even if there's no evidence to support it) the best band on that bill (which is other than Clutch absolutely terrible) you should consider yourself extremely priveleged.

Yeah, I own...I think I own every full length Clutch album except the most recent one & the live album (yes Paul, own own, not pirate own). Bluesy rock. It's not innovative or anything but it's just straight forward ace. Plus their older more hardcore oriented stuff is the tits too. I'll now subject you to 5 Clutch videos. Starting at more recent & going backwards in time. Straight forward toe-tappin' goodness to start off with, a reworked version of an old blues song by Mississippi Fred McDowell

Song that I first heard of Clutch's that made me fall in love with them.

Oh look, dead dude in this vid. Unexpectedly topical, forgotten he was in this vid. Censorship of "smoke lots of pot" is very childish, way to go totally illiberal America :( Oh look, Dunn just got run over by Brandon DiCamillo. I wasted so much time watch Jackass.

Getting older now, & you can totally (I hope) hear the difference.

And here we have a number from their debut record. Young, beardless Neil Fallon looks so odd. Far too young for that voice.

And as a bonus I was going to put up a song that was recorded as a novelty in the studio, the label decided to throw on the record Pure Rock Fury & got a wee bit of radio play in the US. But Youtube fails to deliver. Unlike Clutch who NEVER fail to deliver live.

I honestly am so jealous that I want to die. Brand New, Incubus, and Taking Back Sunday are basically my three favorite bands.

I'm going to either see 30 Seconds to Mars, MCR, or Brand New later this year. As much as I love 30STM I'd rather see the other two. The trouble is that they're both a few hours away, and the Brand New concert is on a Friday, and the MCR concert is on a schoolnight, and my mom doesn't understand that missing one day of school to go to a concert wont matter, and she might now be willing to drive me. I'll likely end up seeing 30STM on labor day weekend because they'll only be playing about a half hour away.

Anyone who denies you the chance to see MCR is a good person. This is a fact. I saw them once by accident....hideous, hideous "band". ;)

My next few gigs will be...well nothing til September, then; Young Guns, and then Alter Bridge/Black Stone Cherry, followed by The Gaslight Anthem
