Madcore soloist Bikki, after a long break from music, announced on Twitter last night that she wanted to release a parody of "All By Myself" by Céline Dion. Well, she's decided to release it as a double A-side single alongside an original song, "Mawf". I said I'd do it, and I did. But being as it's been so long, I didn't want to return with just some cover, must give you some original material too! I wrote "Mawf" in a similar vein to my parody of "All By Myself"; a strange being, disjointed from the world. I was thinking about the Hot Topic awards in 2009 when I attacked Stephanie Fierce, and I claimed to have morphed into a sabre tooth cat, hence "Mawf". I really do not know what happened there, I was stressed, I had a heat rash and then just flipped out. A werecat - yeh, you'd be pretty disjointed, just like, "Oh fuck I've got a heat rash!" and then you change into an extinct killer. Both songs are just Bikki singing and playing piano. Bikki has only ever sung, played cowbell, or stirred a spoon in a mug of tea and called it music; where did this second talent come from!? I - don't know. I guess I just always could but never did. Anyway, lookit, here's the lyric to "Mawf".When I met you my hair was red Fiery screamed just cremated Flaming in every sense Living in deviance Burning away but never dead
Then I met you my hair was brown Leftover embers death in town But I'm on my way back These claws will never crack I know ways to get up from down
I'm up for sin Get me morphin' I don't know who I am I don't know who I am I don't know who I am I don't know who I am
Now I meet you I'm only bones The Smilodon fatalis owns It seems impossible Ailuranthropical Watch me take height as my fur grows
Then I'll meet you as living dead Sabre-tooth cat from paw to head Read your Wiki take note I go straight for the throat Femme fatalis won't go unfed
My life your sin I've had morphin' I don't know who I am I don't know who I am I don't know who I am I don't know who I am I don't know who I am I don't know who I am I don't know who I am I don't know who I am
But someday I will have to fall Humans of course shall conquer all Morphin' phenomena Just won't last long enough
I don't know who I am I don't know who I am I don't know who I am I don't know who I am You don't know who you are (I don't know who I am) You don't know who you are (I don't know who I am) You don't know who you are (I don't know who I am) You don't know who you are (I don't know who I am) One down six left to go Leave your print let me knowSounds like me, not Céline - a ton of big words and sneaky double meanings. My favourite is "morphin'", which could mean "morphing" as the song says, or "morphine" as in the drug, saying that I was high the whole time. The lyrics even relate to the cover, with the hair colour change - I've used a SimBikki as on the cover of "Open Fire", the fans liked her, but I've made her look a bit older and sadder and - all by herself.Bikki is also not releasing this on Dark Blue Music. Why? Metaphorical thing. I want it to be disjointed. Completely. I was about to get dropped from the management so I thought OK, I'll drop myself from the management, and then come back. Jimmy and Katie are fine with it. It's also kinda cool that it's going to be released on 4/7, the same day as a couple of DBM singles, so it's a Battle of the Dark Blue Divas - Kate vs. Raven vs. Bikki. I'm gonna lose so badly, but hey, at least I tried!
Parody lyrics coming soon. Warning : you may laugh. ;) |
