Lets Rock, Give me the Blues, Not of that Jazz, but play it Loud
1 Stevie Ray Vaughan 2 Joe Satriani 3 Alex Lifeson 4 Frank Zappa 5 Steve Hackett 6 Brian May 7 Jimmi Hendrix 8 Steve Howe 9 Rory Gallagher 10 Eric Clapton
SRV was always my most favorite blues guitarist, my all time best guitarist in fact. Rory Gallagher was also gifted with a lot of talent. Yes i like Rory more than mister Clapton. Satriani i prefere above Steve Vai, and Vai isnt even in my top 10, wow. Im a big Rush fan, so Lifeson must be in my Top 10. La Villa Strangiato, The Trees, A Farewell To Kings are good examples of how he can play both electric as acoustic. Same as Brian May. I like Brian, especialy his early work with Queen. Steve Hackett and Steve Howe are blessed with a lot of technique. |

1. Chris Hannah (Propagandhi) 2. Chris Cheney (The Living End)
I don't really pay much attention to the guitar on the music I listen (punk/hardcore don't really have any AWESOME guitar players), I prefer the bass \o |
I own:
Andrew Guinnard (Post-punk/acoustic) Lucy Tankeray (Pop diva/weird) |

I just listen to the music as a whole. Focusing on the guitar means focusing on wankery like Vai or Satriani. Boring. |

I agree with forkboy. I tend to listen to music that doesn't have a lot of guitar solos - a factor which the majority count as being a 'good' guitarist. Give me someone who can strum a few chords with feeling over a generic fretwanker any day. |

I'd find it hard to compile a top ten, but here's some that occur to me off the top of my head, regardless of talent: Frank Zappa Alex Lifeson Steve Howe Dylan Carlson Richard Biship Trey Spruance Sandro Perri Fredrik Thordendal Robert Fripp Fred Frith Oren Ambarchi Bill Horist These days I'm quite into prepared guitarists:

I admire progressions as well as wankery but if you can make some cool melody in a good key I admire it.Like Metallica, Kirk Hammett is a wanker but parts of their songs with wanker guitar parts have nice melodies too, like Fade to black's verse part,The Unforiven's chorus and the melodies before the verse riffs, and the clean interlude on Master of Puppets. 1.Alexi Laiho or Kirk Hammet or Roope Latvala 2.Timo Tolkki 3.Hendrix 4.Page 5.Steve Howe (I'm friends with his daughter!) 6.Dave Mustaine 7.Any good classical guitarist I don't really have a favorite 8.Vai 9.Satch 10. Randy Rhoads Edited by user 28 April 2009 07:00:44(UTC)

Possibly. I do hope he doesn't genuinely think it, because from what I've heard he'd be horribly wrong. And we don't want that. |

Mister Gallagher is probably one of the best white blues guitarists ever, together with Vaughan, Alvin Lee and Gary Moore (another wonderful player).

Mick Thompson isn't going on here because his solos only consist of using one string, and going up and down the frets. |
Too much leather chair is unsightly and greatly increases your risk of leather-smell. |
