Animus, Anima: The Coma Theory - Lyrics

(You’re not perfect.)
There are shoes on the table, a joker in the pack.
The salt was spilled and the mirror’s cracked.
There’s one lone magpie overhead.
And I’m not superstitious, the mother said.
No, I’m not superstitious, the mother said.
(You’re not... not perfect)

How quickly an idea planted can,
Take root and grow into a plan,
A thought conceived in this very room,
Grew as surely as a seed, in a mothers womb!

(You’re... not perf- perfect. You’re not perfect)

How quickly those who’ve made a pact,
Can come to overlook the fact.
Oh that the reckoning could be delayed,
But a debt is a debt. It must be paid.

(Perfect.)

Joshy : The lyrics are like my life! :D And erm, how brutal are your moshpits because I MUST get tickets to this tour, but I've just had a new facelift and I don't want to knock it.
Raven : You can sit in the disabled section by the side with me, I think facelifts are considered a disability.
Joshy : What if there isn't a disabled section?
Raven : Then they're racists. We'll see you there.

Scott H: what? You can't cook? Srsly? Ah well, don't worry, I can afford to put you through a pretty intense home economics class. You'll learn it all in no time. Cooking, ironing, the whole lot! :)

One more set of lyrics and then we will shut up and work on the album. We have completed our single, and that will be announced tomorrow, probably. Or later today, who knows? Anyway, this is going to be a softer track, and it's called "To Hold All". Very ambient, with acoustic and soft drum layers. That's the only clue thus far.

Please don’t ask why...
We don’t need to fight,
Are we all?
Susceptible to light?
Please don’t cry...

(I am lost)
I am the one,
Who fought?
Beneath the sun,
And the air...

Tell me why,
We won’t fight.
Are you blind?
Can we fly?
Don’t cry...

(I am lost)
I am the one,
Who fought?
Beneath the sun,
And the air...

Go now, go now,
Go now, burn beneath the sun.
Go now, go now,
Go now, burn until you’re done.

(I am lost)
I am the one,
Who fought?
Beneath the sun,
And the air...

(I am lost)
I am the one,
Who fought?
Beneath the sun,
And the air...

Do you know what it’s like?
To hold all in your palm.
To hold your eyes in your arms.
Between the lies and the psalms.

(I am lost)
I am the one,
Who fought?
Beneath the sun,
And the air...

To hold all.
To hold all.
To hold all.
And I feel... awake.

Johnny: Good to see you guys back in action. I wanted to start talking to you about working on Water's Edge again so let me know when you're available. If you need me to run the concept and whole plot by you again it won't be a problem.

Joe: We wanted to do a few supporting dates with you guys on tour in between our own.

Starting tracking for the album. This is the song that we're starting on, since it is arguably the most technical song we've ever done. About 10 minutes long. The Prague Symphony Orchestra will be helping out at a later date. Here are the lyrics:

The Halberdier and the Abbey

Shapes and colours come to be,
Shapes and colours reach out for me,
Grabbing my neck ever so tightly,
Why does it float on by?

Shapes and colours come to be,
Shapes and colours reach out for me,
Grabbing my neck ever so tightly,
Why does it float on by?

Au contraire, its embrace is warming,
Its voice is soothing,
The war in its becoming,
The war in evolution,
My acknowledgement is rendered null and void,
Thus, we acknowledge it endlessly.
It’s all infinite,
It’s all inviting,
It’s all infinite,
It’s all inviting.
My wings aren’t strong enough to fly yet,
So why should yours be?
An infinite void of nothingness beckons!
It’s all infinite,
It’s all inviting,
It’s all infinite,
It’s all inviting.

Go now, go now,
Go now, burn beneath the sun.
Go now, go now,
Go now, burn until you’re done.

Go now, go now,
Go now, burn beneath the sun.
Go now, go now,
Go now, burn until you’re done.

And I’m feeling ever so...
Lonely.
Ever so...
Useless.
Ever so...
Ever so confused.

The world may not need me.
But do I need the world?
The story is not finished,
No, the story’s just unfurled,
Pages torn from history,
Blown into faces of inquisitive strangers,
They always told you to watch out for,
Paranormal dangers.

I MUST REARRANGE THIS!
I WON’T BE DILATED!
I MUST BURN EVIDENCE!
I WON’T BE KNOCKED DOWN!
THIS IS MY TIME!
THIS IS MY TIME!
It’s all infinite,
It’s all inviting,
It’s all infinite,
It’s all inviting.

I, Jason Smith, plan to talk about the bands we've chosen to go on tour with and why. In no particular order...

UserPostedImage
Sanitary Towel

I don't actually think I need to explain why we chose them to go on tour with us. We never expected them to ACTUALLY support us. It's quite surreal. They are a legendary, influential and pretty inspirational band. It is pretty simple, without Sanitary Towel, there would be literally no Mind at all. They paved the way for us.

UserPostedImage
Gears of Bremen

In terms of success and diversity, I feel as if Gears of Bremen are going to become an even better version of Mind. They can do practically any genre and their debut is one of my favourite albums in recent years. When we announced our reunion, GoB was practically the first band that we wanted to go on tour with. I think our styles will complement each other.

UserPostedImage
Fathers of Fury

Fathers of Fury are another band that we really wanted to tour with for a long time. They are probably one of the bigger rock bands around at the moment, and they are simply phenomenal. I mean, they have this unique quality to them and this distinct style. Even though they're becoming established, they will get even bigger.

Those Meddling Kids

Sadly underrated for such a great band. They are mostly rooted in punk rock, but have this brilliant folky side to them, which is what makes them so great. Rather than just sticking to normal, 3 chorded punk, they choose to twist it about into something truly brilliant. I mean, it's one of those rare punk fusions that works. And my god, it works.

UserPostedImage
The Sex Kittens

Now these guys are certainly... interesting. As well as possibly being the scariest band we'll ever work with, these guys can put on a hell of a show. Musically, they're not very compatible with us and we probably won't be able to truly appreciate them. On the other hand, they are very, very entertaining and are good for getting people pumped. In both ways, I presume. Anyway, I hope our crowd don't savage them too much.
