Ellie: How do you do this? How do you manage to avoid all of this?
Brandon: Honestly? No one would be interested in things that I do, so it’s not a problem. You know people think I’m just really good at avoiding the photographers and reporters but that’s not true, the truth is that the photographers and reporters aren’t interested in me, that’s my secret.
Ellie: Well I think you’re lucky then. It’s too difficult to deal with this, I don’t know what to say, I thought I was doing the right thing in denying everything.
Brandon: Well evidently not, but you know what you’re young and is this your first time in LA?
Ellie: Yeah, it’s my first time out of Tennessee.
Brandon: Well there you go then, you’re not used to this kind of attention right? You’re gonna make mistakes, your human, we all do it but it’s about how you deal with it that’s the important thing.
Ellie: How do you figure?
Brandon: Well your running away right?
Ellie: Yeah, well I’m going back home for the weekend.
Brandon: See I don’t think that’s the right way to go with it, I wouldn’t tell you what to do but I can give you my opinion on what you should do if you wanna hear it?
Ellie: Sure, I’m listening.
Brandon: Well this may seem crazy, but I say you see this thing out, stand your ground and show that you’re not the kinda person that’s gonna run away when things get difficult, stay here and put on your game face, or even head out to London for the awards on Sunday.
Ellie: I dunno if I could do that, people would be mad at me if I showed up.
Brandon: Aren’t people already mad at you? At least if you go there and show that you’re not gonna hide from it, I think some people will respect you for it, I’m not saying that everyone will forgive you but it’s better than running.
Ellie: I know what you’re saying but I think I’d be a little too scared, especially going on my own.
Brandon: Well you won’t be the only person at the show that’s had to deal with a media attack, I’m sure some people understand why you did what you did, they’re hypocrite’s if they don’t because everyone makes mistakes and besides myself, Hannah, Izzy and Hayden are going so if the worst does happen then we’ll be around.
Ellie: I dunno, I don’t think Izzy or Hayden would wanna see me anytime soon, especially Izzy … I lied to her about it and I kinda feel like I’ve wrecked any chance of a great friendship with her.
Brandon: I’d be surprised if Izzy didn’t understand, you know she’s young too, I’m pretty sure she understands the pressure you’re under. But you know it’s up to you, I think the best thing you can do is go to the show and hold your head up high.
Ellie: Yeah … maybe I will.
