Brandon looks at Hannah and smiles slightly before sitting next to her.

Renée: (looks at Robert) Geez, It's been ... 32 years now.
Robert: Yeah, sounds about right.
Brandon: Yeah ... One long happy marria ... (stops himself) So Uhh, how's Haley doing?
Renée: She's good, she's back in New York in October, you should visit her.
Brandon: Yeah (looks at Hannah) We could.

Brandon smiles and kisses Hannah.

Renée: Thank you, your such a sweetheart (smiles)
Robert: You don't have to try so hard though.

Brandon smiled at his mom's reaction and then stopped and looks at his dad, he stares at him angrily, he was about to say something but stopped.

Brandon: (whispers to Hannah) Just ignore him, your doing great.

Renée: Oh we had something before we came out here, thank you though, your very sweet.
Brandon: So how do you guys like Indiana?
Renée: It's nice, very peaceful.
Robert: Yeah, it's alright I suppose. I think I'll take a look around.
Brandon: (looks at his dad) Yeah, you do that.

His dad gets up and grabs his car keys and leaves.

Brandon and his mom stand up.

Renée: Yeah sure, It looks like a beautiful home.
Brandon: Yeah this is our little piece of heaven (He smiles and seems a little less uncomfortable since his father left, he puts his arm around Hannah's shoulders and kisses her)

Brandon took a drink of a water and stared out of the window while Hannah showed his mom around the house. Hannah finished showing his mother around the house and sat down in the lounge again.

Renée: Brandon, it's such a beautiful house, you've done really well for yourself. I'm very proud of you. (she smiles)

Brandon: (smiles) Thanks, I'm really happy and I owe it all to Hannah.

Renée: Oh thank you Hannah, we don't plan on staying for too long though and I'm sure we'll find a hotel somewhere though. You both seem very in love, I like that. (she smiles)
Brandon: (smiles) I'm so very in love (he notices a mark on his mom's arms) What is that?
Renée: (pulls her sleevs to cover her arm) It's nothing, I just bumped into a wall, it's fine really.
Brandon: (thinks for a moment) Uhh, right. Okay then.

Renée: Ok, only if your sure it's no trouble.

Brandon stands up and walks into the kitchen, he knows exactly what the bruises were from. He finishes his glass of water and walks back into the lounge.

Brandon: (he scratches his head) Mom, pull your sleeves up please.
Renée: What? Why? I just bumped into a wall, it's nothing really.
Brandon: (he looks in her eyes) Mom! tell me the truth.
Renée: It's nothing, honestly.

Brandon walks into the kitchen and gets a bottle of water out of the fridge before walking back into the lounge.

Brandon: Is he beating you?

Renée: (looks at Brandon) Brandon it’s fine, honestly. It’s just how your dad is, you know how he acts.
Brandon: Why didn't you tell me he was still doing it? You could have called.

Brandon's father returns and walks into the lounge.

Robert: It's not a bad little town out here, it's a bit quiet though.

Brandon turns and looks at his dad, he clenches his first and rushes over to his dad as he shouts.

Brandon: YOUR STILL BEATING HER!!! (he punches his dad in the face and his dad stumbles and falls backwards a little) I want you to leave right now!!

Brandon: (looks at Hannah) I'm sorry (then looks at his dad) You have to leave right now.

Robert stands up and grabs his suitcase before turning to look at Brandon.

Robert: (shouts at Brandon) Psycho! (he then walks out of the door and Brandon's mom starts to walk towards the door to go with him.)
Brandon: Mom, your staying here with us. (looks at Hannah again) I'm sorry.

Brandon's father leaves.

Brandon: (looks at Hannah and his mom) I'm sorry (he grabs a bottle of water and walks outside, he sits on the river bank with his head in hands.)

Renée: I'm sorry about all of this, I didn't tell him because I knew he'd react like that, it just brought back bad memories for him.
