Song Description: This is based piano and vocals song, the harmony is given by the amazing and high vocals by Abie, also she sings in her own unique style, sometimes slow, sometimes strong and aggressive, The chorus of the song is sung in a very high note, Abie’s emotional state although the song transfer to the listener a very sad and broken heart intonation, the piano melody is very presented in the whole time of the song, it starts and ends the song alone, and as the Abie goes singing this piano melody follows Abie’s vocals range and intonations, on the third chorus of the song Abie sings very soft and thin, and so the piano gets very thin and soft.

Abie Comments: This song I wrote for an ex-boyfriend I had, I was so desperate and he broke up with me, and he was so cold with me, so strong that I could even notice if he was sad or happy doing that with me, so after he left I wrote the lyrics, Rick, which is an old friend of mine, made the melodies and it was ready, I didn’t want to do this a BIG orchestra or jazz song, I just wanted it as a piano and vocal song. It is still so personal to me, every time I sing it, it’s like a I’m living that moment again, but I’m stronger now, and I also believe that song is a rehab for us to recover ourselves from struggles and bad moments in life, so… I decided to release it as the second single.

MTV Special Live performance Abie Lena

Abie Lena is the new soul singer that recently conquered the whole world with her smash hit “Fake Plastic Life”, she is only 20 years old, but she has one of the most incredible voices of the industry and also she is ready to release her debut studio album in September 8th supported by one of the most successful nowadays labels, Studio 60. With all of this she has the potential to become a very successful singer and now she is releasing the second single of this upcoming album.

The lovely piano ballad entitled “Broke Up” is already available on radio and also digitally in all over the world. We talked with her about future plans and about this upcoming album, before she performed for us the single.



MTV: Hi Abie, how are you doing?

Abie: I’m fine, a little bit nervous, but fine.

MTV: Since your breakthrough in the last Total Annihilation Festival, you have become one of the most successful debut singer of the year, how are you dealing with all the success you’re doing right now?

Abie: Everything is just so new and fresh to me, when I’m at a restaurant or a pub, it’s like, people gets near me to say that they love my music, to ask autographs, so everything is been really cool and fun, I could not even imagine the huge success the single did, so for me it’s a wonderful time!

MTV: You first single “Fake Plastic Life” received the platinum status with over 1 million copies sold, you got yourself a deal with one of the most successful record labels of this industry which is Studio60, did they got happy with the results of your music career?

Abie: Totally, actually I was hired by Greg, but Gia also helped me to get the contract. I was so worry about disappoint them, when we released the single, you know, if it failed what would I do? But Gia always believed in me, and I don’t know, but she has the thing for business stuffs, she was so confident that the single would be successful and she was right.

MTV: Talk about this debut album, what is it about?

Abie: I write about my life, about my relationships, my own fears and things, so I can say that this album is really personal to me, I put all my feeling on those songs, and sometimes I keep thinking that people will know the way I felt or feel when they listen to it, this scares me a bit.

MTV: So, your new single “Broke Up!”. Tell us about the inspiration behind this song.

Abie: I wrote it after my ex boyfriend broke up with me, he was a jerk, I don’t know if he is going to watch this interview, hope not, LOL, but he was so cold when he told me that he wanted to broke up with me, it was very terrifying! I suffered a lot after this relationship, so several songs on the record are about this relationship, but you know time has passed and like I said in the song, I’m having my turn now.

MTV: Ladies and Gentleman, Abie Lena!

Abie: Thank you so much Martina, this song means so much things for me, it was really hard for me to record it and these lyrics are so clear and straight that sometimes scares me, when people sing it... but I also feel so embraced when people say that they can relate to it.. in fact we all have heartbreaks.

Abie: LOL my beehive hair, it's a homage to Amy Winehouse, she wa sa big inspiration for me ;p.
