10. New Religion
Genre: Rap, Dance, RockBreathe, sleep, fuck, repeat
But dont forget to eat
Smokes, booze, repeat again
To find a new zen
I say dont ever run away
Drink up you'll need it tonight
Yeah make sure your friends are ok
They'll need it for the coming fight
(The coming fight)
End the enemy
Find serenity
This is the new religion
And god knows whose religion?
Be uncontrollable
Not so gullible
This is the new religion
And god knows whose religion?
Dream big, then go to sleep
Wake up try to make the leap
Were all fucked you know
Like life's just one big show
I say dont ever run away
Drink up you'll need it tonight
Yeah make sure your friends are ok
They'll need it for the coming fight
(The coming fight)
End the enemy
Find serenity
This is the new religion
And god knows whose religion?
Be uncontrollable
Not so gullible
This is the new religion
And god knows whose religion?
End the enemy
Find serenity
This is the new religion
And god knows whose religion?
Be uncontrollable
Not so gullible
This is the new religion
And god knows whose religion?
Nick Talks "New Religion"Probably a single in the future! I love this song to death. It starts with a really sweet dance beat based around the bass drum. There is a sci-fi phaser sound that sounds kind of alien like during the verse. There is some guitar in the background which is pretty nice. It is loaded with delay to go along with the tone of the song. I do the verse in a more sensitive tone than you might expect from me. Then the chorus comes as the wobble bass drops and a more rock n roll drum beat is played. There are some symphonic synths and the the alien like noise remains in the background, but the bass drop at the beginning of the chorus makes the whole song what it is. Then in the bridge there is a nice long instrumental progression. The symphonic synths have a very epic melody. The drum beat is steady but nothing overpowering. The guitar plays a nice complimenting melody in the background. The bass is intense and helps make the melody that climaxes as everything falls back into the last chorus.
This song is a very ironic one. It is also about the current state of the world in many ways. The first few lines are about people who just party and really nothing else. Of course towards the end of the verse I state how I'm not really against partying or anything, but of course there is more to life. Haha. The chorus is where I have my favorite lyrics of the whole album. Because the line where I say "and god knows whose religion?" is a question, means that I'm implying everyone is sort of making a big deal about this is the absolute way to live your life, but who really came up with those ideas and why. That all goes back to my idea with the album of just letting instinct take you wherever you end up. This is the obvious song to close the album with and one of my favorites.
Sounds vaguely like:
OOC: It's done! The last song is a bonus track that I might post tonight but this is the album. I'd love some feedback on the album as a whole. I spent a long time formulating how this album would be musically and lyrically. If any of you remember the initial release date for Nick's debut album was in August. I didn't postpone it because I wanted to have a storyline where Nik had a breakdown, I actually postponed it because I hated everything I had come up with. I really hope you liked it.
