Amber Lowell: "Music is Getting Fucking Dreadful at the Moment"
[written by Jonas Hunt]The
arcades front-woman is tearing up headlines, even though her band has yet to release material for the past three years. During an interview with popular music blog,
Burning Bridges, she was quoted as saying,
"Music is getting fucking dreadful at the moment. I mean you've got all these girl-groups and even a new copy of N-Sync? I haven't been this worried since Miss Vanity died."Sure to strike up headlines for her off-kilter remarks, one must remember the various facets that the small but very cult-like gang of
arcades fans. The band rose to indie fame after releasing an 8-track around 2008 that circulated around New York, eventually making its way to the web and garnering the band Cult fame, though not enough to really pay the bills.
After touring with
Reported Failure last year, the band went quiet for a while, only to come back with such statements. To really get a view into Lowell's mind, here's one of the closing statements of Lowell's interview,
"The bubble-gum pop that's on the radio right now, it's poison I'm tellin' ya. We're just deluding the next generation into thinking that it's going to be rainbows and sunshine with bands like Teen Titans and artists like Mandy Williams. People need to open their eyes and, I really had to say it but...looks like it's up to me to save the fuckin' industry."{OOC: Thought I'd bring back the blogs that C4A mentioned on the front-page, so here's one with extra controversy inside. Enjoy!)
