The new Secret Chiefs 3 release arrived in the post the other day from Americka, by the sub-band Traditionalists arrived, entitled Le Mani Destre Recise Degli Ultimi Uomini, or The Severed Right Hands of the Last Men, and 'tis the soundtrack to a non-existent horror film.

Today I bought Dissected Tapes a compilation of Dissections (oldschool death metal from lithuania ,not to mix with the band from sweden) demo tapes. A really great dose of technical oldschool death metal. If the soviet union would of collapsed earlier this band would today be amongst i think such mid reknown dm bands
like vomitory, unleashed on one scene. I can share this if someones willing (just pm me then)
Stronghold - death metal with eastern and heavy metal influences

Witchcult - stoner/oldschool heavy/doom metal

Infernal Tribute - darkly humourous death metal/alternative/progressive

How can you listen to Coldplay after they sooo almost ripped off Satriani? When the guitarist if I'm not mistaken has said in an interview before that he was a big fan of Satriani. It made me lose all respect for the band.

Last Album I Downloaded:
Billy Talent - Billy Talent III

That attitude is bullshit. Utter bullshit. Led Zeppelin stole riffs left right and centre from blues staples. Everybody does it, intentionally, or unintentionally. Chord sequences are repeated endlessly because they're easy to play and sound good. The whole pop punk scene is based on a million identikit bands playing the same chords and only modifying the melody slightly.

Frank Zappa, a musical hero of mine, inserted portions of classical music into songs here there and everywhere, and he even used that old staple Louie Louie at every given opportunity as a musical joke. I'm not saying Coldplay are up to the level of musical jokes, but incorporating a playing style they like, using a similar riff or melody, that's inevitable. I don't know if you've ever noticed, but Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Baa Baa Black Sheep are actually the very same melody.

The real reason not to like Coldplay is that they're yawntastic.

Yeah, the same could be said for a lot of other old Eastern European bands. It's a shame that classic acts like TURBO and KAT from Poland and NOVOY ZAVET from Russie never got the recognition they deserved.

Coldplay are fine live. Studio, they are boring. most of their songs are repetitive. But live, they kick arse.
