We have bills to pay and kids to feed. If you wanna be all anti labels, great for you but do not put down every label and all owners because we're doing our job. Yes, I love money. Yes, I love when artists on my label make me money. Yes, I am bossy and direct them where to go with their music but I'm no 'Fat cat sitting on my ass' I'm working it off. I respect indie labels and people who never wanna be signed but I'm not putting you down so keep your mouth shut about labels. If it wasn't for us, majority of all the great artists, some of your influences, probably would no be here. Jesus christ, take a pill and quit whining. You probably just have no talent anyway.

Winston: I think there's a difference from mass profit off of hacks like Isabel and Desiree Shapiro, and then there's the indie labels that take the time out to personally go through everything with artists. Fuck it, I might as well start my own label.

Scott: Or...maybe I decided to put something back into music with the millions I made. Like I said, Im no corporate hack...my artists can record what.they want. Pure freedom. GEARS OF FATE FRONTMAN DECIDES TO CREATE OWN LABEL WITH FINANCIAL BACKING FROM INTERNET BLOGS



"In the wake of Angel Music Records closing, I've decided to manage my own label and sign my own band to it in an attempt to grow as a public figure." said the Avant-Garde/Indie rocker on his own personal blog. "The first label our band was signed to was Monk on Fire Music, and I'd like to think of this new label, Imitation of Life, as an extension or even a rebirth by my hand. I hope everyone enjoys it, I really do and it's going to be a nice indie supplement. I've had this planned out months ahead of time, with the first release coming out this Friday."

OOC: Thought now would be a better time than ever to create a new label.

Gia: I've never known a label to hold a gun to someone's head and tell them to go buy a record, so there's no force. People have a mind of their own and if they chose to buy something, there's nothing wrong with that. Not everyone wants to take the route of becoming an 'internet sensation'.

Naomi: Apparently, some people need clarifying. What I'm saying is, by using strong marketing tactics, overexposing many artists, and rehashing the same crap to consumers, is what I mean by forcing them to listen and buy it.

Striker: In all do respect Gia, Naomi does have a point. Not choosing sides or anything, but the mainstream music that is produced today all sounds pretty much the same to me! Again, just an opinion. Carry on!

nina:no,they are. we may not sell many records,but we sell the most commemorative plates per captia of any band's fanbase. commemorative plates are the newest revenue maker,love.
