Naomi: As an artist who has voiced her opinions of labels, they are shit. Its a money game, and music should not be about money but its meaning and art. I want to make music for my fans, not the fat cats at the board sitting their asses on millions why artists are being ripped off and told what to do. I have no label, and I'm doing fine on my own. And hello, its 2012 we have internet, fans can enjoy the music with no middle man. Get over the past. |

Gia: Blah blah blah, that's all I'm reading. You guys should start calling out names if you're gonna talk about label owners, and besides, ALL label owners (Indie too) wanna make money. We have bills to pay and kids to feed. If you wanna be all anti labels, great for you but do not put down every label and all owners because we're doing our job. Yes, I love money. Yes, I love when artists on my label make me money. Yes, I am bossy and direct them where to go with their music but I'm no 'Fat cat sitting on my ass' I'm working it off. I respect indie labels and people who never wanna be signed but I'm not putting you down so keep your mouth shut about labels. If it wasn't for us, majority of all the great artists, some of your influences, probably would no be here. Jesus christ, take a pill and quit whining. You probably just have no talent anyway. |

Gia: I denied the lies. I don't deny that labels want to make money, who doesn't? |

Winston: I think there's a difference from mass profit off of hacks like Isabel and Desiree Shapiro, and then there's the indie labels that take the time out to personally go through everything with artists. Fuck it, I might as well start my own label. |

Scott: I spent 14 years in a band being "all about the music." We did 15 sick as fuck death metal albums. Now though...now I've retired from that I am proud that my label makes money. My label provided.me with a big ass house and a Ferarri. Will I apologise for that? Hell no. Me and Gia work damn hard, and because of our hard work on our labels, we can give our kids a blessing in that they will never have to worry about money. Are we supposed to abandon that for the purity of the music? Please! Also...my artists have pure freedom...no strings. |

Gia: What are you two talking about? The artists on my label have COMPLETE control and creativity on their music. There's nothing wrong with the fact that non indie artists are making money, they aren't the best artists in the world. They are free to leave and walk out whenever they want to, I'm not keeping them on a leash. They are there because they want to be, not because they are forced. Just because they are on a label doesn't mean they don't want to make music and make positive messages for people. They just want to make money doing what they love, there's nothing wrong with that and there's nothing wrong with me doing what I love and making money is just the icing on the cake. You two can be the poster children for anti labels all day but at the end of the day, you're trying to criticize people for doing the same work you do. |

GEARS OF FATE FRONTMAN DECIDES TO CREATE OWN LABEL WITH FINANCIAL BACKING FROM INTERNET BLOGS"In the wake of Angel Music Records closing, I've decided to manage my own label and sign my own band to it in an attempt to grow as a public figure." said the Avant-Garde/Indie rocker on his own personal blog. "The first label our band was signed to was Monk on Fire Music, and I'd like to think of this new label, Imitation of Life, as an extension or even a rebirth by my hand. I hope everyone enjoys it, I really do and it's going to be a nice indie supplement. I've had this planned out months ahead of time, with the first release coming out this Friday." OOC: Thought now would be a better time than ever to create a new label. |

Naomi: I'm criticizing the money aspect. Your comment on the fact that some of the best artists came from major labels is true. BUT, that is only because that was one of the only options. In this day and age, you don't need a label. Music can spread faster than a click of a button. With every share, and every like a song gets it become more popular. No need for a label with deep pockets to force people to buy and listen something they don't want. People can now choose what they want to hear. |

Gia: I've never known a label to hold a gun to someone's head and tell them to go buy a record, so there's no force. People have a mind of their own and if they chose to buy something, there's nothing wrong with that. Not everyone wants to take the route of becoming an 'internet sensation'. |

Naomi: Apparently, some people need clarifying. What I'm saying is, by using strong marketing tactics, overexposing many artists, and rehashing the same crap to consumers, is what I mean by forcing them to listen and buy it. |

Gia: I see tons of ads to buy things from artists but I don't buy them. Again, they have a choice. No one is forcing them to do anything. |

Striker: In all do respect Gia, Naomi does have a point. Not choosing sides or anything, but the mainstream music that is produced today all sounds pretty much the same to me! Again, just an opinion. Carry on! |

erica:if studio60 signed erich and myself, they clearly arent just about the money.
nina:no,they are. we may not sell many records, but we sell the most commemorative plates per captia of any band's fanbase. commemorative plates are the newest revenue maker, love.
erica:shit! we forgot to include a plate with the new ep!
nina: that makes it the rarest plate of all....
