Katie hears a knock at her door, and stops singing to Lucas. She puts him in his travel cot, and walks over to the door, stepping over all of the suitcases and guitar bags littered around the room. She opened the door.

"Hey, Nad! You okay?"

She smiled warmly at her friend and touring buddy.

Katie watched Nadia smile and thought something wasn't right. She hugged her and tried to catch her eye to bring it up.

"Yeah, I'm good....but..." just then she gets distracted, as she sees Boots come into the room behind Nadia.

"Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! She's so cute!" Katie runs over and picks the puppy up, smiling and cooing over her. "She's so amazingly cute. Awww I love her so much already! Don't worry, they couldn't throw such a cute little thing out..and if they do, I'm sure your dog would complain." She laughs a little.

Katie walked to where Nadia was looking down at Lucas. "He's already been cheering mummy up with some big hugs and kisses." Katie placed Boots on the floor and sat on the end of the bed. She patted the space next to her.

"What's wrong Nad? Talk to me..."

She smiled.

Katie smiles and watches the puppy running around the floor. She claps her hands when Boots wags her tail and puts her hands up to her face.

"Awwww! Aww I'm sure she will be fine with him Nad. Once they both get settled in, we can see how they get on together."

She watches as Nadia walks over and sits beside her. She nods the whole time that her friend speaks, looking a little glum and turning her eyes to the floor.

"I know yeah...it's..I thought I'd be happy to be out here you know? But all I can think about is..." she pulls a picture of herself and Julia smiling together from her pocket, and a tear drops onto the photograph.

"I'm such a loser," she chuckles. "Do you miss him that bad?"

Katie nods when Nadia speaks. "That was before we went to the awards last night. We were just sitting and laughing together, and I had to get a photo of it." She smiles a little and puts the photo in her pocket.

"I know. I know you feel as bad as I do..probably worse, you've been with Ryan a lot longer. I just feel like I should be trying to be strong." She sighs a little.

Katie turns to face Nadia a little, listening to what she says about Ryan and she. They were both so close to Katie, and she felt sad to see them apart as well. She knew it was daft, but whenever she saw them together, it even made her smile. She put her hand out as she saw Nadia cry, rubbing her upper arm a little.

"I know Nad. You guys have been such an amazing couple. If it helps then in my eyes you two have a long and happy life together still to come." She tries a little smile, fighting to stop her bottom lip from smiling, before she hugs Nadia tightly.

"It'll be ok Nadia. I swear we'll both be fine."

Katie nods. "Yeah. We should have been together last year, but I let my stupid ego get in the way, and decided I wanted to try to pull a straight girl...like always. But no more; Julia is my girl now." She smiles a little, clearly thinking of her partner.

Katie kept looking over at Nadia. She was convinced that something was being kept from her now, and she really wanted to know what it was. She sits up as Nadia cuts off a sentence.

"Wait. You had a talk before the tour but...?" She moves into Nadia's eyeline. "Don't go telling me it's nothing Nad..come on. You can tell me." Katie smiles down at Boots. "Yeah..she must be. It must be hard to have a daddy there and then for him to be gone so suddenyly. "I'm glad Lucas hasn't had that yet..."

Katie smiled at Nadia. "Once we do a few shows and have some parties..I'm not saying we'll forget all about home life, but it will certainly be easier to just get through it. We always have each other too." She smiles.

Katie goes over to pick up Lucas, because he starts to whimper a little. She makes sure he is comfortable and then puts him back down in his cot as he falls straight back to sleep. She walks back and sits beside Nadia.

"Of course you can trust me Nad. You can tell your lil Secret Lover anything. I can't say I'll give perfect advice, but I can always do my best." She sits back on the besd, bringing her legs up so that she could cross them, leaning her elbows on her knees and resting her head on her hands as she watched Nadia, listening closely to her every word. Towards the end of the problem, Katie looks down at the floor. She didn't know that it was going to be so serious, and it made her feel a little sad.

"He said that? Wow..." She sits for a few minutes, just thinking. "Nad, I don't know what to say...for a girl in my position, it's a totally different situation. Kids are not so common in relationships like I have, so it's not as easy to imagine. But I know this, if I had a dream, I would want to go for it with everything I had." She thinks for a few seconds longer. "But...if you have someone who you want to take on that trip with you...then my advice would be not to give up on them. Try to make him see your way. Show him what it means to you. Fight for your dream, but also fight for your relationship." She smiles a little. "All I know is that you and Ryan are a perfect couple. I would hate to see that wasted. But I also don't want to know that my best friend has missed her chance to have a family...oh it's soo confusing!"

Katie nods. "I know it will. We are both strong girls Nad."

Katie sits on her bed with her acoustic guitar. She looks out over the scene from her hotel window, the sun shining across a glorious Japanese morning. She lets a little smile creep slowly over her face as she surveys the setting in which she finds herself. The first few nights of the tour had gone well for Katie, and the audience members each night had given her and Nadia rapturous receptions, and they had both responded with tremendous performances which lit up each and every venue.

After having let her mind wander for a while, Katie lifted the arm which was draped across the front of her guitar and strummed it slowly. With one leg tucked underneath her, she rubbed slowly at the fretboard, trying to get rid of a small mark below one of the strings. Just then, Lucas started to softly whimper in his cot in the corner. She sighed a little and gently placed the guitar on the bed. Lucas had been unsettled since they came to Japan, and he would cry quite often.

Walking over, Katie looked into the cot and laughed slightly as she saw Lucas' bottom lip wobbling as if he was trying not to cry. "Awwww, sweetie," she said softly, "Come to mummy." She lifted Lucas up, giving him a soft kiss on his tiny forehead before cradling him in her arms and rocking him softly as he continued to whimper away. "What's wrong baby? Do you miss mummy Julia? I know, mummy misses her too."

She walks back and forth across the room a few times as she tried to shush Lucas, before he eventually dosed back off. She smiled again and placed him back in his cot. She reached down and stroked his cheek softly before walking back to the bed. She lay down on the bed again and sighed. Taking her phone from her pocket, she opened the gallery, seeing a photo of her and Nadia backstage last night, both drenched in sweat and smiling from ear to ear. She chuckled.and.shook her head a little. "Ah Katie...if only huh?"

Katie lay there on her bed, staring at her phone for a while longer. She flipped through some more photos, mostly snaps she had taken of Nadia performing from the side of the stage. After a while, she sighed again. Bringing the phone down, she placed it on her chest, letting some thoughts circulate through her mind. She knew it was wrong to think like that, but she had for a long time, and she had never hidden it from anyone.

It wasn't just that Nadia was the most beautiful girl she had ever seen, but she had also played perhaps the biggest part in making Katie more confident in herself these last few months. It had been a while since she had felt as bad as she did last year, and she knew a lot of this could be owed to her best friend. Already on the tour, she knew that having Nadia close by had been instrumental in keeping her happy. When she had felt sad, Nadia was always there with a hug to improve her mood and she knew that was important. Standing up eventually she tried to shake the thoughts from hee mind.

Katie walked over to the dressing table, Katie sat down and looked at her reflection. She smiled softly before tying her hair back in a ponytail. Just then, she heard a soft knock at the door, immediately knowing who it must be. She ran over, jumping on the bed and closed the gallery on her phone, before picking herself up and walking to the door.

Seeing Nadia standing there, Katie smiled widely to her friend. "Good morning beautiful."

Katie smiled and stepped aside, before leaning forward and hugging Nadia. As she rested her head on the brunette's shoulder she closed her eyes and sighed. It was better not to let Nadia see her emotions, so she just let herself sink into the hug, before smiling again as the hug parted. She closed the door behind them and then patted Boots' on the head softly. "It's alright. I was just wondering how you girls were."

Katie chuckled. "After all this time you really still wonder if I think you're beautiful? Jeez Nad I tell you all the time..." She sticks her tongue out and laughs at her. Katie watched as Boots sat down when commanded to. "Awwww that's just the cutest thing I've ever seen!!" She kneels down beside Boots and strokes her head again. "Good puppy Bootsy aren't you? Awwww."

Katiestands again and then jumps onto the bed, sitting down on the end of it. "Yeah, I'm good thanks sweetie. Lucas is still not settled. He keeps crying and stuff. I think he was really used to having Julia around a lot, and now he misses her." She shrugs a little and walks over beside Nadia. "Awww, he loves his auntie Nadia too. I've never known him to cry when you are around."
