AN UPDATE FROM MISERY LOVES COMPANY
I think an update is in order..(My view whilst typing this)SO! We're just off the back of the wonderful tour supporting Suburban Sunrise along with Aaron Marks, and before we get back into the touring cycle.. we've got something to do. As you are all probably aware from our not-so secretive tweets lately, that we have entered the studio to begin writing album #2! This one will be different.. but in a good way, a way which will leave you all gasping for air after your first listen (We actually hope that doesn't happen!). But yeah, we've started writing the follow up of 'Two Sides Too The Story', and everything is going OK thus far, we've got a little creative flow going which is really nice. Obviously, I can't say too much about it at the minute, its still early days, but we hope to being recording later this month! A lot of you have been asking us, which avenue are we going to take? As we have experimented with different genres and sounds in the past, we now feel we have come up with what Misery Loves Company really is. Some bands find their sound instantly, others, it will come pretty quickly. But then there are bands like us, where it takes us a while to experiment to test what kind of band we are, and from all the ups and downs, the experiences the time spent together, we feel that we have now got a sound to establish ourselves with. Now I don't want to give much away this early because, in truth, we haven't wrote too much of it! But, its more guitar friendly, and what I would call an all round rock album compared to our previous attempts. Now, don't get me wrong, the early signs is that it is going to feature a lot of acoustic backing, but we want more of a mature sound, we're not 19 year old kids anymore. I can't say anything on extras for the album, we have 1 or 2 people in mind but I doubt highly that there will feature any on the album, we want it to be 100% MLC. And with that in mind, we will be co-producing the album along with our good friend Spencer Jackson. We are in love with his work, and its exactly what we want in our future releases. So, we hope that cleared a few things up for you.. we promise to keep you more updated with everything! Much love, Ryan, Nate and Josh xo
