Mark feels a punch-like feeling in his gut. He takes his hand out of his pocket. Looking over at her, Mark is clearly confused. "What....what do you mean?"

It hurts Mark to even hear Layla say that about them breaking up. He shakes his head a little and stares at her. "What? No...no...why would I break up with you? What for?"

Mark sighs. He holds her hand. "Layla please. Don't be sad. I didn't mean that at all I promise. Please dont be sad."

He looks at her. His nerves were getting even worse now and he breathes heavier. "I just wanted to give you a present that might keep us strong through all that as a couple."

Mark takes a second and goes to take the box from his pocket, sweat beading a little on his forehead. His hand is shaking so much that he drops it and it bounces under his chair. "Dammit." He says.

Mark let's go of her hand for a second. "Sorry Layla....I dropped it." He shakes his head and then gets down on his knees to search for the box. When he finds it, Mark turns back around, but doesn't stand up, instead just going onto one knee in front of Layla. His hands and legs are shaking as he lifts his arm and takes his hand in hers. He smiles a little and stares into her eyes.

"Layla...its been a long time in my life that I was without love, and I never thought I would ever find it. I never ever had a lot of girls, and I knew that was because none of them were right for me. When I met you though, it was different. You are sweet, kind, patient, understanding, loving, talented and beautiful. And you are the perfect girl for me. The last 8 months have been the greatest of my life. When I wake up next to you each morning, I can't help but smile."

He takes a deep breath. "I want to smile like that for the rest of my life. I want to care for you, look after you and make you happier than you've ever been. So Layla, I love you with all my heart....would you do the most amazing thing of all time....will you marry me Layla Raine?"

He tries to smile at her.

Mark smiles when Layla speaks, sighing, totally relieved. He stands up and hugs her close to him, lifting her slightly off her feet. "I love you Miss Layla," he whispers to her.

Mark smiles, still holding her tight to him. "I can't believe this. I've been so nervous to ask you in case you say no. I wanted to make it perfect. I'm so happy."

Mark smiles at her and kisses her softly on the lips. "And you're my dream girl Layla. I love you so much." He smiles and laughs at her. "You don't have to be Layla Talley. Not if it sounds funny."

Mark chuckles. "Ok then Layla. You can be Mrs Talley then if you want to. That would make me happy." He grins at her. "Yeah. Too right. I couldn't sleep at all for weeks. I was so nervous. Scott said that he didn't even know if it was the right thing to do."
