EARLY LIFE

Giovanni "Gia" Rose-Hilton was born on July 4th, 1987 in Toronto, Canada to parents Aurora and Emmanuel Alexander. Her former last name, 'Rose' was given to her by her mother as her and Emmanuel were not married when they had her and Aurora later changed her last name to Alexander. She is the oldest child and she recently discovered that she had a younger brother, Nate Alexander, she'd never known about. As a child, her parents taught her the typical hippie way: peace, love, and happiness. She was a "wild child" and strayed away from the innocence that her parents lived by and instead often acted out and rebelled. As she grew older, her love of music became more apparent and intense. She would listen to it nonstop and try to go to every and any concert that came to her city. Gia also began to write songs which would later turn out to be big hits in the music industry later on in life. Even though she was a tough girl growing up, Gia had always had a softer and compassionate side which she tends to show towards her parents and close friends. She met her now best friend and business partner, Layla Raine, in high school and the two instantly became friends. Her other best friend, Logan Echols, passed away in 2005 due to lung cancer. This changed Gia's whole life and it's the reason why she hates smoking and is always working with cancer charities. Gia never wanted to sing because she never thought she had the voice for it so instead, she decided she would become a producer and help artists in the industry.

CAREER

In mid-2011 as Greg Walls hired relatively unknown record producer and songwriter Giovanni Rose as co-owner in a bid to take the label on to greater heights, that decision proved to be a success as the label quickly became one of the highest profile labels in the music industry and continues to develop and grow with a roster which includes some of the most high profile musicians in the industry as well as a number of talented young musicians looking to make their mark on the music industry. Gia's personality there is said to be very motivating and fun but she can also be all about business. She's not afraid of a little competition and goes for what she wants. She believes that Studio60 Records is THE record label to be on and hopes to sign more artists and take the company to new highs. Recently, she was named Owner of Studio60 Records as Greg Walls stepped down from his position.

PUBLIC IMAGE

Gia is a very headstrong and determined woman who never backs down from a challenge. Some of her most noticeable antics are her ever so famous feuds and Twitter arguments with Cassie, Tisha Jackson, Nadia Berry, Ryan Ross Hernandez, Suzie, Serenity Scott, Stephanie Fierce, Queen Alexis, and just about everyone else! Her bold and blunt personality has often rubbed people the wrong way and caused a lot of twitter "beefs" with others. She has often been called 'Unprofessional' and 'An embarrassment to Studio60' but reports show that the company's sales increased after Gia became co-owner, showing a 15% increase in sales and revenue. Gia is also known for being one of the top producers in the business. She has produced singles and albums from almost every top artist, past and present, and she is co-owner to arguably the biggest and most successful label right now, Studio60 Records. Even with all her enemies, she is still highly respected amongst her peers and continues to thrive in the music world.

PERSONAL LIFE/CONTROVERSY

Gia was in an on again off again relationship with high school sweetheart, Bryan Adams, for 4 years until they broke up in late 2008. A few months of being in the music business, Gia had met Scott H who was then engaged to Raven Storme, and the two became friends and eventually she signed his band, Sanitary Towel to Studio60 Records. After he had decided to make his own label, Chaos Records, he signed himself to it causing Gia to become angry and the two exchanged words over Twitter and face to face. As Gia stated in an interview later on, the two met at The Dirty Bastard Hotel and Casino to make an agreement regarding his contract.

She resigned them and he began flirting with her which turned into a date at the 1st Fan Choice Awards, but stood her up after making up with ex fiancee, Raven Storme. The two then broke up again and Scott and Gia seemed to be together, once again, at the Chaos Awards as they were hand in hand the entire night. The two kept dating and on September 21, 2011, the couple announced their engagement via Twitter. A month after their engagement, the couple adopted their daughter Sophie Aurora Rose-Hilton on October 23, 2011. She would later be discovered as being one of Andrea Mason's twins whom she had with Alex P after they got together on Celebrity Big Brother 2. The other twin, Avery, was adopted by Gia's best friend, Nevaeh Martinez. On December 17th, 2011, Scott and Gia were married in a small ceremony in New York. The couple then announced in February that they were expecting their second child. During the pregnancy, however, it was later revealed that Scott was having an affair with fellow label mate and singer, Arianna Harley of Hey Lolita. The two reconciled and remained together just in time for the arrival of their second baby. After an emergency C-Section from Gia being reportedly stabbed in her stomach, she delivered a very healthy little girl who she named Bailey Rae Rose-Hilton on July 9th, 2012. The couple live in New York City today with their two children. In July, Scott Rose-Hilton announced the couple was expecting their third child in July, a baby boy who was delivered on November 1st, 2013.

Serenity: I must say, Gia and I are far from being the best of friends. But, I look up to her because she basically broke a lot of barriers for women, which is incredible! She's a huge inspiration, that's all I can say.... Let me stop there. I don't want her to have too much pride....

Gia: Aw thanks Erich :) You're so sweet, I love having you on the label and so does everyone else. You really liven up the place. Don't worry, war bride could never get lost in the shuffle.

First time writing a blog, bare with me. Only a few short messages to share with you all :) - Gia Rose-Hilton

It's the end of the year. The time when people start making promises they know they won't keep because that's what everyone does right? They promise to be a better person. They promise to not let others get to them. They promise to find love or forget love. They promise to be successful and not let anything stand in their way. They promise the same thing each year; 'New Year, New Me' when in reality, it will be a new year and same person. That's why I've gotten rid of that bullshit excuse and decided whatever happens in 2014, it just happens.

2013 was an insane year, 2012 and 2011 were insane years. My life changed so drastically. I became a wife, a mother, a label co-owner, a label owner, a sister, I became quite possibly the best version of myself I knew how to be. Of course, it couldn't come without controversy or ups and downs but I really regret nothing at all. You know....life has this sick and twisted yet funny way of throwing itself at you. People have been trying to knock me down since my name was on the lips of Studio60 former owner, Greg Walls. Literally, I couldn't get a moments rest without being antagonized but of course, I expected it. I was unknown and who was I to come in and take over a company and rise it to the top? Shame on me. I've had the best time working at Studio60 and now owning it. It was stressful, exciting, everything you could think of. But you know, a woman in power intimidates a lot of people and they start pulling the 'bitch' card which, is fair I guess. But people failed to realize two very important facts which are very true. Number one; a label is a BUSINESS. Now, business is not always clean cut and pretty. Whoever thought that going into this was absolutely in needed of a musical education. Everything I did for Studio60 was for the label and not for personal gain. Trust me, I could have walked away and still have been successful but I stayed because Studio60 was in need of aid at the time. Then, business picked up and personal turned into business which is fine if you can deal with it. Apparently, not everyone can. I admit, I struggled with it and maybe went about it the wrong way but it's over, it happened. No use in bringing it up again. So, it's a business and in a business there's only one thing in mind: profit. I'm sounding harsh, I know, but it's the god's honest truth. Number two; if the label is not going to benefit and/or profit from you, I'm sorry to tell you that you're probably not going to be there for long.

You'll get a few artists who understand that and have no problem with it at all. Then you'll get those few 'bold' ones who think they are the patron saints of music and are 'doing the right thing' by 'protesting' major labels because of this. This is great, more power to you. But then you get the artists who want to start labels and they swear up and down that 'they will give you complete control and it's not about money at all, only your success'. Boys and girls, that's a load of bull if I've ever heard it. What do you think labels survive on? Unicorn farts? Rainbows? Smiles? No, MONEY. Simple. Yes, we care about your success and want you to do well in the industry. Again, this sounds really harsh but the truth is not always fun.

I didn't want to turn this into a class but I felt like people should stop living off of that lie. Everyone knows the many lies that have been printed in Culture Uncut and various other tabloids, blogs, etc, about me, my family, and my label. Not to sound completely stuck up but I'm probably one of the best label owners this business has ever seen. Despite the cuts and the walk-aways, this label has never been better. Now I take nothing away from Greg but he needed someone to really whip things into shape. I knew it wouldn't be easy and I knew that some people would hate me but I'm fine with that. Despite the lies, I've never controlled anyone, told them what to record, forced them onto tours just to get money, never. First of all, I'm not even in charge of that. I get the final say so but I don't handle that really. All artists have done what they wanted with some pointers and tips from the label workers. So I don't force anyone to do anything. As for the cuts? I made the executive decision to cut artists who were, in short, taking up label space from others who really wanted to work. I understand that people have personal lives, so do I but I still get my work done all the time. I'm actually very lenient with that because other labels? They would have cut artists like it's nothing. I reached out to people and tried to figure out their situations. I didn't just cut, I always let people know and tried to get their insight.

All in all, 2013 was a GREAT year for me. My beautiful baby boy, Logan, was born in November and it's been great family wise. I feel like my family hasn't been so close in forever. I'm a mother of a 1 year old and 2 year old, wife of two years to my wonderful husband, Scott, daughter to the world's best parents, Aurora and Emmanuel, sister to a very unique young brother, Nathaniel Alexander, sister-in-law to a beautiful and talented young woman, Martina, and best friend to the world's greatest best friend/sister in the universe, Layla Raine. Right now, I'm focused on being a great mother and a great label owner. I know that there will be even more fire and gas mixed together but I'm prepared. I may not be the nicest or even the wisest but I do what I can. I wanted to just write to you guys since I've never done a blog before. I'm excited for 2014, I can tell you from a music point of view, people are going to be so excited. Studio60 has had a phenomenal year. Awards and accolades aside, I could not ask for a better roster right now. It's clear that some needed to be removed and you know, I believe it was for a great reason. There's no room for people who think they are above everyone else. We're a real family, we've been through so much and yet we've remained in tact. So many labels went under and disappeared but we've remained standing and we will as long as our fans and admirers continue to support us.

To all the artists and staff at Studio60/Tric-Jam Records, thank you for being so incredible to me and working with me, not against me. I owe so much to you all and I love our relationship. I can only see more great things happening with us and I'm just so happy to be the owner of the best label family in the world! So, from the entire Rose-Hilton family, Happy New Years and here's to a wonderful 2014! :)

P.S. I know a lot of people have been wanting to get a picture of Logan so consider this a gift from the both of us ;)
