Drink lots of water, avoid soda and alcohol. Also, don't eat much before singing for long periods of time. But if it gets too sore, it could be that you're not letting your voice out to it's full extent, or that you're trying to hard and blowing it out a bit. I'm still finding my comfort zone, and I've been singing (loudly and often) for around 2 years or so.

It also depends on taste. For example, some people rather sound a little hoarse, because that's their niche as a vocalist. So it varies, but all those are very good generic examples of how to maintain "healthy" vocals.

Of course. But if your voice isn't made to do that, and you're still trying to force it...you're going to mess it up pretty badly. Taste, ability, and what your niche is aren't always the same.

But yes, I love generic. Just like all of the food and cleaning products I buy. lol

Just messing with ya! Cody, I'm always trying to get you back by being clever lol cause you do that to me all the time, like you just did now :P

But unlike someone, I actually think you're a pretty cool Mod, and don't look at things in an obtuse manner. Dancing

Yea, and I'm always quick to fall for it. ;)

But no, I don't blame Walton if indeed he was looking at me. It's something I would do if I was still 12. I've got that reputation. But I assure you all, I'm not a tyrant. Only a humble, honest, totally awesome politician. Like the rest of them.

Dafuq wanna look at you? You see your avatar pic guy? O.o

I can't tell if this is a confession that it was you? Or just something related to the RPing forum that makes no sense to me.

But basic moderating rule, to whoever did it, explain why you do things. This is why locking a thread with a note is preferable for all parties. Because normal operating procedure when a board member has a problem with some moderation & would appreciate an explanation they'd PM them. Which can't be done when you don't know which mod did it.

All the best

No, this was me saying I most certainly did not do it. Because I assumed that Walton was pointing at me because of something related to the RPing forum that makes no sense to anybody.

This evening I went out to do a little bit of field recording in the rain, you know, like people do. Next thing I know I'm standing around in Fraser River Park in the pitch dark feeling like shit for no specific reason, for about thirty minutes. That fucking sucked.

Then I came home and drank probably a triple-shot of rum in one go, burnt my throat slightly in the process and now I'm slightly light-headed. Although I guess still cogent enough to type coherent sentences. I think.

Man, I haven't had a depressive episode like this in years. What fun!

You know, I just love the fact I can see animals like these flying freely around my university. And a few minutes ago I saw a species of lizard that's considered the biggest in America.

Just sitting here watching such a beautiful view cures my depression right up.
I own:

I know what you mean, That really sucks, and I'm sorry you're going through that, I experienced really bad depression around 2010-2011. Hope all goes well and keep the head up man!

I'll be fine, what normally happens with me is I have a long slow downward slope that leads to a depressive episode of some kind, and then the intensity of that episode usually burns off the worst of the actual depression, and I quickly bounce back to a normal state thereafter.

Or alternatively there's a long slow climb out of an episode, like what happened in January this year. And sometimes the episodes are like aftershocks or relapses of earlier episodes. This was one of those I think.

It's been long enough I've learned the patterns, and I've found ways to cope with it without medication. Because the medication didn't work for me.

It's been so long since I'd seen Nathan Fillion in anything that I'd forgotten just how gosh darned fun he is to watch in things. Got a wonderful playful charisma to him.

Right now I am eating a yummy platter of stuffed volcano halapeno (shrimp and cheese inside) with honey glazed green beans and fried red potato chips. HEAVEN.
