erich smiles when ada blushes." you are so cute when you blush.well..cuter. thank you for coming."he kisses her lips back.

randy returns."i leave for two fucking minutes and you two are alreadY making out!?" he says with a laugh.

randy laughs"oh my,you are even cuter when you blush! "randy shakes his head with a smile. " ok, since my daughter has no interest in antiquities and erich is my eldest...i want you to have my mother's ring.it was her mother's mother's mother and so on." randy hands ada a small red box with a very worn silver ring inside it.the ring does have a pretty substantial diamond set in it. "wear it,or dont. i just want you to have it." randy hands her the box.

erich is also quite taken aback,as randy was very fond of his mother. "are you sure?"

randy hugs ada lightly and nods. "you are so welcome,ada.it looks wonderful on you. " he turns to erich. "positive. i love my daughter dearly,but she has no interest in things such as this.ada...ada i knew would appreciate it and pass it on to someone special." randy knows that erich and ada will never have a child of their own.but there are other ways to pass the ring on.

randy hugs ada back and kisses her cheek. "its the least i can do. its subtle,but i can see the change in erich. he's lost a bit of that bad ass posturing he seemed to have chased." randy chuckles. "as if anyone thought erich hess was a bad ass!"


erich grins. "well, i struck fear into....no.that was more amusment." erich shrugs. "fuck it, so i cant scare anyone.i dont need to anymore"

erich and randy smile at each other.

erich squeezes ada close. "i know i am happy to have you in my life.ada." he kisses her cheek softly.

"i couldnt ask for a better daughter in law,you are just perfect." randy nods. "as you know,i may not be erich's father.hell,i didnt officially adopt him until he was 17. but i did raise him. erich's relationship with his actual father was.....strained. erich spent most every waking hour over here with me,so he always was mine. seeing him with you." randy looks at both of them with a smile. "makes me feel i succeeded."

randy blushes slightly "you are so sweet miss wannemaker.i like to think i had a hand in how erich turned out."


erich nods."you had everything to do with how i turned out,dad." he says to randy.

randy chuckles."i dont want complete ownership of your train wreck...i've seen that youtube video! but this?" he motions to ada. " i'll gladly take credit for.

randy frowns slightly,as he doesnt get to see erich a whole lot and he totally loves his daughter in law. "aw, i understand. such is the life of you jet setting rock and rollers! back in my younger days,i was much the same." randy stands up to walk them out. much like dean martin,he's drank about 20 martinis and can still walk straight.

randy hugs ada tightly. "i understand,showbiz is a hell of a racket.you two are always welcome to swing by. i'm retired,so i'm always here. i may drunk off my ass,but i'll always be here. " he hugs ada a second time. "miss wannemaker,you are one in a million. it was a pleasure to meet you."

erich hugs randy and tells him thanks.

erich looks over shoulder at randy. "later,randy.i love you.we'll see you again soon."


erich opens the cab door for ada.

randy waves to his kids as they putter away in a smelly cab.


erich looks over to ada."so.....that wasnt bad,was it?" he asks,holding ada's hand.
