It serves as the lead single off of her debut album Visions that's due out in stores in February 2013, next month. Written about her most recent heart breaker and evolving from her experience from her former lover, Aimée teamed up with Jimmy Patel who's been giving full production credit on behold of this record. Infused with a sorrow-full theme, 'Moving Mountains' is a pop ballad that includes the elements of R&B and soul; with a 'Broadway' type of sound that consists of instruments such as the strings and guitar. The moral of the song is based on her experience on love, speaking out against her former lover, basically giving him a message that she can't "keep up with your [his] moving mountains" any longer; clearly using an idiom to describe the way she had felt when still together. As of January 8th, 2013, 'Moving Mountains is available for purchase worldwide and is available in both CD and digital formats. The song was sent to mainstream radio as well. Background Information Work on Aimée's album 'Visions' started towards the end of 2011, when she had begun writing for her debut. Initially, the singer first began working on her debut album back in mid-2008, before putting the project to a halt after her indie record label had experienced financial issues and closed down, releasing all acts that were currently signed to the label. After the closure of the indie-label, Aimée decided to put a halt on writing for her album and scrapped the material, stating that she wanted to start 'fresh'. When the year 2009 came, instead of beginning work on her debut once again, she instead began writing songs for other artists such as Rihanna, Taio Cruz, Britney Spears, and more. When 2010 came, Aimée continued to write music for herself, just not for her debut album. That all changed after her strong relationship with her former lover started to crumble. In 2011, her 3-year relationship with her boyfriend had started to weaken and coming towards the end of that year, the relationship had ended. This inspired and motivated Aimée to begin work on her debut album once again, and just a few days later after a depressing breakup she began working on her debut album again. Although she was independent at the time, she was able to afford recording at a proper studio from the money she earned after touring in the United States as a support act on the 16th installment of the annual Summer Warped Tour Festival. As a result, she began recording in an average-rated studio. In early 2012, she caught the eye of the producer Jimmy Patel, who soon became interested in Aimée and opted to become her manager, with Aimée being convinced and making him her official manager. Jimmy envisioned major success in Aimée's future career and began investing in her. As a result, Aimée then began recording at Abbey Road Studios, one of the best studios in the United Kingdom, and from then on began recording her debut album there and a few other locations. Whilst in the studio, Aimée wanted to create a unique sound that would fit well for the album and both her and her producer worked together to create a soulful sound that drew influence from other elements such as R&B and pop; all blending together to form a pop/soul love ballad. Writing & Production 'Moving Mountains' was written entirely by Aimée herself and was inspired by what she had experienced in terms of depression in and after her recent relationship; mainly focusing on the turning point of the 3-year-long relationship. The majority of the song's production credits goes to her manager/producer Jimmy Patel, although partial production credits goes to Aimée for also co-producing the distinct sound for the song. Aimée has stated that she is a perfectionist and that she always takes her time when it comes to working on a project because she never wanted to come out with a rushed or an unfinished record. As a result, the recording/production process for 'Moving Mountains' alone took about a month to complete. Whilst making progress in the song, Aimée felt like the song was missing something, which then encouraged her to begin a search for musicians who could play instruments live in the studio for when Aimée was recorded, adding much more quality to the song's production in the end result. Soon after her campaign around London city in search of well-playing musicians, she was successful in finding musicians who played well and was able to get musicians who played the strings and the piano. After full completion of the song in the early spring of 2012, both Aimée and Jimmy [(Patel) her manager)] were overly impressed with the end result of the song and thus began working on a new track soon afterwards.
