rocking out for the last night on tourThe band takes the stage to a considerable amount of applause from the biggest crowd to show up yet. "Battle creek!" Trent exclaims, "Let's tear shit up! How you doing tonight? Good? Well this is the last night of our first tour ever, so I want to thank all of you for coming out and supporting us. I want to thank Gabe Finch, over there on guitar, Derrick Goddard behind the drum kit, and Teresa Campbell over on keys for putting up with all my bullshit. Now that that's out of the way, let's fuck this place up!" he exclaims, and jumps into the crowd, while the band starts in on "City", one of their most agressive songs. hey, you fucks, you fuck and then you snort you feast and then you fuck you blaze and then you suck
hey, you freaks, you beat your fucking meat you masturbate until you're sore pound veins into nothing moreTrent screams, the microphone cracking and squealing every time he's jostled in the pit. He manages to crowd surf his way back on stage, where he jumps onto Derrick's bass drum, yelling into the mic, hey, you bitch you fucking hypocrites you eat my fucking heart you bleed me in the dark
hey, you twat you goddamn idiot you say that you can save me but you don't give me two fucksHe jumps off the bass drum, landing beside Gabe as the song comes to a grinding halt. Instead of slowing down, Gabe starts in on a chugging, muted guitar riff. "Have you guys bought our new album?" Trent asks the crowd. "This is a new song off that album, it's called 'Mouthwar!'" the song has an industrial metal flavor to it, Trent's vocals being whispered into the mic, spinning, turning, bleeding, burning i tried not to argue, but then what did you do? danger, speaking, watching, waiting with baited breath but, then what can i do?Trent starts screaming the lyrics with full force, his voice sounding garbled through the failing mic, i don't know and you don't care and i don't care because i don't know you don't care because i don't know how to make you care because you don't careTrent runs over to Gabe and jumps on his back, singing while Gabe struggles to play and keep stable at the same time, twisting, crawling, shining, brawling striking, hazing, commitment, breaking one lie, one kiss, vinegar and piss i want it back, back on, on trackEventually, they both collapse, but Trent just keeps screaming into the mic as Gabe struggles to plug his guitar back in, i don't know and you don't care and i don't care because i don't know you don't care because i don't know how to make you care because you don't careThe song ends, and an assistant runs on stage with a new mic for Trent. "Okay, new mic, everything is cool," Trent says. "Let's see how long it takes for me to break this one." The band plays through two crowd favorites, "The Saboteur," and "Orion," before there's another break between songs. "I'm glad you guys came out to see us," Trent says, sipping from a bottle of water. "It's an amazing feeling to be up here playing for you guys, and again all of us in shadowmachine want to thank you for this! I want you guys to sing along to this last song, let's fucking kill it," he says, and the beat to 'Amerika' starts playing. The crowd instantly reacts, Amerika being Shadowmachine's most well-known song. johnny's an american, and he likes his dope johnny's an american, when he's cut he bleeds coke johnny's an american, you can tell from his eyes johnny's an american, he likes to watch people dieThe chorus starts, and Trent turns the mic towards the crowd, who happily scream the lyrics. "Good!" Trent says, "but I know you can do better." why put faith in america, you're just wasting time you can drink your beer, i'd rather swim in mine all those fucking tramps, i still can't spare a dime and i'm gonna snap if they ask one more timeHe once again turns the mic towards the audience, and they respond even louder this time, singing along to the chorus. "Fuck yeah!" Trent exclaims. He picks up the microphone stand and sticks the mic on it, extending it out over the audience like a boom mic. "All together now!" he yells, i'm an american, i'm the face of the world i'm an american, i'm not just some little girl i'm an american, explosive culture shock i'm an american, we really know how to rock
i'm an american, i'm the face of the world i'm an american, i'm not just some little girl i'm an american, explosive culture shock i'm an american, look at the size of my cock
"Yeah!" Trent screams as the crowd grabs the stand, pulling it and the mic in. The band end the show with the time honored tradition of destroying everything. Trent tries to snap the keyboard in half over his knee, Derrick overturns his drums and throws his cymbals into the audience like frisbees, and Gabe gingerly places his guitar back in its case before overturning his cheap amplifier. The crowd begins to overflow over the barricade and onto the stage, and the few that slip past security are greeted with gigantic hugs from Trent and the rest of the band. "Thank you!" Trent yells over the chaos. The band all take a bow before walking offstage. SETLIST 1. City 2. Mouthwar (First Time Live) 3. The Saboteur 4. Orion 5. Amerika |
