I've become even more handsome since turning 30, but it's all downhill for women after 30, pretty much. Infusing the lyrics of the original, with some from the Spice Girls cover to fit their British origin, as well as minor changes themselves, with lines such as "Drama, but no babies" which gives a humorous reference to Nadia's pregnancy speculation that tabloids reported on several weeks ago. And with the minor changes made, the girls still insist that the song was the perfect choice to cover. Kimberly from the group commented, "When you think of GirlSpice, many think of the catchy, carefree and fun songs, so we knew the lyrics to this song were perfect for us. And we hope you like it!" Gold Producer(s): Xenomania Description: With it already being 20 months since the last GirlSpice album, it's clearly been a while since all of the girls' voices have been heard on a song together. But despite the lengthy break for fans without a single song, "Kiss Me" sounds like classic GirlSpice and fits in perfectly with the group's infectious discography of catchy, melodic pop music. It's fun, suggestive and playful, all of the things that make a GirlSpice song what it is as the song deals with sexual tension between two people, presenting it in the lyrics in a more subtle way. GirlSpice haven't been shy of singing racy lyrics in the past, but this time round, "Kiss Me" is almost as if it was written by a teenage girl with a crush, it's more cutesy and innocent, instead of daring and controversial like past hits such as "Dirty Mouth". Despite "Kiss Me" being able to appeal to the younger demographic with a lot more ease, GirlSpice have made sure that the music itself is as hard-hitting and dance-floor ready as ever. But that comes as no surprise, as the girls have made a successful transition from pure pop music in earlier albums to a more dance-oriented sound in recent records. With Nadia's recent success, fans would probably expect her to take most of the limelight in this song, but thankfully, the lines are shared out fairly equally and no one in particular leads the song. Sophia, who's also scored a debut chart-topping album, opens the song with her trademark soft, light voice, before Chantal's contrasting, more deeper, seductive vocals come in at the end of the first verse. Nadia then leads the following verse with her strong, sultry vocals, before Kimberly finishes off with her raspy voice, both girls often praised as the best vocalists within GirlSpice. The whole group then sing the pre-chorus in a relaxed, almost whispered tone over the building beat, before their combined vocals in the chorus make it one of the group's most powerful and catchiest yet. The order of the song follows similarly throughout, before an explosive final chorus and an outro of nothing but all of their vocals. We hear Sophia's voice first as she sings the opening lines to the first verse, the beat to the first verse a lot softer and minimal compared to the studio verssion, her voicy light and breathy. Chantal's stronger vocals follows to finish the first verse, before the beat picks up its original strength in the second verse, as the girls burst through the screen with a group of backing dancers. Nadia, Chantal, Sophia and Kimberly are all seen wearing different coloured tank tops with jean shorts and heels. "Baby, why you gotta be so tempting? Standing over there looking so damn fine And baby, you won't hear me begging But I'm gonna lay it all on the line And I know I shouldn't, so forgive me But I'm feeling like being a little daring And I won't give you any apology Cause it's your fault for being so damn distracting" Nadia opens the following verse, receiving the loudest amount of cheers the moment she starts singing, clearly the most popular member in the group after her successful solo career the past year. She smirks at the reaction and winks into the camera that's facing her, finishing off her verse and looking over to Kimberly stood next to her, who carries the rest of the verse. The two girls have always gone head-to-head in fan votes as the best vocalist in GirlSpice, although it's clear why as Kimberly sings the final four lines to the second verse, both girls perfectly executing their parts. "You make me tremble, got me feeling the adrenaline No words spoken, you let your eyes do the talking I'm feeling sick and just want some of your medicine Silence in the air, yet I can hear your body calling Would it be wrong of me to give you what you need? Wrong of you to do as you please? I'm burning up, can you feel the heat? Oh, you're the only air that I wanna breathe" The music drops out for the pre-chorus and the girls stand frozen along with their dancers, all four of them sing together, building up the song's power before the chorus hits. There's a slight pause before the chorus, as GirlSpice and their dancers lower their heads slowly to face the floor. The music suddenly comes back in and moves into the song's chorus, the girls and their dancers beginning a fast-paced dance routine, all of them using their classic head mics to focus on their choreography for the song, which is heaviest in the chorus of the track. "Boy, I don't wanna complicate things I'm not the type for no strings and flings But what I'm feeling is too strong to ignore And I know you want it even more What we gonna, what we gonna do? When you want me and I want you... What's there to do when you can feel it too? This tension that builds between me and you Try and deny it, but babe, I wanna hear you admit That you so badly wanna act upon it Told yourself you shouldn't But stay away, you couldn't So what's there to do between us two? When you wanna kiss me and I wanna kiss you too" Sophia and Chantal once again lead the following verse, as the two of them step forward in front of Nadia and Kimberly. The four girls carry on the choreography, but make sure the dancing in the verses are more stripped back with lighter movements so the solo parts the girls share out aren't as vocally demanding. "I can't help but love it when you treat me mean It only makes me more and more eager Making my heart feel like it's just turned seventeen Giving me butterflies and a soaring fever And I know it's far more than just a crush The way you've almost got me in cardiac arrest Cause you never fail to make my blood rush Making my heart pound against my chest" Nadia and Kimberly then step forward as all of the girls sing together for the pre-chorus once more, this one sounding more powerful in the beat than the previous. The backing dancers are left to do the dancing while GirlSpice stay in place to catch their breath for a moment. This time round, there's no pause and the song moves straight into the explosive chorus which takes influences from progressive house and trance music. Similar choreography used from the first chorus is performed again, with a slight change to it as four male dancers step forward and begin to suggestively grind up against each individual member of GirlSpice. Each member pushes a dancer away until all four are laying flat on the floor, the remaining back ups standing behind soon drop to the ground with them. The girls step over the dancers and walk to the back of the stage, where the song continues as they all sing together, before Nadia and Kimberly solely share out lyrics to the next section. "What we gonna, what we gonna do? Oh baby, what we gonna, what we gonna do? What we gonna, what we gonna do? Oh baby, what we gonna, what we gonna do? You look over and give me that sexy smile And it's like you were made just for me From the way you talk to your walk to your style You're the only guy that my eyes could ever see And for so long, I've been waiting and waiting Hoping that you'd make the first move And for so long, I've been anticipating But you can't deny the truth..." The beat drops out by the end, before gradually beginning to pick up again once the girls start to walk back to the front of the stage in sync with once another. The dancers one by one rise up from the ground and begin a side shuffle dance with the girls who all sing together at this point, the synths gradually increasing in volume. "That you want, you want me And I want, I want you Yeah, you want, you want me And I want, I want you too What we gonna, what we gonna do? Oh baby, what we gonna, what we gonna do? What we gonna, what we gonna do? Oh baby, what we gonna, what we gonna do?" For the final chorus which is the most powerful yet, sudden bursts of flames surround GirlSpice and their dancers as the soaring synths and pounding bass mixes in perfectly with the group's vocals, beginning another impressive fast-paced dance routine. Nadia stops near the end of the chorus, beginning to powerfully belt out on top of the rest to bring the song to its climax. The group drop to their knees with their dancers once the song suddenly ends, heavy breathing heard in their microphones from the demanding choreography. "Kiss Me" is available to download now.
