Kirsten nods. "Well, the offer will still be open if you ever change your mind. I still don't understand what your father has against Joey..." She looks at her phone as a text appears on her phone, she reads it and sighs. "Ugh, business... Look, I have to go... Could you send me a text when Joey wakes up?" She writes her number down on a piece of paper. "I'd appreciate it."

Kirsten smiles a little. "Thank you, Izzy. I'm glad my son has got you, you're a special woman." She walks out of the room.

Joey still lays there unconscious for awhile longer, but twenty minutes later, Joey's eyes finally start to open. "W-where am... I? He was a little dazed and confused.

"A fire?" At first, Joey was shocked but slowly everything fell back into place and he looked at Izzy, concerned. "Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?" He tries to find her hand with his.

"I was so scared, Izzy... I thought we weren't gonna get out of there... I'm so happy that you're okay. How bad was the fire?" He looks up at Izzy, covering his mouth as his starts to cough. "I feel so weak..."

"And the dogs? Did they get out safe?" He takes the cup and sits up a little, before taking sips from the cup. "I can't believe this has happened to us... I'm just glad you're safe. God knows, I couldn't cope if something happened to you." He chuckles slightly, but lacks the strength to emphasise it.

"Good, thank god no one got hurt." He smiles a little. "I have to stay for a few days? That sucks... I don't wanna be here at all... I hate hospitals so much." His voice was croaking a little and was sounding rough. "You look like you need some rest, Izzy. I'm sorry that all of this happened..."

"I'll make sure the house gets fixed back up and good as new once I'm out of here, I just feel like this could have all been avoided, you know?" He shrugs and smiles as she kisses his cheek, he then pulls her in for a hug. "Babe, I think you should stay with your parents while I'm here."

"You don't have to, Izzy. Let your parents look after you for a few days while I recover and then when I'm out we'll try and arrange to stay somewhere, I can't see myself being able to stay at your parent's house." He chuckles a little. "We can both sort the house together, it can be our little project."

"One day, he'll see for real how much I truly love you, and he'll realise how wrong he was to think I wasn't the right man for you. It just takes time, although I thought he'd have seen by now." he smiles at her. "Apart from your father, no man could love you as much as I love you, he had a right to dislike me at first... Now it just feels like he doesn't want to change his mind." he shrugs a little and smiles. "That doesn't matter though. But that sounds good to me, but I don't want you to come back here until you're feeling better. You look rough right now, babe. You need some rest and some time to recover as well as I do, okay?" he smiles.

"I think it'd be for the best if he gave up this hatred of me. I mean, this could have effects on us in the long term. Say perhaps we were getting married, what if he refused to walk you down the aisle because he still doesn't approve of me? These things scare me, babe. I don't want things like that to go wrong for us in the future." he looks at her, grinning a little. "The marriage thing was hypothetical by the way. I didn't just propose." he winks at her and chuckles. "She did? Ah yeah, she always worries about me. I think she's worried that one day I'll do something silly and end up killing myself. She gets very scared when I'm in hospital." Joey hugs her tight, before leaning in and kissing her softly. "You're not getting rid of me that easily." he laughs, before hugging her again.
