"It was just faulty wiring, babe. These things do happen. It's just very rare, and we're very unlucky." He looks at her. "It couldn't have been done on purpose, surely?"

"My chest and throat hurt a lot, but apart from that I'm good. No burns, cuts or bruises." He smiles. "How about you? How are you feeling?"

"Condition? What condition?" he looked at Izzy, concerned. Izzy was the only person he had spoken to since regaining consciousness so hadn't had a chance to speak to a doctor about his own condition. "Is it serious?"

"Goes to show how much being an idiot ends up kicking you in the balls in the future, huh?" he closes his eyes and sighs. "I guess it serves me right for smoking in the first place, I guess. We'll make it through though... Don't worry too much about me though, you focus on fully recovering first."

"All my bad choices end up leaving a permanent effect on me though... I do try to fix my problems though, mainly because I want to make you proud of me." He laughs a little. "It sounds pathetic, I know... But sometimes it surprises me that you see past my many flaws. I love you so much more for it though." He smiles at her.

"God knows how I got this lucky. It was by chance that we ever met in the first place, and it turned into one of the best things that has happened to me in my entire life." He smiles and wraps his arms around Izzy, kissing her head." "By the way... Never doubt how good a girlfriend you are again, you're the furthest thing from a bad girlfriend. You're incredible. Any person would be lucky to have you, I mean it."

Joey kisses Izzy, smiling. "I love you too, beautiful." he holds her in his arms. "So, I don't know what the hospital rules for two patients sharing a hospital bed overnight are, but I don't really care to be honest. Stay here for the night with me? Please?" he chuckles and smiles.

"Oh, no you won't. I'm not letting you sleep in a chair. If they have a problem with both of us being on here, I'll be the one in the chair." Joey chuckles. "This bed is way more comfy, you're sleeping here no matter what." he laughs. "Besides, I sleep with my arms around you quite often. They might struggle to take you away from me during the night." he smirks.

"You love it though! It adds to the comfort, babe." he winks and kisses back as she sits up. "Yeah, you're right. I'd better text her now. She probably thinks I'm dead right now. She's very timid when I'm in hospital." he picks up his phone and starts writing a text to his mother. "So, you're happy for us to both stay at my mom's for a while until they sort the house then?"

"I think he's waiting for me to do something wrong, just so he can say 'I told you so.' But then again, you know him more than I do. I hope he doesn't try in any way to blame me for the fire, I doubt he will though. I just wish he wasn't so stubborn but he's a man after all. We don't like admitting to being wrong." he laughs a little.
