I do that, but I need tips how to make your lyrics mean something I mean. What kind of strong word that could be used when writing music in English I know many in Spanish but the translation just sounds weird.

Well think of a theme, then think a strong word relating to that theme, like war=hate or survival, romance-love, or broken (if it's a break up song).

Your method of writing is drastically generic and flawed by the way. It's debatable to call such a method as that, art.

Works for me rather fine.

I highlighted parts of my quote to dwell upon.

I strive for unique.

I try to think of things that aren't human related yet they relate to human in a way. Metaphor is always art for me. The whole love and hate thing is so overrated it bores me to death at the moment.

You and I have similar styles then, hahah. I favour metaphors as opposed to the ol'...

Quote:
My girlfriend dumped me
She was so mad
And now I'm lonely
And very sad

...dross that a lot of n00bs churn out from writing. It pains me to see bad writing.

I mean the method isn't for the entire song, it's just a starting point.

I think of non-human things and non-living things.

Like a leaf falling from a tree.
A rock in the middle of a dessert.
An Ice cube melting.
A lion and its dinner.
I get inspired by those things

A lion and its dinner? A lion and its prey sounds better to me like it's a breakup song and one of them wants to get back together like cat and mice.

Lol, I'm actually writing something like that but it is about a dog who wants meat (representing a man wanting sex) also inspired by She Wolf by Shakira.
Here's a sneak peak of the lyrics: (Don't steal bitches lol) It won't rhyme in English and it might sound weird

Ese perro que handa la calle [That dog that walks the streets]
Se ve que es un susio malo [He looks like he is a dirty dog]
No tiene que decir disculpas [But he doesn't have to apologize for it]
Pero lo tratan como un caballero [They also treat him like a gentlemen]
Se siente tan malo [That feels so wrong]
como un dia caluroso en Enero [Like a hot day in January]

Ese Perro quire carne [That dog wants some meat]
Tiene ganas the comer [He has a desire to eat]
Ese Perro tinene hambre [that dog is really hungry]
Voy a darle de comer [Imma give him something to eat]

This song is has a lot of double meaning and I wish I was that creative when writing in English

LMAO at the lyrics :L Especially the last line :P

Rather feminist, are we Steph ;)

& to what you said at the end, it doesnt make a difference surely? Just think up your creative idea and rough plan for the song in spanish but then actually right it in english?

You should just pretend you are writing death metal lyrics. Then all you need is to write lots of swearing, and occasionally throw in a reference to necrophilia just to keep the fans from deserting.

Agreed. You singing about necrophillia would be the greatest thing in the world.

You can add some pop hooks if you want it to be a pop song, still would sound dark.

It is very hard to find words that rhyme yet your saying the same message. Oh and yes I'm very sexual in my lyrics, its part of my fierce persona.
If you think thats very sexual you haven't seen nothing yet.

I just wish I could do that with English :(

you can do what Sonic Youth does, their chick just whispers into the microphone and pretty much talks into it rather than sings in a rhythm.
