Ellie fixed her red lipstick while she waited for Hayden. "We could go jet skiing at Santa Barbara Beach. Or we could just have a picnic." She unlocked the doors for Hayden to come into the car and locked it once he was in. "The Merjos are in style today." She giggled. "Okay so we're trying to decide what exactly we're going tool do."

"And I'm only dressed up on high-waist shorts and and a red and white stripped shirt." She laughed. "I look like Christmas." She looked back at Hayden. "Picnic it is then." She drove off and headed for Robinson Park. "So how's Katie and the little one?"

"Make it a large one," Paige Williams says to the book store barista as she orders herself a coffee. It had been a strange day for Paige. With most of her band still in New Zealand, she was in LA promoting their new single basically on her own. It was the first time in life she had ever felt alone, and she hated being vulnerable more than anything. To combat it, she had come to the nearest book store to her hotel. She felt safe there, being something of a literary nerd, and she had spent the last hour or so browsing and reading. When her drink arrives, she walks towards the comic book section, smiling a little as she pushes her blonde hair back and ties it loosely in a ponytail behind her head. She was dressed as relaxed as she could muster, with a blue baseball shirt, tight black jeans and some white sneakers on and her demeanour showed it. She looks relaxed and at home as she quietly browses the shelves.

Paige smiles contentedly to herself as she browses through stacks and stacks of old comic books, impressed by the sheer number of different titles they had. She made a mental note to come back once she had asked her dad to wire her some money - shops selling this many comic books just didn't exist in New Zealand. She takes an old Spiderman issue from the shelf and starts to flick through it absent mindedly as she suddenly feels a little isolated again. Just then, she becomes aware of someone nearby browsing the same shelf. As self aware and awkward as she is, she fears being in the way of the guy, and she moves a little to the side, kicking her bag gently along the floor, trying not to look as awkward as she felt. She scratches her nose, always a giveaway when she feels nervous.

Paige sighs a little as she realises she's still in the way. As he edges a little closer, she feels herself get more annoyed. Didn't this asshole have enough space already? She is just about to scold him and make some quip about personal space when he asks her about the comic book, totally throwing her off and taking her off guard. She stutters a little out of surprise. "Ummm....well you know..I prefer Shonen Jump, but they don't have any," she says, trying to sound nonchalant and cool. At the same time she hated her own accent. It sounded so out of place here. She sounded like a real weirdo. She shrugs a little and tries not to smile when she realises this guy is trying to talk to her. "Paige.." She says, almost whispering.

Paige holds her tongue, despite her instinctive need to correct anyone who mixed manga and anime up. She smiles and nods a little instead, still unsure of what the guy was after. She never really got chatted up at home, given that all her friends were guys. That and her awkward phase she went through in high school. Despite her blonde hair and good looks, she never realised how attractive she was. She nods again and brings the book down, now paying more attention to him. "Paige, yeah. You said Zane, right?" She sighs. "Yeah. New Zealand. I bet you've never heard of it. I only got here yesterday. It's really warm." She fiddles with her comic book and then touches her hair. "How about you?"

Paige smiles a little when he says he had heard of New Zealand. Everyone else since she got here had assumed she was Australian. "It's not all that exotic really. It's cold like England...but near Australia." She puts the comic on the shelf and takes a sip of her coffee as she turns towards him slightly. "I went to Russia once for a school trip. It was really cold." She laughs a little. "Sorry...I don't always just talk about weather. Fail. You must like it here then, huh? It seems nice." Paige takes another drink and nervously almost drops it. She shakes her head. "A dream? Well...in a way, yeah. My band just put a single out, I had to come to promote it." she blushes a little, it wasn't in her nature to blow her own trumpet.

Paige smiles. "Aww come on, don't make fun of me, I know I'm lame," she says with a little laugh. "I noticed everyone here is so laid back. Is that just...compared to me?" She puts her coffee on the shelf. "My grandma used to always say 'things are much safer if Paige isn't holding them.'" She smirks. When he questions her on her music, Paige nods. "My brother plays guitar in the band. I sing. We do like....skater punk music. How about you? Why are you in LA?"

Paige smiles when he says she's not lame. It wasn't in her nature to get talking to guys like this, but she didn't have to look too hard to see how cute Zane was. She giggles a little. "I guess. It would be silly to chase an LA life if people were insecure huh?" she asks, realising how much that sounded exactly like what she was doing. She looks when he points at a table and her cheeks turn a little red. "Oh...ok...yeah sure," she blurts out nervously. As they walk towards a table, she smiles. "Producing....movies?" she says, taking a wild guess.

Paige sits opposite him and nods. "I guess thats why I feel so different to everyone here." She smiles softly and then her face lights up when he mentions music producing. "You do? Who do you work with?" Suddenly she felt a little more confidence and she put her hands on the table as she relaxed slightly, but with her guard still up. "Inzane sounds cool. Did you think it up? Also..what sort of music do you play as a DJ? I love clubs." She giggles a little. "Our name is much worse....we're called Miss Way." She blushes and takes a drink from her coffee. "We called ourselves that because I used to be obsessed with Gerard Way in My Chemical Romance. Real lame huh?"
