13. Phoenix
Recorded: 2012
Genre: Baroque Pop, Alternative rock
Length: 3:56
Label: Studio60
Writers: Abie Lena, Lilly Stuart
Producers: Gia-Rose

This haunting track is built up over sedated strings and canned percussion, where violins, piano and a choir performed by Abie Lena introduce the song. The percussion first appears in the chorus of the song, but it is soft and low just like Abie vocals too, it all gives a desperation mood to the song but within the mood there’s a sensation of hope and also an old 1920’s influence.
Abie range reminds us the firsts single of this album ‘you make me die’ where she goes from low notes to high notes in a single line, always sounding sexy yet haunting and mysterious. The violins performed in the song are provided by the millennium choir which was responsible for all other tracks of the album.
The song is produced by Gia Rose, who signed the executive production of the album, but it was written by Abie Lena and Lilly Stuart around 2012 where Abie was working on this album. Its lyrics talk about overcoming from an abusive relationship where one of the parts of it only wants satisfies its sexual desires, so Abie is grieving about not having the love of her partner as she wanted to have, she clearly declares in the song that she’s being used as a sexual object. The song has a hopeful message where Abie eludes that even though she’ll burn and turn herself into ashes, she’ll arise again as a phoenix, meaning that she’ll get over him and that she’ll overcome that situation and the love she once had would disappear anytime soon.
Certain parts of the song show another side of Abie Lena’s grieve, where she sings ‘leave me here alone, under the dark moon it’s where I know myself’ meaning that she’s used to feel alone and only being by herself she’ll know how to deal with that no corresponded love feelings.
The track was not included in the standard version of the album for Abie claiming that this song it’s a little outta reality due to its fantastic analogies, which includes mythological creatures such as the phoenix. Now it serves as the first track of a bonus edition of the album which is expected to be released next November 23rd.

Quote:
'I like to think of that analogy that as a human being we’ll burn and then rise again from our own ashes, I really believe that we’re all phoenixes in our own essences, because sometimes we just have to let some feelings burn inside of us and that’s what I’m talking about in this song. Whenever you’re feeling something that might not have a future, like in a relationship we just have to let this feeling waste, so live intensely it’s the right way to get over them, when I’m singing ‘let me burn’ is the same as let me feel the pain, let me feel the grieve and then I’ll find a soft place to be and I’ll no longer need to feel anymore.’

Lyrics

Now that I've realized I lost the game
Although you still roll the dices, I fall from grace
There are still carnal desires
But I can’t play the role of a liar
I think of you every day
I know you told me you don’t think the same

Leave me here alone
Under the dark moon, It’s where I know myself
Let me be alone
Away from your core, Here I’ll be myself
And when I burn, Oh when I burn
Don’t you blow my ashes!
‘Cause when I burn
I’ll arise just like a phoenix

Now that I've realized I’m late
Story has been told and I still chase it
How could I have fool my mind
That you and me would be paradise
When all you showed was nothing beyond…
…than what my body wished too long

Leave me here alone
Under the dark moon, It’s where I know myself
Let me be alone
Away from your core, Here I’ll be myself
And when I burn, Oh when I burn
Don’t you blow my ashes!
‘Cause when I burn
I’ll arise just like a phoenix

This night let me run naked
Let me get rid of these flames
This desire burning is being my secret
No one knows it but you gained it

No I can’t, No I won’t
My heart faints, when you ignore me
You don’t seem to be the one so, let me burn

Leave me here alone
Under the dark moon, It’s where I know myself
Let me be alone
Away from your core, Here I’ll be myself
And when I burn, Oh when I burn
Don’t you blow my ashes!
‘Cause when I burn
I’ll arise just like a phoenix
Oh when I burn
Don’t you dare to blow my ashes!
Oh I will burn
To later arise like a phoenix

14. Desert of despair
Recorded: 2012
Genre: Surf Rock, Hip Hop
Length: 3:30
Label: Studio60
Writers: Abie Lena, Lilly Stuart, Gia Rose
Producers: Gia-Rose, Abie Lena

Over surf rock guitar twangs Abie delivers a very emotional vocal performance with sighs and falsettos it also is accompany by piano and violins. The chorus has a different tempo than the verses of the song, it is slower and theatrical while the song’s verses have such and influence on hip hop dues to Abie fast sings it. The hook of the song also has another different tempo, Abie fully incorporates hip hop influences when she almost raps the song’s lines.
The song was produced and written by Gia and Abie with Lilly Stuart as a co-writer too. Lyrically it is about a girl who’s trying to do everything of her man won’t ever leave her alone, she refuses to accept that she’s not the right girl to date, so her man is using her for his sexual desires but differently than Phoenix where Abie wrote about realizing the whole situation and getting out of it, in this track Abie analogies that she’s living a desert of despair, where she’s always thirsty for her man’s love and she can’t get enough of him so when he leaves and keeps days without appearing she feels despaired and desolated, it could be interpreted as if Abie was hooker and in the album there are others songs that talk about the same abusive relationship.
It can be compared to ‘no love’ another song on the album standard edition which has some similarities in its lyrics, but in that song, Abie was talking about the girl who was being chased by the man and now she sings the other part, where the man is being chased by the girl. It’s a sexy way of seeing things, this belongs to a new approach Abie took when she was making this record, she never sounded that sexy before.

Lyrics

Inhale
Freshness
Stuck in this tight room
Numbing myself of his essence
It sounds regressive I know
But what must I do if I got used to crumbs
You come and go, use me like a bibelot
But I keep here waiting, don’t dare ask you anything
And I think
“We just met, I'll bide his time”
Even though the lack of love I can't deny, I see it

I will close my eyes to not see
The eminent loneliness that awaits me
I would rather that you’ve never told me
It just made my vulgarity crystal clear
What I did wrong for you to be gone
Why can’t you love me?
Please tell, am I so boring?
I just wanted to feel loved

Blurred lights
Candles
Roses over my body after glasses of wine
You said “I want to, F – U”
I wondered if those words meant “I love you”
Early in the morning
Sun bright in its glory
You were grabbing your pants, blowing kisses on sands, they dried
Alone I stayed
While you were saying "we should do this again"

I will close my eyes to not see
The eminent loneliness that awaits me
I would rather that you’ve never told me
It just made my vulgarity crystal clear
What I did wrong for you to be gone
Why can’t you love me?
Please tell, am I so boring?
I just wanted to feel loved

Intentions are exposed
There’s nothing undercover
I knew I was in for a trouble
But I just let it flow
And now I’m on edge
But you’re not holding me back
A free fall will be hard
You’ll treat me with indifference, as if I was useless
Like a grain of sand
Lost in the middle of desert
Dried and opened eyes
Searching your shadow aside
But you’re not anywhere and you left me despaired
I just wanted be loved

I will close my eyes to not see
The eminent loneliness that awaits me
I would rather that you’ve never told me
It just made my vulgarity crystal clear
What I did wrong for you to be gone
Why can’t you love me?
Please tell, am I so boring?
I just wanted to feel loved

15. Love will show coherent
Recorded: 2012
Genre: Soft Rock, Indie pop
Length: 5:00
Label: Studio60
Writers: Julia Volkova
Producers: Gia-Rose, Abie Lena

The last three bonus tracks of the album are completely different from anything that’s on the standard edition of it, so it’s clearly why they didn’t make the final cut of the album. This is the first song recorded by Abie that she didn’t receive written cred its, the song was originally written by Julia Volkova. Its melodies are composed of acoustic guitar and piano, there’s a light alternative rock drum on it too, but it’s almost unheard due to Abie incredible high note vocals.
The song is something a part, because Abie sung it very high and melodically, it reminds us her second studio album ‘Seasons’ where vocals were a lot more elaborated and lyrical. There’s also two vocalizing moments in the song, one in the hook where Abe is soft and thin, she performs it in a falsetto, and other one in the end, where Abie holds a note for almost 30 seconds, it also incorporates her own free style widely known on her live performances.
Lyrics are a bit complex, once t was not written by Abie, it’s hardly to define what they are talking about, but they’re very personal, it’s not about love, or maybe not only about love, but is about someone who’s been living its life for some time in a sick routine and this routine is making this person feel sad and mechanic. It also is about being a complex human being, like the ones of not being easy to be loved, because of its personality, it can clearly reflects Julia Volkova’s own personality on it, once she wrote it.

Quote:
‘This song is not mine, but it’s the first time I ever felt that it should have be mine, it was written by Julia Volkova supposed to be in her debut album, but she never used it, so I decided to record it, it does talks with me in a personal level, like if I was the person the song was talking about, that’s why it sounded too perfect for me to record it. I really like the final verse of it, it’s like a liberation verse after you passed the whole song talking about your shit routine and in the end you kind of see a way to free yourself, I like that idea.’

Lyrics

Is that how you feel when you’re all alone?
Not even a single voice to call your name
And so you’re waiting through 48 hours long
Till Monday comes and you can pretend to live again

Hey, it’s just your routine
And it gets you sick
The wish to change disappeared
So let’s get back
To your normal

The calendar still marks the holydays
The days where your heart comes out to breathe
You’re speaking words but they don’t make sense
They don’t understand but shake their heads agreeing

So misunderstood
Almost like quantum physics
Your soul is exiled
‘Cause your conscience
Came over your sentimentally

Maybe if you lie to yourself
Will you feel at all?
Will you be out of this hell?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

For long you feel nothing
By the fear of being deceived
But your hardness is killing…
…your fragile heart, slowly

Then try to see the light at end of tunnel
For every lonely heart there’s another lonely soul
And even no one understand your mind for some reason
Love will show coherent, so just love

Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooove

Free me
Free me
Love will show cohereeeeeeeeeeeeeent

16. God
Recorded: 2012
Genre: Piano rock, alternative pop
Length: 5:53
Label: Studio60
Writers: Abie Lena, Lilly Stuart
Producers: Gia-Rose

This track is composed by a piano riff and some strings on its choruses. It does have a very simple structure praising Abie Lena vocal performance and the intonation she puts on her notes. Basically the melody and harmonic aspects of the song are driven by Abie’s vocal, making it sound unique and different from any other track of this album.
It was written by Abie Lena and Lilly Stuart who works at the ElectroDeath tem production, but the song was produced by the executive album’s producer Gia-Rose Hilton. Beyond the piano and strings melodies in the chorus of the song, there’s an incredible high pitch note performed by Abie perfectly, which makes it sounds so well produced and arranged.
Lyrics are a reflection of God to its own creation, human beings. It is also a strictly critic to religions in the world that fool millions of people, imposing rules and habits which lead its followers to commit bias and discrimination with another human beings. Abie also talks about using religion as a form of gaining money, in other lines she discusses the ability that most of people practice when they first met someone they don’t know, by judging them over their looks or gestures. But she also declares that she’s a believer in God and she does think that perhaps God might love us all even though some of us lie in his name.

Lyrics

Hiding yourself
Behind a moralism
You will sow discord among the good-hearted

Without conscience
Of your vile actions
Your seducing words fool a generation
And I watch you making these mistakes, and I still love you

It’s an ambiguous choice
They’re two paths that don’t intersect
And you, mortals walk without
Comebacks
You go to never come back

Who can say what’s good to be done in this world?
Since you only point to what others did wrong
So I drop a tear of sorrow, but you can’t recognize me

It’s an ambiguous choice
They’re two paths that don’t intersect
And you, mortals walk without
Comebacks
You go to never come back

As you pray for forgiveness, I measure
Your actions by your spoken words
And I find you're lying in my name

What’s your perception of God?
What you preach is really what you live?

Well, I’ve been here watching all this time, while you only sold lies

It’s an ambiguous choice
They’re two paths that don’t intersect
And you, mortals walk without
Comebacks
You go to never come back

17.Beloved
Recorded: 2012
Genre: Pop, R&B, MPB
Length: 4:10
Label: Studio60
Writers: Abie Lena
Producers: Arnaldo Antunes

This is another genuine song on the record, it was written by Abie Lena and produced by former Brazilian producer Arnaldo Antunes, who had previously worked with Abie on other songs of the standard version of the record. The song has a basically MPB structure but has several elements from R&B specially it’s groove and vocals, it also was composed as pop song.
It starts out with a piano riff and Abie almost whispering her ‘la la la’ it introduces the song and also ends it, it’s kind of dramatic and sad and so the song receives a drum sequence and bass and acoustic guitar. There isn’t backing vocals and Abie uses her warm breathy vocals to sing it, without significant alteration on its tone.
The way Abie sings the song reminds us some of old R&B tracks, she starts the phrase fast and slow to almost spell the last word of the phrase. The chorus is sung in another way then the verses, where Abie uses some of her powerful falsettos again.
Lyrically the song is about a relationship that didn’t work out, Abie sings about feeling insignificant for her “beloved”. She also says that when she first met him she wasn’t in love for him but he was conquering her, while the same time he was not in love for her and so she keeps on saying how they should be and how she though they would end up. In the final lines of the song Abie no longer wants her beloved anymore, when she says ‘I wanted you for me’ in the past sentence.

Quote:
‘This song is so personal for me, I met this guy who was one of a kind, so sweet and gentle and handsome, I thought that he would be the perfect guys for me and I would be the perfect girl for him. And as we kept hanging out and knowing each other better I was realizing that I was falling in love, I was thinking about him all the time, he was conquering my heart, so I decided to express my feelings for him. It was the worst thing I did, because he wasn’t feeling the same I was, and that hurt so much, actually it even hurts nowadays and I can tell you it’s been almost one year I never met him again. It’s crazy that we feel so much when we’re rejected but this song is not about angry or hate, it’s about love and being honest with itself, it’s a tribute to him and to myself, It came deeply from my heart and it closes this era for ever!’

Lyrics

La la la, la la la, la la la
La la la, la la la, la la la
La la la, la la la, la la la
La la la, la la la, la la la
La la la, la la la, la la la
La la la, la la la, la la la

I'll be crouched in the corner of your heart
Wondering if you'll still think of me
In your hectic life, surrounded by many people
Did I ever once master your thoughts?

Never was the kind of falling in love
But you got me unintentionally
I think we’d be perfect for each other
But what a crap, thinking you’d be mine

Hope you don’t repent before it’s too late
Hope I don’t fail at things I should say
I was dazzled by your humbleness
Deluded our story would last

Certain things are not meant to be
It’s up for us to forget
The worst thing that shouldn’t be
It’s the one we’ll regret

I just wished another way, another time
We could start from where we stopped
I would be for you what you really need
You would be for me my beloved

Certain things are not meant to be
It’s up for us to forget
The worst thing that shouldn’t be
It’s the one we’ll regret

I wanted you for me
Wanted you for me
I wanted you for me
Wanted you for me

La la la, la la la, la la la
La la la, la la la, la la la
La la la, la la la, la la la
