The Shit is Back in Town

The day has come...The controversial metal band HERO(IN) confirmed their return to the scene just some minutes ago via their official website:

Remember, several months ago we were releasing Unconstitutional, our second single (which was banned from a lot of countries) but days after that we really disappeared...Why? All I can say is that we had some legal problems. One day I called the guys and said 'fuck that shit, we have an album to release' so we gathered somewhere in the Caribbean to start talking about that. I can confirm we're coming back with our debut album but I don't know when. Our first full-lenght release is going to be great, trust me...Arde will make your head burn!

Do you rember them? The Anti-Political american band hit the mainstream scene on February 2012 and since then, they released one EP and two singles, but after their latest release (the Unconstitutional free-dowload single) they disappeared into darkness. It's been more than a year without news from the band and now, strangely, they are coming back. The band enjoyed some success the past year, selling more than 1,300,000 copies with their first two releases and achieved two Gold certifications...but will they hit the market? Or will they disappear again?

Nichole Fischer|SINGLE

UserPostedImage

After giving birth to triplets three months ago, Nichole Fischer and her husband, Sam Fischer, officially call it quits after a ten month long marriage. Nichole Fischer, lead of the dynamic punk cabaret duo, Vile Hour, is now living alone in the Fischer's three story house outside of Detroit, Michigan. Sam Fischer's, lead of the death metal band Acts of Hate, whereabouts are unknown. Recently, close friends Erich Hess and Ada von Wannemaker-Hess visited Nichole Fischer to keep her company through this breakup, and even had a baby shower for the Hess' child, which will be due in February.

The breakup of the marriage was a surprise to most fans from both sides of the relationship, as they were always portrayed as the perfect "weird" rock couple. Nichole Fischer documented much of their relationship in Vile Hour's newest album, My Phoenixes, where more than half of the songs were about her and Sam's marriage, or about their children: Kaya Rose, Sylvie, and Layne. They never outwardly showed any problems in their marriage, so when Nichole was recently seen around Detroit without her ring, rumors started flying. Last night, at 8:22 PM, she confirmed with us that, yes, the Fischer marriage was over.

But, of course, we all want to know why the marriage crumbled. Nichole would not comment on the why or how, but Faith Browdy - personal assistant to Nichole Fischer, and also close friend - had this to say:

Quote:
"They always seemed like a really cute couple in public, but they never really did seem to click throughout their whole marriage. They had two very different personalities, and sometimes they worked together, and sometimes they didn't. After they had the triplets, it seemed more and more like they didn't work together. The divorce hasn't been finalized yet, but they are living in different houses and haven't spoken to each other in a while, so I think it's safe to say that they're completely over."

Faith Browdy also went on to tell us that while the official break up was rough on both Nichole and Sam, Nichole Fischer seems to have already recovered from the initial shock, and has been seen going out with her friends again, and having a good time. "The divorce was a long time coming," Nichole told us last night. "It's been tough, but I was already mourning over the death of our marriage before I approached him about a divorce. My mourning period is mostly over now, and I'm ready to start living again."

Erich: it was such a shock to hear about Sam and Nichole. To my mind, they were THE perfect couple. They were the missing part each other needed, and not just genital wise. But I can say Nichole is in good spirits and probably cheats at baby shower games. But we wouldn't have her any other way!

Erica: Nichole is one of the toughest people I know. If anyone is going to bounce back from this,it is her.

Ooc: I feel sorry for whoever dates Nichole next. Erica liked sam a lot.bitchy friend time! Also, lets all go "awww" at the pic of Sam. I miss mr jones.

Liberation/Nomad Records Lays Off Entire Marketing Team:
Sources Say CEO Max Pruitt is "Nuts"
UserPostedImage
It's been a rough year at indie-record label Liberation/Nomad Records. Once the talk of the town, the label used to house such giants as Reported Failure, James Urie and Riot! in the Boulevard when these two bands were just breaking in to the mainstream. Katie Cyole, Stephanie Fierce, and Vanity all bore the Nomad brand at some point in their career. From 2010 to 2012 the label grew from nothing to being the premiere indie label in the business and even one of the fairest and smartest labels for giant popstars. Now,however, most of the old Nomad artists have moved to North Hill Records which split away from Nomad in 2012. Today Nomad has signed only underwhelming artists. They big band Mount Olympus broke up, Magie Lena cancelled her album plans, Shadowmachine made only a small ripple in the rock scene, Cristina Lake has not had any releases since being signed, Clara Thompson has not lived up to original expectations. The only artists who have been worthwhile are TopLADS who have not been heard from lately and Destinee and Adele who did hit #1 with their debut album but haven't taken over the charts to extent of any of Nomad's previous artists.
UserPostedImage
Today the label may have made moves to change the tides. CEO Max Pruitt (pictured above) gave word to Culture Uncut that he had fired Nomad Records's entire marketing team. A very blunt and outspoken Pruitt told CU "I thought it was time for a fresh start and quite frankly none of those f*ckers were doing any work worth mentioning." Pruitt has replaced a team of ten experts with one completely unknown man, Andrew Simon (pictured below). "I met Andy Simon on a flight and I knew then that I wanted him to be working for me. I called him the next week and now he will be the Nomad marketing team." Simon, 29, dropped out of the University of California: Berkeley after two years. As far as we can tell his last job was selling merch for underground math-rock band Protozoa and the Emancipators. Despite his lack of experience Pruitt believes Simon can turn the success of Nomad artists around without "compromising their artistic independence".
UserPostedImage
While Pruitt thinks he can turn Liberation/Nomad Records around, many think he is the problem. Dan Cameron, the former head of marketing at Nomad, spoke exclusively to Culture Uncut this morning. "He [Pruitt] has demonstrated a complete lack of judgement in the past six months. He hasn't signed artists with potential. He has been micro-managing departments that he has no experience with. He has been creating a hostile work environment. I'll be surprised if Nomad still exists with him in charge in a year. He's nuts." Cameron's testimony reveals a record label in much deeper trouble than they would seem to be on the surface. If Nomad went under it would no doubt benefit the other indie labels around such as Amy Meyer's Songs to Love and Die By which has had a year of signing hugely successful artists. The idea that Pruitt could be fired seems highly unlikely. After the label's restructuring in 2012 Pruitt has a 45% share in the company. This means all of the other partners would have to vote to fire him as CEO to have a majority.

For now there is little we can do but wait. Will Andy Simon and Max Pruitt turn Nomad around? Is Dan Cameron right and will Pruitt ruin what was once the world's finest indie record label? Will Vin Peters and the rest of the partners at Liberation/Nomad Records vote to fire Max Pruitt as CEO? Who would replace him? Would Vin Peters go back to managing the company he created? And finally, if Nomad succeeds or fails, what is next for the world of independent record labels and the world of music in general?

Sammy Griffin: Writing Songs For Soundtracks?!

UserPostedImage

Rumour has it that the young ginger star has been invited to write a song for Nick Cassavette's [Director of The Notebook] new epic love story, Just Say Yes. Mr Cassavette has hinted that the song would be used as the leading song from the soundtrack, being used in the advert for the film and also as the first song in the credits at the end of the film.

Nick Cassavette wrote:
Sammy and I have been having discussions. I love his work, he makes beautiful music and it fits perfectly with the film that I have created. Just Say Yes is due to hit cinemas just after the new year. Don't miss it!

Sammy Griffin wrote:
When Nick approached me, I couldn't quite believe my ears. It was a very odd moment for me! I love the films he has made, and it is a privilege to be asked to do such a thing! The song will be hitting radios soon!

So it looks like the rumours are true! Look out for Sammy's new track, and hold on for the new year for the most anticipated movie of 2014 - Just Say Yes!

Isabel's 2014 Agenda: New EP, New Album & New Label?
"Everything went the way I wanted it to and nobody told me 'no' unless they felt like it could be better. For artists, that's a huge thing."

UserPostedImage

By now it's no secret that 2013 was a huge year in music. We saw comebacks, meltdowns, and even some retirements but arguably one of the biggest names of the year was a now 21 year old female by the name of Isabel Merjos. Literally, you couldn't go anywhere without hearing her name, seeing her face, or hearing her music. She was definitely one of the rulers for the year and with a hugely successful album it was all very deserved. After her world tour, Izzy set her sights on acting, her first love, and she began to star in some major projects such as The Sweet Unknown and gathered her own television series due out next year called Alistair. Her clothing line has been one of the top sellers in retail stores and her fragrances have become an international hit in the markets so what else is next for the singer?

After much quiet planning, we decided to take a shot at predicting ourselves, maybe taking over the world? It could be possible, who could say no to that face? Finally, as the year draws to an ending, Izzy has decided to give some details on her upcoming year of new music, which she took to Twitter to tease fans by saying:

Quote:
[Via Twitter] "I promise Izzybells, the long wait is for a reason. Expect a lot of music next year.... ☺️😘"

Yes, score one for Izzybells worldwide! She's already made an unofficial comeback with her latest number one single with mISTER_b and their track, 'Recovery' but that's definitely not going to be her first official single back from her break. We just happen to have an exclusive on the star and her new music and if you don't believe us, you can ask the number one source herself, Izzy. We've gotten some info from her in her upcoming interview with Billboard about it.

Quote:
"Next year will definitely be fun, I'm really looking forward to it. I've learned a lot since my last album and I've sort of gained a newer perspective on my music. I think recording has opened my eyes a lot to not being as afraid as I was in the past. Now it's all about doing what I want without that judgement of if I'm good or not, you know? That's honestly the last thing that entered my mind while I was in the studio and it feels amazing. There's pressure but I don't feel it anymore. I'm going down the path I want, in terms of music, and I'm not being told what to do, I've gotten this huge reign of freedom and that was life changing. Even with my last album, I still got some freedom but this was probably the most freedom I've gotten on a record. Everything went the way I wanted it to and nobody told me 'no' unless they felt like it could be better. For artists, that's a huge thing."

Izzy is also making big on her promise for lots of music next year, saying that she was delivering not only an album but an EP first. This will be the first Extended Play the young singer has ever done and what can we expect?

Quote:
"Honestly, the whole concept of the EP and album came to me literally overnight. It had some kinks in it and I worked them out but at the end of the day, it's something I wanted to do. I felt like I had written a lot since my break and since a lot of my songs dealt with the same sort of theme, I put those on the EP and then I put some on the album. The EP is basically a cleansing before the album. It's like when you go into the new year and you tend to bring a lot of your past with you that you don't necessarily want anymore, this EP has that. I'm sort of releasing it before the album because I wanted my album to be fun and vibrant but not just that. It's got many elements to it that makes it my album. It was really important to do that because I didn't want to just blindly release songs and release my music without being able to be identified, you know? Like, you'll listen and know that is my song. Obviously, all bodies of music are personal and it's no different with me. The EP is a few songs of me during the slow and dark days. I'm releasing that so when I get to my album, I'm not carrying that sad energy with me."

So when can we expect this new EP?

Quote:
"The EP will be available in March of 2014. That might seem like quick notice but I'm sure my fans will love to hear it soon."

We even managed to get her take on her new album which has yet to have a release date on it. We won't reveal that part but when asked to give 5 words to describe her album she replied;

Quote:
"5 words? Oh dear, let's see.....fun, confident, sexy, emotional, and therapeutic. At least for me it was and I might be the least sexy person there is so you'll just have to listen to judge for yourself. (Laughs)"

UserPostedImage

But to every good set of news, there can be sad one as well. There are some rumors circulating that Izzy is planning to break away from her label, Studio60, which she has been apart of for 4 years now. Even though she is signed for a total of 4 albums and has yet to release any under her renewal, there could be a plan to find herself a new home now but Izzy has not confirmed nor denied this statement. Studio60 has also yet to respond. Studio60 is home to some of music's biggest artists like Glamazon, Ellie-Grace Summers, Abie Lena and more. So what do you think, should Izzy part with her label or should she stay?

Don't miss Isabel's exclusive interview with Billboard Magazine later this month!

Max Pruitt: Well we must all prepare for Izzy to take over the world. Where she does it from doesn't really matter. But we'd best buckle up soon.

Leopard Five, Over before it began

The lead singer of the heavy metal band Leopard Five, Johnathan Baulschoff, has told the press that it is unlikely the Leopard Five would ever get back together, saying that the band was a brother thing and the death of Rodney ended it. The announcement comes after Leopard Five guitarist James 'Deadeye' Baulschoff said it was only a matter of time before the band got back together. Deadeye is currently working on a side project, Sinigaro. The second guitarist to Leopard Five, Christina Baulschoff, said that if Leopard Five DOES get back together, she wants no part of it.

John Baulschoff is currently on parole for drug charges and is fighting a recurring lung infection from a gunshot wound sustained in 2008 during his military service in Afghanistan.

THE WINNERS OF THE UK X FACTOR 2013 ARE … RADIO:ACTIVE!
‘The four lads are the newly crowned winners of the UK X Factor and are releasing their winners single today!
By Culture Uncut

> from left to right - Joey Bennett, George Lewis, Antony Taylor and Charlie Deacon <

It’s been a long journey for ‘RADIO:ACTIVE’, the group of young men that have taken the dwindling talent show by storm, they have become the newly crowned winners of this year’s UK X Factor, having been early favourites in the show. They managed to perform consistently throughout, with the exception of week two when they were forced to sing for their safety in the competition. But as the show grew on, so too did the group and each week they looked more and more comfortable onstage, to the point where they were the overwhelming favourites. It’s obvious that their appeal to a largely younger female audience was a major factor in the group being crowned champions but they have shown a diversity throughout the show, mixing various themes and genres into a strong and accessible sound and performance. And today will mark the release of their winner’s single.

The boys, Antony, Charlie, Joey and George performed their version of the Ellie Goulding hit ‘Burn’ on last weekend’s finale in which they were crowned winners. They have spent this past week recording the song and it will be available today (Sat 21, Dec) just in time for Christmas. The single will however be released through the TV talent show’s production company ‘Syco Entertainment’ while the band, in a change from previous years, look for a record label on the back of the victory on the show. Of course in previous years, the winner has signed a record deal directly but this year sees a change in the system which means ‘RADIO:ACTIVE’ possible have multiple options to consider.
The single ‘Burn’ originally by Ellie Goulding will be released today and the band will hope to conclude business regarding their future before the start of the new year, with 2014 possibly being a big year for the boys.

Austin Nimmo and Layla Sanchez set to do Christmas duet

UserPostedImage

It's that time of the year again snow is falling (depending on where you live) lots of hot chocolate, peppermint everywhere, gifts, shopping, jolliness, trees and of course Christmas music lots and lots of Christmas music whether it be new Christmas songs like Kourtney and Kato's upcoming Christmas single Warmest Feeling then there are the classics like Jingle Bells, Santa Baby and Baby It's Cold Outside which is the track that is going to be covered by teen pop stars Austin Nimmo and Layla Sanchez Austin is known thanks to his amazing covers from YouTube where he covered artists such as Isabel, Nadia Berry and of course Weekend he also released his hit debut single Adore You about 3 months ago which peaked on the top 20 airplay charts at #3 and made #10 on the Digital charts Layla is known for being part of girl group SYNCO who were put together by the one and only Weekend the group had quite a bit of success this year releasing five singles and an album the group have also performed at the X Factor UK final, Chaos Awards and BCStyle Charity Fashion Show Layla had also co-hosted the Chaos Awards and the girls picked up a nomination there they also picked up nominations for Best Band and Best Newcomer at The first Goldie Awards Layla is also arguably the most popular member of the group anyway back to the cover Layla and Austin have been spotted heading into the studio together a few times now and a source tells us that the two have been recording a cover of Christmas classic Baby It's Cold Outside it should be interesting to see how this comes out considering both of these vocalists are so young and have voices that are completely different from the original singers we're not sure when the cover will be up but we're hoping it'll be soon

Was Tisha Jackson Pulling The Race Card ?
UserPostedImage

Last night while you were either dreaming about Christmas gifts or trying to peak in them , probably one of the most explosive moments Hollywood has seen over the internet took place . Head of sales/promotions for Studio60 and music critic Anniken Dahl-Smith and Singer/Songwriter Tisha Jackson went O-F-F on each other after a thoughtless comment over feminism . This resulted in a heated argument , a letter sent to Studio60 and the resignation of Tisha Jackson from the award winning label .

UserPostedImage
The picture that started it all .

After reading Jackson's Rolling Stone interview , Smith took to the internet to vent her feelings on the picture above .

Quote:
Anniken : I definitely understood every part of this interview . Especially the part where you said you were a feminist whilst bending over , half naked and giving the whole world a nice view of your cleavage . Yes sweetie , that's exactly what feminism stands for .

" I'm not a feminist , but I was definitely offended . Just as a female seeing that misleading message put out there and as a person with common sense . I mean , I'm a blogger and a music critic . I'm known for expressing my opinion and this was just one of them . "

Says Smith on why she commented in the first place . Though it was hours later , Tisha definitely got the message and responded with a possible threat ( Maybe ? We don't know exactly know what it means to " be a feminist all up and down your ass " ) , calling her a bitch and asking her about her credentials , somehow not knowing Smith's occupation was on the very label she was signed to . This quickly spiraled into a heated argument between Smith and Jackson that was basically about whether or not the people who 'run' the label work for the artist on the label .

In this argument , Tisha used her words to find every way possible to diss the career of anyone who works on a label , saying things like " At the end of the day I am the reason you are employed, " , " ...you work for me . I've worked hard to have people WORK for me. " , " ...you are a slave to me and this industry, " and much more degrading words, very unfeminist like or really anything positive in that matter . Of course Smith fired back as well with not the most positive messages either , saying things like " Without promotion (even if it's as silly as whatever prank you're trying to pull right now) , you wouldn't even have a career . " , " It kind of shows since you think you have to pose half naked on the cover of a magazine and talk absolute nonsense because you don't believe your single can rely just on talent . " and " I get a bigger cut of what your name brings into the label than you do yourself , but I'm the slave . I'm in charge of making sure you can keep your little status of relevancy and enjoy it while I practically make all of your money , but I'm the slave . " It was after Anniken posted that last statement Tisha took to Studio60 to demand that Smith be fired from the label or she was going to leave .

Long story short , Tisha did end up announcing on her website that she was leaving (Though it's going to take more than that . We're thinking since Tisha has yet to provide the label 2 more albums like promised in her contract , she will be taken to court and will probably lose millions before she can just uproot herself from the label), but after taking all morning to read through the whole argument and all the letters , it seemed either Tisha is really dedicated to the thought that she's some kind of militant or she was really putting her all into getting Smith fired .

As you know , during the argument , Tisha was quick to talk about how much of a slave she wasn't and claimed that Anniken was in fact her slave , which caused Anniken to of course say what she said . Tisha once again talked about not being a slave in the first letter she wrote to the label and in the second provided quotes of Anniken implying she was a slave and took it out of context after failing to state her wrong doings and all the disrespect she was showing towards Anniken . On top of that , when she announced on her website that she was leaving the label , tried to compare herself to African-American activist Assata Shakur , as if it had anything to do with the issue . Is Tisha Jackson possibly fishing for sympathy after not getting her way at Studio60 ? What do you guys think ?
