By now it's no secret that 2013 was a huge year in music. We saw comebacks, meltdowns, and even some retirements but arguably one of the biggest names of the year was a now 21 year old female by the name of Isabel Merjos. Literally, you couldn't go anywhere without hearing her name, seeing her face, or hearing her music. She was definitely one of the rulers for the year and with a hugely successful album it was all very deserved. After her world tour, Izzy set her sights on acting, her first love, and she began to star in some major projects such as
The Sweet Unknown and gathered her own television series due out next year called
Alistair. Her clothing line has been one of the top sellers in retail stores and her fragrances have become an international hit in the markets so what else is next for the singer?
After much quiet planning, we decided to take a shot at predicting ourselves, maybe taking over the world? It could be possible, who could say no to that face? Finally, as the year draws to an ending, Izzy has decided to give some details on her upcoming year of new music, which she took to Twitter to tease fans by saying:
Quote:[Via Twitter] "I promise Izzybells, the long wait is for a reason. Expect a lot of music next year.... ☺️😘"
Yes, score one for Izzybells worldwide! She's already made an unofficial comeback with her latest number one single with mISTER_b and their track,
'Recovery' but that's definitely not going to be her first official single back from her break. We just happen to have an exclusive on the star and her new music and if you don't believe us, you can ask the number one source herself, Izzy. We've gotten some info from her in her upcoming interview with Billboard about it.
Quote:"Next year will definitely be fun, I'm really looking forward to it. I've learned a lot since my last album and I've sort of gained a newer perspective on my music. I think recording has opened my eyes a lot to not being as afraid as I was in the past. Now it's all about doing what I want without that judgement of if I'm good or not, you know? That's honestly the last thing that entered my mind while I was in the studio and it feels amazing. There's pressure but I don't feel it anymore. I'm going down the path I want, in terms of music, and I'm not being told what to do, I've gotten this huge reign of freedom and that was life changing. Even with my last album, I still got some freedom but this was probably the most freedom I've gotten on a record. Everything went the way I wanted it to and nobody told me 'no' unless they felt like it could be better. For artists, that's a huge thing."
Izzy is also making big on her promise for lots of music next year, saying that she was delivering not only an album but an EP first. This will be the first Extended Play the young singer has ever done and what can we expect?
Quote:"Honestly, the whole concept of the EP and album came to me literally overnight. It had some kinks in it and I worked them out but at the end of the day, it's something I wanted to do. I felt like I had written a lot since my break and since a lot of my songs dealt with the same sort of theme, I put those on the EP and then I put some on the album. The EP is basically a cleansing before the album. It's like when you go into the new year and you tend to bring a lot of your past with you that you don't necessarily want anymore, this EP has that. I'm sort of releasing it before the album because I wanted my album to be fun and vibrant but not just that. It's got many elements to it that makes it my album. It was really important to do that because I didn't want to just blindly release songs and release my music without being able to be identified, you know? Like, you'll listen and know that is my song. Obviously, all bodies of music are personal and it's no different with me. The EP is a few songs of me during the slow and dark days. I'm releasing that so when I get to my album, I'm not carrying that sad energy with me."
So when can we expect this new EP?
Quote:"The EP will be available in March of 2014. That might seem like quick notice but I'm sure my fans will love to hear it soon."
We even managed to get her take on her new album which has yet to have a release date on it. We won't reveal that part but when asked to give 5 words to describe her album she replied;
Quote:"5 words? Oh dear, let's see.....fun, confident, sexy, emotional, and therapeutic. At least for me it was and I might be the least sexy person there is so you'll just have to listen to judge for yourself. (Laughs)"
But to every good set of news, there can be sad one as well. There are some rumors circulating that Izzy is planning to break away from her label, Studio60, which she has been apart of for 4 years now. Even though she is signed for a total of 4 albums and has yet to release any under her renewal, there could be a plan to find herself a new home now but Izzy has not confirmed nor denied this statement. Studio60 has also yet to respond. Studio60 is home to some of music's biggest artists like Glamazon, Ellie-Grace Summers, Abie Lena and more. So what do you think, should Izzy part with her label or should she stay?
